The hotel is located in the best spot in the city, the swimming pool is good and the beach is great. however, the room was very old fashioned. the bed was not comfortable, the mattress was divided to 2 and if you sleep in the middle you get back ache. the hair dryer was from the era it was invented (it took my wife 3 hours to dry her hair). the taps […] came out of the wall. and for some time we didn't have cold water in the shower (however, the reception offered a new room immediately) to sum up, we enjoyed the location, the service and the food very much. the room was the only problem. We enjoyed our short stay here. The lobby is exquisite, the breakfast buffet is MUCH more than we expected with excellent service, the pool was large with plenty of loungers and bars, and the staff tried to accommodate us despite the fact that we can't speak Spanish. We got a recommendation from a friend about this hotel and everything was as expected. We got a little lost finding it but after we got directions it was easy to find, and easy to get to for the rest of our vacation. Parking is limited (but free) and only once did we have trouble finding somewhere to park. There is a real nice beach across the street […] and there are several pools available within the complex. We have just returned from a week at the Mediterranean Palace Hotel. To say we were disappointed is an understatement! The first room we were given was a 'standard mountain view'. Where to start... It was tiny, dated, dirty, in disrepair and smelt disgusting. Please see pics. After complaining, we were offered an upgrade to a suite with pool view at […] extra cost. The second room was nice (not great) and much cleaner although still dated. There is a policy that sunbeds were not to be reserved with towels but this was not enforced. Many had towels on all day with nobody using them. It was difficult at times to find two empty ones together. If we were going to spend the extra money on a hotel, we would have picked a proper 4 or 5*. I don't know who awards the stars but this could never be classed as more than 2* in the UK. On the positive side, the hotel is in a fabulous location and we had amazing weather! Read more

I don't think the hotel warrants a five star rating. There is a charge for using the mini bar and the gym. The bathroom is dated with the shower being over the bath and is quite dark. Room service was excellent.

stayed in room 1049. no fault to the staff, they done their duty , it's our sixth visit to your hotel. the decor of the hotel would really need to be updated. the bathrooms is very run down and the floors would need to be upgraded. a different colour of paint on the outside would not go amiss. i think we will give your hotel a miss next year

This was a 5 star hotel once upon a time but not anymore. I'd give it a 3 star rating. Its crying out for a refurbishment. The bedroom furniture is dated with a TV from the 1990's and there is mould/mildew in the bathrooms. An upgrade to a pool view is essential due to the noise from the road if you've opted for a mountain view room with road sweepers […] and deliveries waking you p at 6am and bars pumping out music until past 1am. Not worth paying for a sea view as the hotel is set back from the sea with the Sir Anthony blocking the view. I'd choose the Cleopatra for a more modern hotel or the Sir Anthony if you can afford it. This is the 3rd time that I've stayed in the Mediterranean Palace. Sadly, this will probably be our last stay in the Med Palace.We stayed in the Cleopatra in 2000 and had access to the facilities at the Med Palace back then, and the hotel looked amazing. Sadly, it's looking very tired now.This year we were upgraded to a pool view room, as opposed to […] a mountain view room.We were on the first floor directly above the restaurant, so from 7am in the morning, we could hear the noise of families and screaming kids at breakfast. The constant noise of cutlery being dropped into trays was also a familiar noise.Beds are far too uncomfortable in the rooms also. Music from around the pool/gym/kids club can also wake you up if you're overlooking the pool. The AC wasn't very powerful, with little diff to the temperature in the room, we told reception, who appeared to do nothing about it. There was a smell in the bathroom that wouldn't go and the corridors smelt of urine.Breakfast was disappointing, if you go after 8am, they dont replenish much. Cleanliness of the rooms is ok, but very quick and only cleans the surface. Some cream was spilt on the floor, which they just smeared around, rather than properly cleaning it. Beds by the pool could all do with being replaced, they're all sagging in the middle. It's a shame, but it was good in it's time, but definitely needs a face lift. Read more

I like the fact that you get complimnetary glass of cava on arrival (i know it is not expensive plonk, and is a small glass) but it is in my opinion a nice touch. This was our 3rd time to stay at The Mediterranean Palace and by far the worst stay. On arrival, they had no record of receiving our full payment of our stay which was made to hotels.com back in April. This resulted in a heated debate at reception for over an hour which we found extremely upsetting and it wasn't until 2 days later that they admitted […] to a computer error.
