"LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
This little hotel has location, location, location! It is less than 5-10 minutes walking distance to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, & Tempolo Adriano. It is about 15-20 minutes from the Coliseum, the Forum, and Vittoria Emmanuelle, around 25-30 minutes from Piazza del Popolo, and a half hour from the Vatican. Seconds away from the main artery Via Del Corso, you can’t get a better location for a more reasonable price. The front desk staff is wonderful and Tomosso in particular will not hesitate to recommend the best restaurants and tell you how to get to all the sites within Rome. He recommended fabulous restaurants and mapped out a walkable itinerary of sites daily for us. If you don’t care to walk, the hop on hop off bus is two minutes away. What really sets this hotel apart is the 5th floor outside deck with a panoramic view which is used for breakfast in the morning and a possible night cap at night. What a way to start and end a day. It was beyond gorgeous and really a delightful highlight to a memorable stay in Rome. The rooms are big enough to accommodate two easily and are clean and neat. The only difficulty I encountered was that I was unable to connect to Wi-Fi but instead used the downstairs computer. Some of the rooms on the upper floors are only accessible by a short stairway which is difficult with heavy luggage. Other than that, our stay was perfect and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Excellent, convenience to airport was essential.

We did not get information that payment by card was not accepted. The breakfast was poor, bread from yesterday, cerials too sweet. The juice was more like lemonade than fruit-juice.
"Would stay there again"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Had a great experience. Our triple room was clean and bed very comfortable, including pillows. 40 inch hd tv with all the sky channels with the options to switch to English language. Filled a form with time and choices for breakfast . Arrived on time and plenty of food. ( Italian style breakfast) . Front desk nice and helpful. Near American embassy, hard rock cafe' , villa borghese park( very nice!) . Would stay there again and reccomand it to friends and family

Made famous by ‘La Dolce Vita’ film in 1960, the Via Veneto is going through a glamorous renaissance. Bars, restaurants, chic hotels and boutiques all vie for attention in the street which coined the expression ‘paparazzo’ – the surname of the photojournalist in the film. Nearby, the Spanish Steps are the place for lovers’ trysts, shopping, and honing the Italian art of ‘dolce far niente’ – idling and people-watching.
see all hotels in RomeRoom was so small that we could barely walk around the bed and there were no drawers in which to put clothes. The buffet breakfast, however, was outstanding and the location very convenient. Front desk staff could be friendlier. The room was much smaller than the photo for that level of accommodation
"Great little hotel in Rome!"
Love the Empire Palace! My one and only complaint is that our room had no Wi-Fi signal - and we had to take our laptops to the lobby lounge area. And since we were not alone in the lounge I can only assume most guests had the same issue. Other than that everything - from the bed to the linens to the bathroom to the location - was perfect. And right […] around the corner there is an INCREDIBLE and affordable restaurant! Read more
"Great hotel, not a fabulous location though"
Fantastic breakfast, great public spaces and rooms. But the location is a bit far from the "action" in Rome, so be prepard for lots of walking.
"Good quality/price ratio, would stay here again."
From a travel industry professional's point of view (I own and run a tour company called Nada's Italy), I've stayed in many hotels and have booked many hotels for my clients as well, and I would say that this hotel is a good choice for both business and leisure. Free wifi is a plus. Breakfast is ok, nothing too exciting but enough to start the day. […] Tip: ask the waiter to bring you a REAL cappuccino so you don't have to drink the instant coffee soup at the buffet table (they didn't charge me extra). They are definitely understaffed at breakfast time for a 4-star hotel, which should offer table service. The rooms are nice and airy, larger than the average "Italian hotel room", large windows, but simple decor. For a 4-star hotel the furnishings are very basic, but decent. Guests should know that even though this hotel is away from the "hustle and bustle" of more crowded areas in Rome, the street where it is located, Via Nazionale, gets quite a bit of traffic at night time too. However, most hotels in historical centers are going to have a bit of noise, so guests should be aware of that (perhaps bring ear plugs). I would stay here again. Read more
"Family trip to Rome"
We had 12 extended family members join together for 5 days in Rome and we stayed at this hotel. The staff were wonderful and the hotel was great. We would return in a heartbeat.
"Good place"
Pros: Location near train station; excellent breakfast--much better than the typical tourist hotel breakfast; good service by front desk; nicely decorated, very good condition, and clean; free Internet in Lobby Cons: no wifi in the rooms.
"Empire Palace, Rome, Italy"
I found everyone to be friendly and helpful. The breakfast served daily was a nice way to start off the day. They had a nice variety of food. My room was rather small, a single room but was very clean. Plenty of hot water. The bed was comfortable. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Great location and close to metro.

"The Empire Palace, appropriately named..."
My family and I stayed at the Empire Palace Hotel in Rome over the 2011 Thanksgiving Holidays. This was a last minute change from my original hotel plans, and I couldn't have been happier. This hotel was fantastic. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and facilities were excellent. I would definately consider staying here again on my next […] visit to Rome. The only drawback was the location. The Hotel is located in a fantastic neighborhood, but is at least a 20 minute walk away from the major attractions. Read more

"Empire Palace Hotel Rome"
Nice location, limited traffic street, near embassies and government buildings. Church bell rings at 8:30 AM. Walked to Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Coliseum, etc. Weather in August hit 38° C or 100° F. Cab ride to Vatican and Trestavere district is about 10 Euros. Great buffet breakfast, saves lots of money. Room had king size bed, night stands, […] armoire, lamps, desk, chair, computer monitor tv, no clock, muzak, and central a/c. Baths had marble and chrome fixtures, bath robes, slippers, full size shampoo, lotions. Staff speaks english. Read more

"Empire Palace"
Nice hotel, good location, good restaurant, better than average breakfast. Small rooms and a lot of early morning noise being on the 1st floor facing the street.

