The 2 reasons I gave the comfort level of the hotel a "3" for OK was because at 7 am was because the construction began outside our window and woke each one of us. It was pretty loud and annoying and awakened each one of us. Also, showers were taken at about 8:30 am and there was absolutely no hot water for any of us. It was very disappointing. Otherwise, the linens and towels were white, crisp and very nice quality....a tell tale sign of a better than average hotel. We stayed in Rm 31 with 2 queen beds, just as we were expecting.

Very nice staff; nice clean room except for the lack of full length mirror. A block from the beach. Downside is our third floor room sounded like it was at street level in the middle lane: noisy as all get out at all hours of the day and night, like traffic was in the room with us.

I had a very nice experience at the hotel. The room was well appointed, the restaurant was very good and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The location on Collins Avenue across from the beach is great for going to the beach or walking.

Very late check in, night staff warned by phone, very receptive as was the night security when we arrived. Although when we checked out just four hours later with the same lady from our check-in she presented us with the a very large bill for someone who had been there for 3 days! Room very clean and well-presented, if a little cramped around the bed (only one bedside table and lamp probably for this reason); too much furniture other unnecessary furniture for a room that size. Disappointed that there was no coffee in room; needed it for our early get up and restaurant not open for another two hours. Overall design/layout/feel reminiscent of the many Spanish pensións that we have stayed at in Europe, so full marks for that. Would have liked to try the breakfast to see what the food was like but our timeline precluded this, shame. Beware of 2 things (not the hotel's fault!); location of this and presumably most other hotels is directly under Miami international flight path, for the record the last plane of the day thundered overhead at about 02:15 and the first one of the next (same!) day at 05:45; light sleepers bring earplugs! Road noise pretty loud too, but that's pretty much standard for such a central location from experience. Beware nearest available carpark (no hotel facility for this) opposite charges $1 a minute! from 08:00-18:00 overnight parking free, so we got away with it but others may not. Handy for the convention center where we had to be for business.

LOVED this little boutique hotel! Stopped to experience the Miami Beach area and found this a perfect spot to see the beaches, visit the tourist areas, but far enough away for some peace and quiet. Hotel was gorgeous and staff was extremely helpful, fun to talk with, and accommodated any needs we may have had. We have already referred others to this destination and will continue to do so. Thank you for a great little stop/stay.

Casa Clarion was being remodeled, it is still a very beautiful "Small" hotel. The noise, dust, were overcome by a wonderful staff. Walls are thin, you get to know your neighbors well. The rooms are beautiful well appointed, great beds.. Area Rugs in lobby and in rooms are slip and fall traps. Still gets a 5

We called ahead before making our reservation to confirm if they were "on the beach". We were told yes. They also said there was parking available across the street. The hotel is across a major road, Collins and the parking is metered and you have to go every three hours to feed the meter. Otherwise it is 28.00 a day to valet park. The hotel itself was beautiful and the people were friendly and helpful. The room was small with no real view of anything but the side of the next building. For the money we paid, we would have liked a better view and for it to really be "on the beach".

Great stay at this hotel. Easy, 3 minute walk to the boardwalk, newly renovated (finished august 2014), clean spacious room. Merges the classiness of the original early 20th century design with the convenience of today's amenities and luxuries. Comfortable bed, powerful A/C, incredibly kind staff that was eager to assist. Called for iron and board, delivered to room in 5 minutes. Wasn't even given the chance to lift my own luggage from cab up the stairs to the lobby before two staff members did it for me with a smile and warm welcome. Felt like I had arrived at an old friend's home. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

Generally a good experience. The hotel is lovely and about a 30 min walk from south beach attractions. The breakfast is delicious too (though expensive). One severe negative though was that a couple of chocolate bars in our car mysteriously dissapeared when under the care of the hotels valet parking.. Though I am not so bothered about the loss of some chocolate, the fact that they were hidden away in the glove compartment means that the culprit must have deliberately searched the car. Thank god we didn't leave any money or valuables behind!

"Good hotel but poor location for nearby restaurants & bars"
06/22/15 Andrew O
We liked this hotel although the location left a lot to be desired. It was a great location for the beach, however it is at least a 15 min bus ride away from the main bars and restaurants - there are only other hotels at this end of Collins Avenue. There was also ALOT of construction literally next door and opposite the hotel - we even witnessed one hotel being demolished! However, the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable.  The hotel rooms were also lovely - we spent 6 nights in no.25 which was fine, however we also spent one night in no.22 and could hear everything the couple in the adjoining room was getting up to as the walls were very thin! The food was ok but very expensive for what we got and the drinks were also very pricey so we never went to to the bar for that reason. Apart from our comments above, the hotel, which had an Art Deco design had character and pleasant staff.  However we would probably not stay here again due to the location.

