Really outstanding grounds and rooms. Excellent location across the river from Avignon, nice relaxing village with some excellent dining options. Staff, young but eager. We were fortunate to get a large suite which was gorgeous

Great hotel, but you get nickel and dimmed for everything. Room 62 was amazing. I had 2 kids staying with me and eventhough we did not have an extra bed in the room, I was charged 30 euro for use of the couch to sleep on. Come on. The next day my wife decided to try out the breakfast. My wife and I just finished a 2 day stay here and it was amazing. The staff very helpful and friendly, the room was clean, comfortable and very large even by US standards. I must warn you that this is NOT near much else, and a taxi is needed to go into the old city (or its at least a 30 min walk).

My husband and I stayed in the hotel for 2 days to tour Avignon and we will absolutely go back again. This is a Relais and Chateaux hotel and I didn't know that at the time of the booking and I was pleasantly surprised. Hotel is located in suburb of Avignon and it would be difficult to get there on a public transportation. We had a rental car and parking […] was free. Everything about this hotel was great. We were in a third floor room and the hotel didn't have a elevator but one of the staff carried our suit cases all the way from the parking lot and he did it with a smile on his face. :-) We stayed in and had 3 hour dinner at the hotel restaurant first night which we enjoyed throughly. The restaurant is a bit pricey but for the service, food and ambience, it was worth it. We strongly recommend this hotel to anyone. Read more

The staff is superb, they are friendly, knowledgable and accomidating. The rooms are large by European standards, with large bathroom. The location is in walking distance of shops, restaurants, and galleries. A bus stop down the street has buses every 20 minutes to Avignon, which is the 2nd stop from where you are picked up (short bus ride). So, you […] can be in the center of the action or not, your choice. The restaurant was unbelievable. It was 2X as good as the Luis XV in Monte Carlo, at half the price. We had such a wonderful time, we asked to have desert on the terrace and the staff setup a second table for us outside for desert. We will go back and nest time stay longer to try their spa. We stayed three nights at Le Prieure. Options for dinner nearby on Sunday and Monday nights were limited but […] we did find a chariming cafe around the corner. We did have a bit of trouble locating the hotel initially and resorted to our Blackberry GPS to guide us to the hotel, where we did find ample parking and a staff ready to help us settle in. One suggestion we would make relates to the bathroom shower, which was a hand held device in the bathtub. There was hardly a dry surface after my husband took his shower. Adding a glass door of some sort would definitely help keep the bathroom dry. Overall, our stay at Le Prieure in Villeneuve-les-Avignon was delightful and we would definitely stay there again. This facility is a Relais & Chateau member and as such, one would expect the outstanding "cater to the guest" atmosphere. although it is a lovely facility, in a beautiful location, the staff were a little less "client focused than one would expect. For example, when we asked about where to eat, we were not given an advice and went exploring on our own. […] Similarly, we asked about parking and how to get to Avignon, which was across the river. No mention was made of the very cheap, frequent public bus that started just around the corner. The parking in Avignon was horrible, and we lost over 45 minutes driving around, looking for a place to park close to the huge attractions present. One other problem is locating the hotel itself. The address in the books is wrong, and they know it. Our GPS had a terrible time locating it. Read more

We stayed at Le Prieure for 4 nights in mid August. The setting of the historic building in which the hotel is situated was most beautiful, sitting amidst a lovely French town, in amongst landscaped gardens. There is a lovely large pool, and terrace to have a drink on in the evening. The only disappointing part of the stay, was having to chase the bar […] staff around the hotel (especially in the evening when they were concentrating on the dinner service) to order a drink. This is probably more to do with the French style of service. Otherwise, we ate at the restaurant once, and the food was outstanding. The room itself was comfortable, and decorated to our taste. Our Sat Nav struggled to find the entrance to the hotel, however once we were walking up from the car park it all became worth while, a magnificent setting and an adorable room. We did not eat at the hotel as the stay was part of a six week holiday and the prices were a bit steep for my pocket. The hotel is well-run, with charming and knowledgable staff. As it wasn't full, they gave me a complimentary upgrade to a very spacious room. Like many hotels in Frrance, the tub had no enclosure or curtain, but the bathroom was large and interesting. The hotel gardens were a delight in springtime, and the breakfast buffet was reasonable, with solicitous […] service. The location in Villenueve is a negative. You need a taxi to get into Avignon proper, where most of the other hotels, restaurants, and the Papal Palace are, and taxis mostly only take radio calls (it is almost impossible to flag one down). The cost of a ride into town is modest, about 7 Euro. In Villeneuve itself there are several tourist attractions (Fort St. Andre, the Abbaye and gardens, the Chartreuse monastery) but not much by way of restaurants. So more thought has to go into your scheduling than if you chose a hotel in Avignon. After dining in Avignon, ask the restaurant to call you a taxi because you won't be able to flag one down; but the taxi will typically be there in 5 minutes. Despite the somewhat inconvenient location, the Prieure is a lovely hotel and a good choice. If I were to go back to Avignon I would choose it again. Read more

ホテルは新しいとは言えませんでしたが、清潔で快適でした。プールもあり、リラックスできます。ただ一つ残念だったのは、庭に黒ネコがいました。飼っていたわけではないと思いますが、猫のきらいな私はいやでした。ホテルのレストランは、ミシェラン１つ星のレストランで、とても美味しかったです♪　値段も結構したので、一日目の夜だけそこで食事しましたが、満足でした。
