We had a garden bungelow in about 150ft walking distance from the beach sitting in the lush gardens that form most of the resort property. Pink Sands is the perfect spot for a romantic beach getaway. Comparing Pink Sands@Harbour Island to other destinations in the Caribean (e.g. British Virgins, Turks&Caicos) the hotel is comparable in terms of quality […] and price. Better in terms of beach worse in terms of scuba diving (independent vendor). Comparing Pink Sands to other"dream" locations world-wide (e.g. Seychelles), price value is worse. What we particulary liked: - Exceptional beach with fine, pink sand. Very few people. Clear, clean, turquois water. - Having breakfast, lunch and a sunset cocktail at the Blue Bar overlooking beach and ocean - Exploring the island with our rented golf cart - Nicely decorated, clean bungelow - Friedly and helpfull staff - Lush gardens at the hotel with chicken running around (you have to love crowing roosters in the morning) What we liked less: - Only scuba dive shop on the island is providing very expensive, short dives at a limited number of spots with little fish (independent vendor) - Some cocktails taste like being made from "artificial" pre-mixes (at NYC price level) - Dinner is pricy and menu is not changing during the week. As result we were dining out more often. - Promised pick-up at the airport did not show up. Pink Sands Webpage paints a better picture than reality. The only reason my overall rating is a "4" and not "3" is due to the completely AWESOME beach. I can only speak for our room, and Is sadly in need of update. Holes in walls, cracked missing floor tiles, rusted bathroom fixtures faucets...no really--rusted. It was a very "tired" room. Even after […] maid cleaned, my feet turned black from walking around in the room. The beach staff was amazing, and food manager did his best to make us happy for dissapointing dinner which actually did make us happy with free dinner service. You NEED to bring your own food to cut down on the average $35 dollar a person lunch, and $45 dollar a person dinner. Dunmore town is a 5 min walk for grocery shopping, but don't go after saturday as the supply ship comes once a week (thursday). Also, they DO NOT have a return policy, so if the weather completely STINKS the week you're there, prepare to get a credit for future stay. Lastly, this is a resort for relaxation...really nothing to do besides the bar, beach, and the fitness room which is the way we liked it---only if we had some sunshine would it have been a better week. We stayed at the pink sands for six nights. The airport transfer to the hotel were very good. Soloman from the hotel was waiting for us (with a sign) and wisked us off to the harbor for the water taxi and ride to the resort. Very nice service. The checkin went well and our thrust was quenched with a glass of champagne while we checked in. Room was comfortable […] but like previous reviews they seemed dated. We came because of the pink sand beach and you will not be disappointed. Great beach. The blue bar is convent for breakfast and drinks. Be prepared to spend money for food as prices are high. We stocked up on munchies and drinks (wine and beer) at the local stores. Make sure you visit queen concho and ma ruby for dining. They are a reasonable alternative to the resort restaurants. The food at the terrace restaurant is better than the corral sands but be prepared for a large bill. The golf cart rentals are readily available but again expect to pay $45-$53/day. We did walk over to the dunmore beach club and the facilities look in better shape. All in all it was an excellent vacation for us because the pink sand beach was worth it. One item they could do is at least provide a cart service to the water taxi harbor when you check out as we had to take a taxi which cost $5/person. For this price they should provide the same departing services as those when you arrived for the amount of money you pay per night. Read more

We loved this place. Quiet and laid back, we were always the only persons at the pool. No doubt as the place to be is the pink sand beach. No jostling to find a spot. Really lovely beach and ocean here. This hotel is quiet, a bit quirky but oh so lovely. Everyone has their own little cottage tucked into the jungle with roosters and baby chicks all over. […] We travelled with our 2 girls ages 8 and 5. I was worried they'd be bored but not so. Just loved the quiet pace of hanging out at the beach. Clear gentle aqua waters with beautiful fine sand. Did I mention it was Spring Break and oh so quiet. No waiting in lines to eat, etc.... Food delicious in all the places we tried from Pink and Coral Sands to Dunmore Beach Club to Runaway Hill and Sip Sip and The Landing. I hope it stays just as it is ...a quiet, luxury hideaway. The hotel had just come through a bad hurricane and we felt that some minor maintenence in the rooms had been neglected because of this. Otherwise we had a wonderful stay and the staff was very attentive and friendly. Would recommend this for a completely laid back beach vacation. Our cottage was secluded and private, and we were visited by chickens […] twice a day looking for a handout! If you are looking for nightlife or lots of activities this is not the place to go. Pink Sands was everything we expected and more. Beautiful setting, top notch location, fabulous food, and above all, an outstanding staff. We stayed in an oceanfront cottage (Cabbage Cay). It was spacious, clean, and well stocked. Attention to cleanliness and supplies was constant. The outdoor patio was wonderful. Its like your own private paradise. […] Very low key and quiet, super private. The hotel and the island were spotlessly clean. Staff gets 5 stars plus, so friendly and helpful, a joy! Beach access easy and beautiful clean beach. Food and drink outstanding but pricey (but that was expected). The island and hotel both felt very safe. This is an excellent honeymoon spot! We travel extensively and without a doubt, this was the best service we have ever encountered. I can't say enough about the whole experience of Harbour Island - what a wonderful friendly place! Enjoy the hotel food but do venture out to other places...walk or rent a golf cart. Eat at Valentine's (ribs out of this world) and Sip Sip and definitely give Arthur's Bakery a try early in your visit...because you will want to return again. Can't say enough good about Pink Sands...if you enjoy a low key beach atmosphere and friendly people all around, this is the place for you. Read more
