The Lodge is a great place to stay. We were there in the off season so the price was very reasonable, but unfortunately the restaurant was closed. We stayed in one of the suites for our anniversary, and we rather surprised with what we got. We had a fully-equipped miniature kitchen (lacking only an over- we even had a cheese grater), and you can borrow things like crock-pots from the desk. You have to clean them before you leave, but they provide soap and towels, etc, so it's not a hardship. This […] is particularly nice because when the sun falls, Estes turns into a pumpkin- Safeway was the only place to get food (other than McDs) after 8:30pm on Sunday. We had lots of space to lounge around, and oddly, a ton of storage. If you're going to be in the area for a week or two, this place would be a good home-away-from-home. The only real complaints we had were regarding the noise. The walls are not good sound barriers at all. At least in the main lodge. The rooms had fans, but they rattled and squeaked. We were there late April, so we needed the air movement, as the hot water heat in the rooms made for a warm place to sleep. The staff was lovely, and we would not hesitate to recommend this place to friends. Just take along ear plugs and be prepared to sleep in your skivvies. Read more

The staff had a great personal touch and the hotel is in great condition. The location is not far from downtown Estes Park but is secluded on a hill side away from any busy street. Driving up to the hotel was a little confusing at our first try and some-what tight turns but the location is worth the trip. The comfort of the room was the only remark […] that I wanted to mention. The temperature in Estes was around 60 degrees which one thing to consider when booking a third story room. During our whole stay, the room was always slightly above 85 degrees even with the room thermostat and the two fans in the room. With the windows in the room opened, the room was stayed below a 85 degrees. Other than the room temperature, everything was great with the beautiful remodeled bathrooms, complete kitchen, and very firm, comfortable beds. I highly recommend this hotel for any Estes Park retreat. Read more

My wife and I stayed here and it was a really cool historic hotel. The rooms were a bit cramped, but overall it was worth it. I would stay there again given the opportunity, because of the beautiful view and the interesting architecture of the hotel.

Stayed for anniversary and was offered complimentary upgrade. Excellent front desk service and well appointed rooms. Love the Crags and will be back. Nice alternative to the Stanley if you are interested in a history rich, well comfortable (yet affordable) place to stay in Estes Park.

We could hear EVERY noise from the adjacent room. It was very disquieting. The room was average clean. The staff, given the Thanksgiving Holiday, was very slow in response to problems with the window shade. The room was dreadfully hot. Even though we had two windows open and NO heat on the whole time we were there.

The hotel is old it was built in 1915. It was built into the side of a mountain it was amazing driving into the hotel parking lot. Each time we returned there we drove up a steep hill and made hairpin turns just to get to the parking lot. The views were beautiful and it was a 10 minute drive to Rocky Mtn. This is a 100 year old lodge. It has been updated with indoor plumbing and modern furniture. The bed was comfortable. The seating area and kitchenette was cramped and not very comfortable. The view out of the window was obstructed by trees. There wasn't a comfortable porch or view. Nice older Lodge, before staying check into what room they will put you in. We were in a room underneath the resturant. It was very noisy from everyone walking on the hardwood floors and you could hear the music playing. Also, no room services provided.

I have never been treated so poorly at a hotel. The room was nice but we were not permitted to use any of the premises because or weddings during the weekend. Our room was never cleaned and we were told that is because the rooms were timeshares. The whole reason we stayed there is so we could have dinners and use the bar for our anniversary weekend […] and not had to drive but we were banned to our room. When we brought it up at ceckout - that kept having us call back all day and never resolved and still have the large deposit pending on our credit card. The room was comfortable but being an old inn there were some issues. The bed was very comfortable. There was a kitchenette but we did not use it. My major complaints would be: 1. The mini blinds would not close and we could easily see down to the parking lot from our room, so I am sure that others could see into the room as well. 2. Nice property two hours from Denver. The front desk host, Pat, is a gem; so too the bartender at the mountain view inspired lounge. We were gratuitously upgraded and we loved this older, but quaint property. The new pool and jacuzzi were fabulous! We' d do it again!

The Hotel was overbooked and we were put in the 'annex'. A terrible room. We asked for a refund and were given a better room the following day. Still not up to an historic hotel standards. I won't stay there again.

Very helpful and welcoming staff. Great location in Estes Park - within walking distance to restaurants and shops if you are of general fitness and able to walk up and down an incline at altitude. The hotel's pool and pool area have resently been renovated and includes a hot tub, new patio furniture, plus the hotel has thoughtfully provided floats, […] pool toys and pool towels for hotel guests. Room layout was poor with inadequate ventilation in bed area. Also room was under the restaurant so noise level with chairs, etc. was quite annoying. Also city noise was very noticeable. We came on Friday to celebrate our 35th anniversary and were given room 001 right under the restaurant. We also were told that restaurant is booked for Friday and Saturday nights for weddings, so we are not just could not have dinner there, but also were exposed to unbearable noise coming from the ceiling of our room from 3 PM up until 10 PM (the Lodge […] web site said restaurant open from 5 to 9 pm). No Pool because they were working on it. And our room had no Air conditioner . And a box fan is just not good enough to replace the lack of a Air conditioner . And Estes Park was getting record temps - 100 plus degree days. We ate in dining room, and they had the fireplace running. It was just too hot for me and my family..
