Business Hotel Room in Well Known Nara Hotel.
They gave me a room in new building, was exactly same as upper level of business hotel in Tokyo. However, Nara Hotel new bldg's room, some reasons, very very poorest conditions of Hot-water system and Air condition system. They didn't work properly. Results of it, I couldn't warming up the room and I catched a cold. Their GM said it was coldest weather in past 10 years. (22 - 23 Jan, 2016)

Lovely, elegant, old hotel.
The staff was extremely courteous and deferential. Everything was elegant. Food was top-notch. They had both French and Japanese cuisine. The French onion soup was the best week ever tasted. The waiters wore white gloves and white jackets. We watched our futons being put down. I have never seen two men work so fast it was almost comical with them in their business suits moving the futons around. The hotel is an old facility but still elegant in a time one way. . I hope to stay here again.

Hotel Nara looks great but needs a lot of work
The hotel setting is great and staff is nice but the maintenance is poor and hotel needs work. We went to a so called French restaurant in the hotel and the server used a skinny glass for red wine and wide one for white, and we had trouble explaining ourselves. Not his fault but it is not an easy dining room for non a Japanese speakers. The Japanese restaurant was better. Our room was worn out and we saw some mold under the tub. But the location is good. Still it is expensive for this modest quality.

Close walk to 5 level Pagoda
A wonderful restored Japanese Arts and Crafts Hotel. Serene setting on a hillside overlooking a large pond. Short walk to Shinto shrine, a 5 story Pagada, and park with Nara deer. Also a back way to walk to restaurants and the covered shopping area. Enjoyed the Japanese breakfast in the elegant dining room with the waitresses in British style uniforms. Interesting photos of Japanese royalty (emperor and family members) who have stayed at the hotel. So glad we stayed there.
