I am a return guest to the Estherea. The hotel is quite enjoyable. One can tell that it is a labor of love on the part of the owner and staff. Some visitors from abroad my find the room size cramped but this is, in my opinion, more of an issue with European hotels and less with the Estherea. The Estherea is in a great location, it is beautifully decorated, the service is excellent and the staff is friendly and professional. I recommend it highly.

The staff was very friendly and helpful! My only suggestion would be to give more detailed instructions on how to arrive from the airport to the hotel. It is not included in the hotel shuttles and we had a hard time finding out how to take the public transportation. Ended up taking a taxi which cost €40. But it is worth the trouble. Very nice hotel and includes a nice breakfast. We would definitely stay again if visiting Amsterdam.

Only stayed here 1 night - it was convenient and cheaper than the airport hotels for an overnight. Right acrosss the street from the central train station (5 minutes walk), 4.40 Euro and <30 minutes to the airport, lots of restauraunts in the area and plenty of shops - conevnient for luggage as well! Free wifi new TV's. Would stay here again.

This hotel is good value for the money. The room was big, clean and we had a great view of the canal. The hotel is very close to tram stations, restaurants and super markets. We would definitely consider this hotel again.

we were delighted with the quality of service provided daily by the cleaning staff but the overall friendliness of hotel staff leaves a lot to be desired. the bathroom was very clean and modern but the furnishing and bed disappointing. the room was very cold when we arrived and we froze all night then discovered the next morning that the heating was […] only on setting 1. we had free breakfast on the sunday and monday, the lady on duty on the sunday was warm and friendly but the lady on the monday was cold, unfriendly and cleared tables before guests finished eating. we visit holland every year to visit our son and his family, this was our first and last visit to this hotel as it was very noisy at night and early in the mornings. I stay at the Gooiland on a weekly basis, the hotel is a fairly old buiding however the interior is well maintained. The Rooms are very large, would be good if they provided a flat screen TV and a little more for room entertainment. All in all one of the better hotels in the area.

We've stayed here many times when visiting our son and his family because of its convenient location for all we need, right in the centre of town and only five minutes walk from the station. The rooms are exceptionally spacious, clean and generally comfortable but slightly spartan rather than luxurious. Furnishings are looking a bit tired and drawer […] space is lacking. This is an historic hotel - great black & white photos around give a sense of what this hotel has seen during the years, thru the War and since. Hilversum is lovely, great shopping, great restaurants and cafes & very close to the railway station, with a 15-20min trip into Amsterdam Central. Have to mention Roeng Reang Thai restaurant - absolutely divine […] food & great service. Hilversum is quite quiet, but bustling main street for shopping during the day and socialising at a number of street cafe's bars, resaturants & clubs. You can see more of the Amsterdam surrounds, than just the city centre, this added an extra bonus to our weekend stay. Breakfast at the hotel was great - everything you'd expect & good quality. Ensuite bathroom. Our room was basic, quite small but clean and had a balcony and door that led out onto a patio area where you can sit and have a drink or read. We planned to be out all day each day, so weren't concerned about the size of the room. Staff were lovely and all in all we had a great 12th wedding anniversary visit. Thank you. Read more

The room was very dirty, had a very dirty shower, had a very dirty and old carpet in the room, shabby, worn out curtains, shabby furniture, in short: do not touch the floors bare feet and do not touch anything inside the shower cubicle, where we also found the tops of shower gel bottles of the last guest.

Sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal!!! Die Zimmer sind schlichter Standard, sehr sauber, netter Balkon. Das Hotel ist kein 4-Sterne Standard, aber dafür ist der Preis auch weit unter 4-Sterne Niveau. Es hat einen ganz gewissen Charm und eine tolle Bar, die leider nur für besondere Veranstaltungen geöffnet wird. Die Lage ist sehr gut - nahe zur Innenstadt […] und nur 5 Minuten zum Bahnhof von wo aus man mehrere Male die Stunde in ca 20 bis 30 Minuten nach Amsterdam Central fahren kann. The hotel is old, but ok. Needs upgrading, and does definitely not qualify for 4 stars. It is centrally located and the room was spacious.

Malheureusement l'endroit est trop calme pas trop de commerce aux alentours, cependant vous êtes à 30 min d'Amsterdam par autoroute. Ensemble agréable :)

Das Hotel/ die Stadt Hilversum ist sehr nah an Amsterdam gelegen und daher super geeignet um dort für einen Amsterdam Ausflug unter zu kommen. Bei den Übernachtungskosten ist das Frühstück nicht dabei, dies kann man durchaus auch außerhalb zu sich nehmen. Das Buffet ist ok, allerdings dem Preis aus meiner Sicht nicht angemessen. Die Zimmer waren ok, […] sauber, vom Komfort her nicht in der Spitzenklasse (keine Minibar, keine Badewanne, kein Schrank, kein Safe, Fernseher vorhanden). Es gibt einen Nachtportier der für einen angenehmen Empfang zu später Stunde sorgt und auch sonst ist das Personal sehr hilfsbereit. Super ist, dass es für Hotelgäste einen günstigen und Video-überwachten Parkplatz gibt und dass der Bahnhof gerade einmal 10 Gehminuten entfernt ist. Nach Amsterdam kommt man mit dem Zug in ca 30 Minuten. Read more

Wat een grote teleurstelling was, was dat we er bij vertrek achter kwamen dat we een boete hadden gekregen, omdat we blijkbaar op de algemene parkeerplek stonden. We hadden nog expliciet gevraagd of we wel goed stonden. Toen er werd gevraagd of binnen de hekken stonden, dachten we dat we goed stonden (aangezien […] er aan twee kanten hekken staan). Achteraf bleek dat we nog verder de parkeerplaats op moesten en moesten aanbellen om echt een afgezet parkeerterrein van het hotel op te kunnen. Dit was ons niet duidelijk medegedeeld. DIT MAG ECHT DUIDELIJKER AANGEGEVEN WORDEN (met duidelijkere borden i.p.v. een klein bord op het hek van de juiste parkeerplek, want die zie je niet als de algemene parkeerplaats volstaat). Zeer ongeinteressierde personeel, bij de receptie bij in en out cheken! Boj het binnenkomst in de ontbijt zaal werd niet eens begroet, want kopjes omdraaien is veel belangrijker! Bij vertrek ook geen groet!
