Everything was very old and inconveient. Was bummed with the neighburhood but the hotel was less than min walk to metro which was the only good point.

The hotel was adequate, the rooms were clean and most of the staff was friendly. The rooms get very cold in the winter but the heater works. I couldn't get the Wifi connection to work and the front desk staff wasn't interested in helping me but there is free Wifi at the train station up the street if you have a similar problem. Also, beware of the airport […] shuttle offered; they cheat you on the price. The sign said 18 euro one way to the airport but they ended up charging me 34 to CDG (8 euro deposit + 26 euro additional fare). Read more

Location is good and you're close to Metro stops, but the staff is not nice at all. The guy at the front desk did not even want to let me in one night as he didn't believe I was staying there. The lobby is very deceiving and the roooms are tiny.

Misleading in their pictures. Old and outdated facilities. Rug was disgusting with water damage do to a constant flow of water from shower. Unable to fit two people and their small luggage in the elevator. Gross!!!

Very typical European hotel- quaint, quirky (tiny elevator, tight hallways) with lots of character. The room was exactly what you would expect at a low to mid priced Parisian hotel with a small bed, smaller shower and not much in the way of creature comforts. We arrived a full day late to a Hotel that is hard to find and that wasn't ready. They did not have our rooms ready and I had to settle for two smaller rooms. To make matters worse, one of the rooms was filthy. It looked like someone was already in the room and had left for breakfast. We where down the way from the North train station. We lost power one morning. the breakfast was okay yet simple. The WIFI is only in the lounge. the room was clean and so was the shower. it was a tub with a a shower head not an actual shower faucet.

Motel 8 would be consider a four star hotel in comparison to this hotel. Ceiling in the bathroom has holes, mildew in the shower. Not a good experience, if I would have had the money I would of let the same date. I had to stay two nights, and I cried since it was so horrible. Never again would I stay in a hotel like this one.

Hotel is satisfactory if you will be out most of the day & only need a place to sleep. TV channels are limited (only 5 french channels). Clean but a bit outdated. Neighborhood a bit sketchy at night since prostitutes are clearly visible. Nice and convenient coffee shop/bar across the street. Metro stop across the street.

The service from staff was very patchy, with some people who would put themselves out for you but generally giving a rather distant feel to the whole thing. The maintenance in the room (and the broken bathroom ceramics held together with anonymous grey stuff) was disappointing and cleanliness did not bear much scrutiny. The room was very small (4m X 3m) with a side en suite tiled bathroom. The decor was tired and a bit shabby, broken tiles and poorly fitted shower in the bathroom, stained walls and bed spread in the bedroom (room 417) The bed was a King size and very comfortable, extra pillows are available on request (but best to ask for them as early as possible). […] A little extra effort and a bit of money well spent could bring this hotel up to scratch and make it a more pleasurable place to stay. A city tax of €1.20p.p.p.n is imposed. Breakfast was an optional extra, at €8:50 per person and was strictly issued as 1 bun, 1 croissant and 1 pain au chocolat per person with self serve hot drinks, orange juice, cereal, apples, cheese and yogurt in very limited supplies. This hotel is 20 metres from Bon Sergeant Metro Station (Line 5) 10 minutes walk from Gare Du Nord and has a frequent bus service with stops close by. plenty of shops close by with a couple of Supermarkets and small independent restaurants within a few minutes walk. The staff were very friendly and engaging. They happily spoke English and took time to educate a few words and phrases in French to those interested. Overall, this hotel is O.K. if you only want somewhere to sleep, shower and store your belongings but offers nothing to those who may want to spend a relaxing day there. Paris is not an inexpensive place to visit all round, and all hotels are priced more for their location in a major city than for their own facilities. Read more

Functional hotel. Clean other than dirty towels and bedding left in corridors far longer than you would expect. WiFi is only available in Reception. Location was good for us, not too far to Gare de Nord, though with cases it's a long walk (however there are regular buses up and down Rue de Magenta which are easy to hop on and off for the stations). […] Good starting point to explore Le Marais and very close to Metro. Very bad considering they rate themselves 3 stars. It is not acceptable not to have proper glasses in the room. Couple of plastic glasses are ridiculous considering you charge a three digit amount. The tails in the bathroom look like they need a change or at least a repair. And 24 hours manning the reception is not a service is a must...

The hotel was ok, we had to change room but only because we wanted a double bed, which we kind of got, it was two beds pushed together so not very comfortable. Location was ok though. I think they could do with some improvements in the hotel with regard to the upkeep. No tea facilities in the room and when I asked for a cup of tea at reception at 6.30pm […] on evening they couldn't provide any milk as the chef wasn't there, found this a bit strange. the interior of the hotel is very old and needs refurbishment. the duvet is so old that it is in fading color. but it's clean at all. the ventilation is not really good. for the guest room on the first floor, you can receive the free wifi signal on the ground, although it is not really stable. i don't know why the female staffs are much more welcoming […] than the male one... but most of the time they just concentrate on what they are doing or playing with the computer instead of answering your questions or welcoming you immediately. for the location, it is quite good since it is right next to a metro station, and not far away from the main gare, like gare du nord and gare de lyon. Hotel itself OK, comfortable enough but showing its age. Location very convenient for Eurostar passengers. Only about 20m from Jaques Bonsergent metro station, two stops from Gare du Nord. Plenty of nearby restaurants that are better value than ones more in the centre. Try walking up to the nearby canal. A good base for a short stay.

Its a budget Hotel. The rooms are small and in DIRE need of redecoration. The bathroom was clean and fully functional but one could never feel entirely sure that the tiles would not come crashing around your head. The hotel was tired and shabby, the rooms small and the staff a bit grumpy! The room we stayed in had to beds pushed together which by morning had moved apart so much that there was a massive gap, which one of us inevitably fell down.
