      The Alexander is a short walk from the train station and convenient to all the fun of the Old Town in Zurich. We were given an upgrade from the Guesthouse to the Main Hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. We were right among the cobblestone alleys of the Old Town and only 5 minutes walk from the shopping along Bahnhofstrasse. We'll stay at the Alexander again on our next trip.

    We only booked this hotel to spend one night before catching an early train next day. The beds are setup on the european way. It was supposed to be a king bed, but they only provided two indiviual duvets, I felt like I was sleeping on a slepping bag over a king bed, weird. The room was small, but ok. Breakfast was supposed to end at 10 am, but at 9:50 […] am they were already putting away stuff, no matter people was walking in. Read more

    Liked the hotel, first room, the bathroom too small for comfort. They did change our room without a problem, for a room that was slightly bigger with a larger bathroom. We were very satisfied. I would consider this hotel again. It is so close to trams and the main station. Also department store across the street. Very quiet for a downtown hotel.

    The title says everything, it is all about the location and convenience to the Bahnhofstrasse ( 5th Ave or Rodeo Dr. of Zurich) as well as the main train station and museums. The Seidenhof hotel has smaller rooms, like the other reviews mention, but certainly comfortable and quite. The included breakfast is a big plus and very good, saving you time […] and francs. After using the Swiss made Nespresso coffee machine in the room, you will want to buy one when you get home, it is that good. No matter if you are visiting for business or pleasure, be sure to take the 20 min train ride to the Top of Zurich (Uetliberg ) Enjoy! Read more

    Not fancy but very decent, the staff is very friendly. Stayed 2 night with a friend, we had 2 single rooms and was nice to be there. You can walk 5 minutes from the Zurich train station and arrive the hotel. Walk 10 minutes in a fancy street and reach the Zurich Lake. Everything is walking distance from the hotel. One night was raining and the hotel […] lent us umbrellas, that was a very nice detail. Some of the best restaurants in Zurich are 2 or 3 minutes away. Read more

    I was put in a room on the second floor facing the street. The rooms was always stiffeling and if I opened the window it was so noisy I couldn't think. It was so loud at night when I was trying to sleep that I was not able to sleep for almost 3 nights. And this hotel was quite expensive. The bathroom as tiny but the shower was miniscule. On the up […] side, the rate included breakfast (basically a continental breakfast), the staff was very competent and professional and the hotel was very clean. Water in the tiny shower was hot and strong! Location to rail, shopping and businesses was quite good but location also added to the down side of the noise factor.     The rooms are clean, the staff is smiling and helpful. The service is enough unless you expect a luxury stay. The hotel can be recommended especially for business travellers. It is only 10min walk to main station and 2 min walk to tram stop. Location is perfect. When I go Zurich again, I will look at this hotel first.

    Stayed 6 days. Best location in central Zurich, 60 yards from Banhoffstrasse. Excellent reception staff, breakfast and housekeeping service. If you can ask for an interior room, (some noise from Sihlstrasse). Would recomend it for both business and pleasure. Will return.

    Just off the Bahnhofstrasse. the Hotel Seidenhof is convenient to the main railway station and both the new and old towns of Zurich. We stayed during a heat wave, and we were very glad of the efficient air conditioning. The breakfast is very good. In all, a basic, comfortable hotel in a good location.

    As others mentioned, the location is very convenient. The staff was friendly, and the room was good for the price. The hotel tried to overcharge me using the "convert charges to foreign currency and tack on a few percent, hoping the customer won't notice" scam. Lots of other hotels do the same, but it's still annoying.

    The hotel is located right off of Bahnhofstrasse in Zurch, an easy 7 minute walk to the main train station. The hotel staff is very friendly and speak many languages. I checked in in the morning and left my luggage with them since my room wasn't ready. When I returned in the evening, my luggage was waiting for me in the room! The single room was clean […] with hair dryer, shampoo/body soap, shower cap, and a nail file (!) in the bathroom. Nice big bathtub too. There was an espresso maker in the room for free espressos, but it took me a while to figure out how to work it. The ONLY drawback of the hotel for me was that there was a charge for Internet usage. I believe there is also a charge for watching TV. There is a heater/AC in the room. I had to leave early for the airport, and there was a card with coffee in the lobby. The price was extremely reasonable for a hotel in a major city! I would highly recommend it and go back again. Read more

    The Hotel was under partly under renovation and my first room was next to the construction. I complained and was immediately moved. Like in many Hotels in Europe to go on-line is complicated and expensive.

    although the hotel is not the most luxurious, it was priced reasonably, was very clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. It is very convenient as it is 3 blocks from the train station. It is located in a very savvy shopping district. I would recommend this hotel.
