Good value for money, good accommodation
"Our Favorite Place to Stay in T.O."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Our room had two minor issues which we reported at checkout. (Refrigerator did not work well due to broken seal on door and toilet needed a little tightening) I will trust the hotel will address these maintenance issues. The suite was clean, comfortable and pleasing for our stay. This is always our first choice of accommodations, so much better than a standard room. The Hotel has simple elegance and a top rate, friendly and efficient staff.
"An excellent hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
The staff were courteous and helpful. The room was bright, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent value. An enjoyable stay all round.

"Convenient for our purpose."
OK, reasonable, not great, value with the room sale. Need a free breakfast buffet and/or a more moderately priced quick breakfast alternative. Else have to go to Tim Horton's a short distance. Could do without parking charge for guests, essentially a hidden charge.
"Very nice but be aware"
The hotel is great, the staff is absolutely incredible! Just be aware of the fact that the price does not include a parking fee and that the slide in the pictures is only open select hours during the weekend. During the week it does not run. But overall a great hotel!
"had to pay for parking"
Didn't like the fact that i had to pay to park in their parking lot.

"OK but a little overpriced"
the whole hotel smelled like paint, varnish and all things related to construction! i felt sick to my stomach the whole time there... the hallways were always dirty!!!!! always!!!! i had to call front desk because housekeeping didnt pick up leftover food and tray from previous customer! just dirty hallways!!! but overall its ok!
"good - but construction going on"
Needs better signage in lobby to direct people to correct elevator. Construction, renovation, painting going on... No pool. I would have like to know that there was construction going on before I booked. Should say something on the web site. Also - The web site said parking was 9.00 a day and we were charged 15.00 per day. Front desk person apologized […] that it had not been changed, but we should have been charged what the web site said. You should update the web site more often. Read more

"Delta east Totonto"
Overall the hotel was not bad. I can't complain about the rates For the room. The room service was very expensive 14.00! For a sandwich!! And it took 4 room keys to get only 1 to work, little frustrating after a long day. First time I ever stayed at a hotel that I had to pay for parking! My room was good, little small but clean. No free wifi big bummer. […] But I recommend this hotel just room service will kill your pocket, and don't come back after 10pm or you won't find a parking space on main lot. Read more
Thank you very much for your feedback regarding your stay with us. I would like to personally apologize for the difficulty faced when attempting to access your guestroom. I apologize you found our room services prices to be expensive, however these prices are competitive with the hotels in the area. The Delta Toronto East is equipped with ¬approximately 563 parking spaces with access to the hotel. We currently offer complimentary wired high speed internet access in all guest rooms, and complimentary WiFi in the lobby. I am delighted to let you know that we are currently in the process of upgrading all guest rooms to provide WiFi, which will be completed very shortly. Thank you once again for your business and we look forward to seeing you in the future.
1 response by Delta Toronto EastThe hotel on Kennedy Rd Scarborough was a good location and the service was very good. However we found it a bit run down in some areas and there were dirty patches on the carpet in the corridor where our room was located
I would like to thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. We are thrilled to announce that the hotel is currently undergoing renovations to all our public spaces and have almost completed renovations to our meeting space. We hope to welcome you back to enjoy our new facilities at the Delta Toronto East.

"Nice pool for kids, but service was lacking"
We booked this hotel for its location (between the Toronto Zoo and Ontario Science Center) and its large indoor pool with waterslide. Both worked out well for us and the kids really liked the pool. However, I was not happy with the cleanliness of the room. There were obvious stains on one of the white comforters, additional toothpaste/water stains around […] the sink, black hair on the bathroom floor and no bags for the ice bucket or trash cans. We stayed 2 nights and when the comforter was not changed after the 1st night, we called the front desk and someone came and replaced it right away. The interior of our room was nice and in good condition (we even had a huge brand new flat-screen TV), but the maid service seemed sloppy. The other reason why I do not recommend this hotel is the totally unjustified parking fee of $15/night, which you cannot escape unless you tell them you came by train or taxi and then park elsewhere (risking to get a parking ticket). This hotel is not downtown were parking is sparse; they have multiple lots and plenty of spaces. They simply use their parking policy to make some extra bucks. Read more

1 response by Delta Toronto East"Delta East, Toronto"
Primary reason for staying is discounted cost of room through Hotel.com Outside of center city and takes almost an hour on subway and bus although easy transfer. Parking very expensive downtown. Definately family oriented..noisy..swimming pool for kids in the middle of lobby and restaurant area. No wi-fi either. Good for families with young kids. Additional […] fee for parking that seems unnecessary and not part of posted hotel cost. TV didn't work. Read more