"Great quality, good location"
The hotel has a good location, has a very modern lobby, good breakfast, and is actually very close to Roma Termini and Via Nazionale - the surrounding area is very nice, great restaurants near (Eduardo Rest - Great Italian food). The decor meets high level expectations. The first room we were given the first night was extremely small, apparently the […] hotel was over-booked. The remaining nights, after talking to the management team, we were changed to a better room, awesome space, which is more of what I was waiting to see. After the change, I can say that everything was as expected. Read more
"Empire Palace - Charming Friendly Hotel in Rome"
We enjoyed our 4 day stay at this hotel. The rooms were small but very comfortable and quiet. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakast buffet is extensive and the wait staff was very accomodating. The neighborhood is charming, three nice trattorias around the corner and convenient for running in the Villa Borghese park.
"Empire Palace Hotel, Rome - Great breakfast buffet"
The hotel was quiet, had great bed linens, and a wonderful fresh breakfast buffet. We were so pleased to find our first buffet that included eggs, meats, and lots of fresh fruits along with the typical yummy Italian pastries. Best hotel cappuccino in our 2 week vacation.
"Good Value"
This hotel was a good value. Although the rooms were on the small side (typical for Europe), they were clean and had a towel heating bar in the bath. The front desk staff was courteous and helpful, although a bit understaffed at times for the volume of requests. The complimentary breakfast buffet was fantastic and the hotel is situated in a lovely, […] quiet area called Quirinale. It's about 10 minutes to the main train terminal and a 15 minute walk to the Spanish Steps and a short subway ride to other great points in the city. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again, but if you want to be closer to the tourist destinations, this may not be your first pick. Read more
"Very good Location and free Breakfast"
I stayed there in the month of Oct. it was bit pricy but location was awesome and close to all attaractions like Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Colloseo etc and also close to public transport ( Termini and Bus stops). Hotel serve complimentary English breakfast which is awesome. Hotel does not provide free internet facility which should be improved even […] business center does not have free internet. Airport shuttle from Hotel are very pricy i end up paying 60 Euro instead of 55 which was told by hotel Reservation. Overall this is good place to stay. Read more

"Great Small Hotel"
Nice little quality hotel in good location...close to the "up and down" bus stops...close to Via V Veneto shopping & Harry's Bar...close to Borghese Gardens.
"Rome Stay"
Nice hotel convenient to the Metro and tourist attractions.
"Excellent value for money"
What a superb place: clean, very well kept, friendly service, and a few nice touches around the edges. Given the price I was worried that I might be disappointed but it exceeded my expectations. Lovely old building, nice quiet location but very close to the centre of town and some excellent restaurants within 100 yards. Good breakfast too. I'll definitely […] go back again. Read more
"Great hotel for the price"
I spent a lot of time looking at hotels in Rome prior to booking. This hotel was in a good location close to the train station and metro line. Hotel lobby was very nice. The room was great for the price. Small bathroom and bedroom but this is Rome. Quiet street out front with no noise at night. Would stay here again.
"Good deal"
Nice hotel, rooms small even for European standards, but had a great breakfast and in a nice location.
"Nice Hotel"
This hotel was an excellent hotel in Rome, 10 minutes from Termini and about 20 minutes from the Forum and other sites. The breakfast was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel. Some others have noted small rooms and hard beds, but the rooms here were standard European size and the beds were great. I guess that they had never traveled outside the […] US. "Nice small hotel with good service"
Nice small and clean hotel, just 5min walk from city. Good breakfast and not any traffic sounds.
The room was too small and the bed was way too hard. The shower head is on the wrong wall and was leaking on the floor everywhere. Everywhere around the world hotels offer an iron but because there was no irons allowed in the rooms we had to pay 18 euro to get 3 shirts ironed. I think that is disgraceful and will not be reccomending this hotel to a […] nyone. Read more
"Clean Hotel near to Spanish Steps & Termini"
Hotel is clean, staff were super friendly and helpful both in pointing out good places to eat. Hotel itself is a historic building and has a nice court yard and nice sitting areas. Breakfast is included and very good, though not overly extensive - it does have hot food (eggs, bacon and sausage). There are two very good spots to eat, which are not overpriced, […] within the 1 block that the hotel sits. Ristorante La Lampada and Ristorante La Pentolaccia. There's also a small grocery right around the corner to get water for less than half the price of street vendors. Read more
"Brilliant hotel would defintely recommend"
Had a brilliant stay at the empire palace hotel. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Rooms are small but very comfortable and modern. Internet in room is not cheap €5 per hour and the connection isn't great, cheaper internet cafes 5 mins away. Very near city centre, bout 15 mins of a walk to trevi fountain, 5 to 10 mins walk from main railway station […] although taxi driver took us on 15 min drive and charged us €20. Big buffet style breakfast which is lovely. Overall very nice hotel in a good location, would defintely go back there. Read more
Read more

"Hotell Empire Palace - Bra läge i lugnt område"
Hotellet Rekommenderas varmt. Read more
"Dejligt Hotel midt i Rom"
"Empire Palace Hotel i Roma - meget komfortabelt"
Meget behagelig hotel med frokost inkludert i prisen. Alt funngerer, air conditioning inkludert.
Pluss for store, tykke badekåper!
