"Great Location, excellent staff"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Stayed here on our honeymoon, couldn't have asked for a better place for the money. The staff was extremely helpful with speedy check in/out. Concierge staff was on their A game the entire time. Room was cleaned daily and very comfortable. The bar was nice but a bit expensive ( but that's London). Vauxhall tube station is only a five minute walk which isn't bad at all. There is a grocery store next door that has about everything you need. Was a great stay.

Famous for its hotels, Mayfair holds London's most expensive homes and, on Bond Street, its most expensive shops. But the tucked-away pubs, restaurants, and shops of atmospheric Shepherd Market offer affordable local colour, too. Sandwiched between several main roads, Marylebone has a village atmosphere and a charming High Street. Nearby attractions include Madame Tussaud's and the Georgian splendours of Regent's Park, including London Zoo.

First time at Claridge's. Stayed almost a week. Superb in every respect. Beautiful spacious accommodations. Friendly, professional (but not pretentious) staff. Very expensive, but the hotel seems to earn its high prices. Altogether a very pleasant and comfortable experience. Looking forward to returning.
"Room size"
I have been there 25 times over the years. This last visit they gave me the smallest room in the world.
"Claridges - Timeless Art Deco style"
The staff could not have been more helpful or skilled in the art of running a five star hotel. Wonderful stay!

"If only there was more light"
Arriving much earlier than check-in time, our friends were given a temporary use room and we were offered a drink in their bar. Our rooms were delivered earlier than the guarantee time. The concierge desk is probably the most genial of any hotel I have stayed at. Unusual for this class of hotel, several of the staff specifically noted London "rip-offs" […] such as paying for certain expedited entries to sites, and they recommended specific ways to approach some of the sites so that you had the most dramatic view, frequently suggesting the use of the Underground to avoid traffic delays. Having been in London many times, it was interesting to follow their advice and see these historic treasures in a new light. Early morning coffee - including take-away cups and a small selection of pastries - was offered in the lobby. The beds were very comfortable, the showers strong and hot, we received an unexpected bowl of fruit each day (not part of a promotional rate), and the staff was very quick to respond to any request. The reason for my heading? In the old European manner, there was little artificial light in the room (bathroom excepted where there was excellent light). The only source were the two lamps on either side of the bed and one floor lamp. There were small recessed lights in the wardrobes but they were very dim as well. However, everything else about Claridge's was so pleasant that I don't have the heart to take off a star due to poor lighting. I highly recommend the hotel. Lastly, my hotels.com rate was superb and must be taken into account when reading this review. Read more
"Claridges Hotel in London"
Great Hotel in an excellent location. The room was a nice size but limited on storage. Staff very helpful and polite.
"Claridges London"
Great rate from Hotels.com and great hotel, but got distinct feeling our room was bottom of the barrel at this 5 star, due to discounted nature of the rate. Still very nice room by any objective standard, just a little tired.
"CLARIDGE'S LONDON"
This London hotel was absolutley the best hotel that I have ever stayed in. I have travelled all over the world for business and pleasure. I must say that my stay at Claridge's with my wife for two nights on our way back from Paris was a wonderful experience. Service was impeccable. The food was fantastic from breakfast with the best croissants ever, […] to lunch with fantastic club sandwich in the lobby resturant to dinner at Gordon Ramsey's was supurb. I did not want to leave the hotel premises and venture outside as there was nothing better outside of the front door. I will be back soon! Read more
One reason I keep returning is that the service is done unobtrusively and efficiently. The staff listens carefully to requests and provides personal service above and beyond the expected. This is definitely a five start hotel with a highly motivated staff. I expect to keep returning.
"Claridge´s in London - lives up to expectations"
I can´t really put a finger on this classic London Hotel. Excellent service, nice and classic room and a very central location. I was there for business - but would certainly also consider the hotel for a private trip.
"Claridge's is the Best"

"Truly British"
Claridges is a most wonderful hotel. It is a great location. You are near shopping, theatre and transportation. A warm staff greets you. They are helpful and not pompous. If price isn’t an issue, stay here.