1 response by Delta Toronto EastHotel was very conveniently located. Pool was nice, seperate one for little kids. Nice size bathroom. "Free Wi-Fi" is ONLY IN THE LOBBY. Paid parking, of course, there is a garage but no elevator access to it so you are walking up some stairs. Park in front when checking in/out. Elevators slow-jump on one when you can. But we would stay again.
Thank you for your insightful comments. I would like to assure you that we are renovating all areas of the hotel, offering our guests modern décor and facilities. Further, we are adding wireless internet in all guestrooms. It is always helpful to obtain insightful comments such as these that assist us in providing the best possible experience for our guests. 1 response by Delta Toronto East"Cheap Hotel and close to Downtown Toronto"
It was my first time visiting Canada and found that this place is very convenient when driving to Downtown Toronto (only a 20 minute drive). It's definitely not a luxury hotel but worth it for the price paid. I enjoyed the pool which was nice and never too crowded and the staff was very friendly.
Thank you very much for choosing the Delta Toronto East Hotel for your first trip to Canada. I will be sure to share your positive feedback with my team. We are truly pleased you had such a positive experience and we hope to welcome you back soon!
1 response by Delta Toronto EastThis is my family's favorite hotel in Toronto. We've been staying here a dozen times and always impressed with the service and food and enjoyed the fitness center and spas.
"So so"
nice room, expensive breakfast options, dirty hallways, dated bathrooms friendly check out staff overpriced
"HOTEL IS LIKE THE DRURY INN'S, read the rest..."
I got a good rate from hotel.com, otherwise I would be really irritated. Rooms are decent size, clean and beds have goose down pillows. Free internet was nice. Free internet was wired connection only. I just happened to bring a 25 foot cat5 cable to use internet while laying in bed. The tv was a huge old tube. Looks like the budget was lacking on a […] new lcd tv. Read more
We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for your comments regarding the hotel and its facilities. We do have complimentary wireless Internet available in the common areas (lobby, T.W's and Whitesides Terrace Grille Restaurant). The complimentary high speed Internet in the guestrooms requires a cable as noted in your review. Your feedback will be considered for any future upgrades or renovations at the hotel.

"Clean and convenient but needs a rennovation badly"
This facility is starting to feel a bit dated. While the furniture and service is on par with other Deltas, there is definitely a need for investment in the physical building and individual rooms. The swimming pool is great, clean, and well managed but the room had a lumpy bed and the shower had rust and other signs of need of repair. Notably, the shower […] head was terrible which makes a big difference in how you feel at the end of a long days. Housekeeping was excellent and the front desk was very helpful. The other let down was that this hotel only offers wired internet in the rooms...no wifi. Read more

"Delta toronto east"
The hotel itself was okay. The chlorine smell from the swimming pool was overwelming though. Anyone eating at the restaurant near the pool would have to endure the smell throughout their meal. Also the main hallway was not vacuumed every day. We saw the same candy wrapper on the floor for three days. The location was convienient to where we were visiting […] though. Read more

"Delta East Scarborough"
Stayed for the long weekend. It was great the desk staff were awesome. We got discount tickets and maps to the Toronto Zoo, Canadas wonderland an the CN tower. The kids loved the waterpark. It gave them something to do after dinner. Kids 12 and under eat for 1/2 price at the buffets but it was still quite expensive. The hotel staff recommended Eggsmart […] for breakfast. About a 2 minute drive. The kids and I loved it and it was significantly cheaper. The rooms were nice. The bathrooms were huge. We got 2 adjoining rooms which these days is rare. The beds were very comfortable. My only complaint was having to pay $15 a day to park out in the boondocks. Read more

"Good hotel for the area"
This hotel has an indoor pool and good fitness center. The food at the restaurants is ok. Pub food is ok as well. There are some nice locations nearby if you have a long stay. During the day they have been stress testing the building and it makes a huge racket. Hopefully this is done by now.
"if you are in the vicinity only"
the personel is very courteous and nice. equipment seems overworn somewhat, you have to pay for your parking. i'd recommend it if you have business in Scarborough area, if not, i'd still keep looking.

"Great for kids, priced right"
I stayed at this hotel for two nights with my two boys, ages 5 and 7. They LOVED the pool with its waterslide; we spent a lot of time there. The room service selection wasn't great, but the food was fine. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. I didn't mind paying for parking, as the lot was very convenient to the hotel, and finding a space […] was not a problem. Read more
"Room was worth it... added parking fee was a shame..."
to pay extra for a parking space that was share by other restaurants in the hotel and spaces were not monitored... it seemed like a cheap way for the hotel to bilk additional money from the guests... that was disappointing...
"Pool"
I have stayed at this hotel a few times now and have found the hotel to always be clean and have friendly staff. This time the only disappointment was the pool reached capacity and we had to wait about 15 minutes to get in. I have a four year old and we booked this hotel because of the pool. The staff handled the situation with professionalism and was […] very apologetic. I would go back again. Read more
"Great room and bed, but unexpected parking fee"
Pro: Bed, pillows - very comfortable. Near to many asian shopping centers and restaurant. Cons: Parking fee (I wasn't aware there is parking fee for more than CAD 10/day)
"Eng."
It is no free parking.....They charge $13.00 per nite.
"Good Hotel"
Everything at this hotel was great including service, location, comfort. The only drawback was having to pay for parking.
"Overall an OK stay..."
Recently stayed there for 4 nights, would have stayed the whole 7 nights there but decided to stay in a better hotel 1 exit away... The parking fees here is just plain dumb! Thanks God a lot of the construction is done(oct 2011 i stayed here also) i didnt make a mistake of staying in a room facing the pool... Front desk was overall nice however twice […] i asked the front desk to have housekeeping do my room but times i came back to an undone room :( only real complain is paying for parking! The hotel does not need to charge for parking because there are many many hotels around this hotel that offers free parking and better service... I've stayed in a few other hotels 1 exit away which was far better... Read more

Hotel was great, kids loved the pool and the especially the slide. Rooms were comfortable and the location is close to restaurants and a couple malls ... right next to the 401. Friendly staff, very helpful ... quick check-in and check-out. Thanks.