"Cozy comfortable stay"
06/11/15 SatwinderSingh22 Reading, United Kingdom
We stayed here for two weeks in April 2015. Front desk boys and girls were cheerful and helpful with all inquiries. Beach is across the road. There is a grocery store diagonally opposite (another one in the same row as hotel-down the road) that also served some hot and cold food items and came handy at times. There was construction going on next door and opp. which, we are told will improve hotel facilities. If you want a livelier side then south beach is for you that has more hotels and eating places and a busy beach life. couldn't find fault with the hotel except perhaps the restaurant menu items could be improved, especially breakfast and dinner ones. Sit down restaurant around the area are expensive but if you walk down the other side (turn right when you come out of hotel) you can find shop-cum eating places, mostly, I think, owned by Mexican owners.

"Charming, Rustic Stay"
06/10/15 Christine R New Britain, Connecticut
We stayed at the Claridge for two nights and three days. We loved the decor - rustic charm. There was construction going on while we were there but it did not disturb our stay. The staff was courteous and friendly. We loved that directly across the street from the hotel was the beach and that our stay included beach towels and beach chairs. Only reservation was how thin the walls were. It felt like there wasn't any sound proofing or insulation in the walls. I could here my neighbor shaving in the morning and conversations out my door. But in all we loved our stay and plan on coming back.

My wife and I stayed in this awesome hotel for a week from 27th May 2015. The hotel is a colonial building and oozes charm and atmosphere, way better than tower block hotels. The staff were all amazing and could not be more helpful and friendly, top marks to the person that manages them. The food is excellent and we had breakfast most mornings as well as dinner three times. Free wifi was a bonus as well. They have their own bit of beach with free chairs, towels and some complimentary water, again staffed by great people. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and we are certain to use it for two weeks next year, hope to see some familiar faces :)

"Charming hotel"
06/04/15 Amanda1051 Coventry
We stayed at the Claridge for 2 weeks (which seems to be a long time to stay in Miami). The hotel is charming and quirky. Unfortunately there was a lot of building work going on around the hotel, but once inside it didn't impact on our stay in the slightest. All the staff were friendly and courteous, the rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels available whenever required. The food was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. The beach is a short walk away and you have your own section where the towels and beds are free but you need $15 for a parasol. The Claridge is in a quieter part of South Beach, but for us that was perfect, although it's a long walk to the busier areas, if you take the boardwalk it's a great way to walk where you want to to and enjoy the scenery, you can also catch a bus for $2.35 each and they are very regular. If you want a relaxed, classy break away from the hustle and bustle then I would recommend this hotel.

"Laid back, relaxing stay"
06/02/15 82JLS Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in a Casa Queen and ate breakfast at the restaurant each morning, as well as 2 lunches and 1 dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Location: North of the main hub of South Beach, but it's a nice walk on the boardwalk to many of the restaurants and bars around Lincoln/16th, or take an Uber. If you want a wild party scene, this probably isn't for you. It's laid back and fairly quiet despite Collins Ave, which is a busy road, and nearby construction (the area may become busier when the several nearby buildings are complete). Hotel: Small, historic hotel with a Latin/South American vibe. Well decorated. The staff was very accommodating. There isn't a pool or much in the way of outdoor space (though the terrace with the restaurant is nice), but the beach is a short walk (just across the street). We loved how clean and relatively quiet this part of the beach was. Room: The room was simply furnished, with high quality linens, towels and bath products. Serviced twice per day and very clean. The bathroom was small (sink was in room, which was fine). Understated and comfortable, but not a "wow" room at first glance. Restaurant: We enjoyed everything we ate here. While not inexpensive, it is Miami, and this was one of the better values we had. Overall: We would stay here again and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing stay not too far from the action.

‎Nice hotel, in Collins Ave. not far from Art Deco District. Very nice room, excellent beds and linning. Decoration is colorfull and eclectic old style. We enjoyed our stay. Receptionists and maids were helpfull and kind. Could be better with parking and swimmingpool but they have valet for 27 usd and the Beach is 100 mts in front. There is free WiFi .

We've been travelling with our friends, had two rooms - sufficiently equipped, big rooms, big and high (!) beds :), perfect service, kind people, unbelievably fantastic decorations in the halls - we loved it, lots of lounges to spend time if you choose so. About 100m to the beach and about 2km to Ocean Drive - nice walk along the beach. Not so many places to party, the nearest place is 16th street, a bit to go, ca 2 km where the restaurants and shops are. We could easily come back to this hotel as we loved everything about it. The staff was very helpful when we wanted to get some information about motorcycle rental.