I was in London on business, six months pregnant. My husband flew over for the last few days of my stay to enjoy a last "pre baby" trip. Claridge's was magnificent - worth every penny. The staff was unpretentious to Americans, which I appreciated - Claridge's has a rich history of housing royalty from other nations in WWII, Churchill post WWII, and […] I had had some concern that they would prefer English and Euro clientele. Not the case at all. That said, don't wear touristy clothes there - casual is fine but should be nice. The staff was warm, welcoming. The rooms were comfortable, lovely. Room service was twice daily, which meant returning from dinner to a freshened room. Bathtub took a while to figure out, with the help of a maid, but baths were luxurious in deep tub. Book high tea well in advance of your trip - was a highlight. Also ate at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant - overrated in my opinion. Staff almost harassed me because I had not cleaned my plate after every tasting menu course - perhaps they were trying to be nice to make sure that I got something that I liked, but it was almost patronizing as the waiter and later maitre'd asked if i didn't like it. The truth is I'm pregnant and get full fast - but their calling attention to it made me uncomfortable. Would have preferred (and did later) a much more enjoyable time three blocks over at La Genova on N. Audley St. When I return to London, I will indeed book Claridge's again. Wonderful location, staff and facilities. Read more
"An exercise in service"
Many hotels have a grand lobby, smart rooms, satellite tv etc, and so does Claridge's. But I've never stayed anywhere that comes close to its level of service or that generates the sense of 'special occasion'. From the complementary drinks when we arrived and were asked to wait ten minutes for our room, through to the delightfully chatty and attentive […] (but never cloyingly so) lift attendants, the whole place runs with the precision and reliability of a Swiss watch. You can stay in London for much, much less than the cost of a night at Claridge's. But you'll remember this stay long after your night in that Hilton or Sofitel has faded into obscurity. Read more

"Refurbished back to greatness"
The hotel had become very tired and out of date in the last few years. The huge makeover has transformed it into greatness again. All the modern conveniences against (the best of) the old traditions
"I was made to feel very special"
Claridge's has been on my 'must stay there' list for a few years. I finally decided to spend the money and it is without doubt the best service and food and wine I have experienced in London. Lots of attention from the staff including complimentary champagne and fruit as soon as we got to the room. The staff were all very charming and highly professional […] - especially in the foyer which is a truly memorable place to eat. It was very welcoming and not a bit intimidating as some top hotels can sometimes be. We did not try the Gordon Ramsey restaurant. There were lots of young people in the bar so it was quite hip too. Very close to good shops, parks and walkable to theatres. Flower arrangements in all public areas were simply gorgeous. I enjoyed the stay enormously and would revisit. Highly recommended. Read more

Wonderful as always!
"The best hotel"
I think unless you like the more modern hotels, the friendliness, glamour and just downright special feel in you get from Claridges cannot be beat. We've stayed in a few nice hotels, but Claridges just seems to have that little bit extra, and they never act as if somehow their hotel is above you (which it may well be in our case!) The food is great […] (breakfast in your room is a real treat), its in a perfect location to explore London and the rooms are just fantastic - I'm 6'2" and I could lie down in the bath with my legs floating it was so deep! If you ever want to treat yourself, this really is the place to go... Read more
"Perfect!"
Amazing service, delicious food and lovely rooms. Well worth the experience.
"1night stay"
The hotel staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The room was newly decorated, bathroom brilliant.. One of the best showers I have used. Room very quiet. Breakfast excellent, but expensive. A good 5* hotel.
"Once in a Life Time Experience at Claridge's"
The most classic, beautiful and comfortable hotel I have ever stayed. Starred in all aspects but rates are costly...

"Claridges, London"
A wonderful experience from start to finish, fantastically welcoming staff, superb room, spacious and full of charachter, unbelievably convenient location minutes from tube, buses and a great mix of shopping - high end to high street and yet an Oasis of calm and tranquility inside. Another off our bucket list!
It was a lovely stay, would like to come back.

"Hotel Claridge´s London"
Read more
