My granddaughters and I stayed here for a cheer competition. The hotel is nice, halls are a little dark and narrow. We were in a separate building from the front desk and breakfast area which was a little inconvenient. The room itself was compact but comfortable. I'm told the sleeper sofa was very uncomfortable. But, overall it was a nice stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Wonderful cheerful staff. Breakfast was very basic, and we ended up eating breakfast elsewhere. Breakfast could be improved.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were in town for a funeral. The staff was very caring and understanding to our situation. The hotel was nice, but the breakfast was not that great. There was not much of a selection.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"anything can happen...."
The staff at this hotel are all extremely friendly, helpful and do a great job of making you feel at home. The place has recently been remodeled in a ketchup and mustard color scheme which is jarring at first but then you get used to it. I was there four nights and each one was different. The first night a big group of kids got thrown out of the hotel […] and set off the fire alarm before they left. The second night was completely silent. The third night I could hear the couple talking in the next room. The fourth night I could hear the guy SNORING in the next room. The hotel is pet friendly (I love dogs) but you can sometimes hear them barking. The hotel is squeezed into an industrial area that is strangled with big ticket shopping (K-Mart, Best Buy etc.) but you CAN walk to a movie theatre. But overall, believe it or not, I had a good time. :) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent for our travel to and from New Orleans. When I'm in the area again, I will certainly stay there. I think I've found a home away from home. We enjoyed being close to the shopping mall, and excellent eating places.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

very good hotel - staff are very friendly and helpfulGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel exceeded my expectations. The room were nice and clean, beds very comfortable, the pool was exceptionally clean to be outside, and the the hotel was located in a great area. Only thing was the continental breakfast was very skimpy, I've always had continental breakfasts with much more options. Will definitely return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are coffee shops, restaurants, shopping, and a movie theater all within a five minute drive. The drive to Bourbon Street/Jackson Square/River Walk/the aquarium is about 25-30 minutes. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any visitors who don't mind the […] drive into the city. "Not happy with service at all"
We arrived after a 12 hour ride and were excited about having a vacation without kids. When we arrived we were told that we couldn't pay for our room with cash. After being treated poorly because we didn't have a credit card that would cover our whole reservation. We were told they could not split the payment on two separate cards. We were told they […] were overbooked and that if we couldn't pay for all of our reserved nights we couldn't stay. Website says we could pay with cash when we arrived. Very unhappy and when contacted general manager following Monday we felt like this company really doesn't know what they are doing. Nor do they care if guests are end arrested by their employees. Good luck if you decide to book this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

This hotel was newly renovated and extremely clean. Carolyn and the staff were awesome and very hospitable. Full kitchen, spacious living area and safe surroundings. Close enough to restaurants and free breakfast (continental). I would surely stay again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient if you're in town for work and no play"
It wasn't exactly the nicest place in the world, but it got the job done. Definitely a little overpriced for the quality. However, if you need to be close to all of the warehouses then this is the place to be. I was in town for business and the location was absolutely perfect, I was less than 5 minutes from where I needed to be.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

This property is located in Metairie, a 20 minute drive from downtown New Orleans and the French Quarter. The property was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included with the room. Located near many "big box" stores.

While this wasn't my case this is a wonderful hotel for a prolonged stay. There is a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave and range for cooking and the room is very well laid out. The service staff is very very kind and professional. Of especial note for me is breakfast captain Sherri. I wen't to New Orleans to visit my best friend that lives there. Sherri made sure that everything was working out and that I was taken care of. In addition to making sure breakfast was always excellent, and the dining area was tidy she even made sure to proactively ask me how my trip was coming along. She is what made my stay 10/10.
"Badly in need of a upgrade..."
03/05/15 19KingFifty84 Albany, Georgia
I pretty much live in Marriott Hotels 345 out of 365 days a year, and this one is just about completely worn out. It really needs a upgrade our room was practically falling apart. The carpet smelled of cigarettes and wet dogs. The bathtub wouldn't finish draining until ten minutes after you got done showering. The furniture was stained, the sheets actually had little holes in them, etc, etc. I used almost all of my points to stay here as a anniversary gift for my wife, and now I wish I would have just broke the bank and stayed down town. THE STAFF IS GREAT and its a shame but the hotel just couldn't cut it. TERRIBLE
"Very nice staff, clean property but....."
02/03/15 Dana H Highlands Ranch, Colorado
The staff is pleasant so I feel bad leaving this review but....... If you are used to staying in Marriott Properties, you will not experience what you are used to with Marriott. The lobby is TINY and when I say tiny, I mean barely enough room for more than a few guests to check in. No big deal but I was really surprised. The ceilings are so low and dark in the hall ways your eyes have to adjust. They don't have king size beds and the bedroom part of the property is so small its literally like sleeping in a camper bed. One person has to be on the side where the bed about touches the very loud, in wall bound AC unit. And the bed touches the TV so you can't get out of the bed at night without scooting down and crawling out the end of the bed. The dresser is behind the door and you have to close the bedroom door to get to it. This all being said, if you are getting a good price on this room, and you have kids maybe this is the place for you. The kitchen is CLEAN, the towels are decent, sheets are decent but bed is low quality. It is a clean property. If you are not getting a really good price, I think you could do better staying at the Residence in not far from here. That is what I will do next time. Unless, I get a great deal, then I may stay here again.

Very nice place, friendly staff. Was a nice getaway. And the room was very nice. Full kitchen A++ Good location right in the middle of everything and just a hop skip and jump to get back on the the interstate.

GREAT STAY, between the airport and town, and a fabulous value for what we paid .. .. Ideal for a bit of fun, sharing a large parking lot with a hug AMC THEATER COMPLEX and FAIR GROUND RACETRACK OTB just next door :))))))) .. .. Lotsa places to eat a short drive away and the fabulous CHARLIE'S SEAFOOD down the road on Jefferson Highway .. .. DAVID was kind and helpful when we checked in and even bought us up our SOFABED BEDDING when we couldn't find it in the room .. .. Breakfast room chief SHERRI who recommended CHARLIE'S SEAFOOD down the street and it was great .. .. She is such a delight that my Mum got her a small gift on our last morning (Monday) .. .. Everything is just as it should be for a TOWNPLACE SUITES with a huge workstation for those who bring their laptops + printers .. .. TERRIFIC VALUE FOR THE GREAT RATE WE GOT ~ THANKS TOWNPLACE SUITES!!!
"I would NEVER stay here again!"

We stayed 5 nights. Checked in with family and had requested the same floor, but that wasn't going to happen until I told them it was a must! That's a SMALL thing, in and of itself. However, we got into our room and found several lightbulbs out and a microwave that didn't work. Sorry, but at $149 a night, that's just not acceptable. Two nights in, in the middle of the night water started pouring down into our bathroom, deeming it unusable, not acceptable! We have 2 small kids that often times use the bathroom in the middle of the night. They wanted us to move rooms, I told them if we moved, it'd be to another hotel. They told us the kids upstairs left the shower curtain outside of the tub during their shower, but I knew that was a lie (our kids do this at home often and it doesn't leak through an entire floor). Later they admitted it was a drain issue. The keycard reader to the outside door was being fixed at least 4 different times during our stay and at times was unusable :( The breakfast was not good and had limited choices! The bathroom door of all doors didn't latch at all! The staff seemed nice enough and wanted to please . . . the General Manager told us she'd credit us 2 nights free AND mark the other 3 nights down to $99, but when I checked out that had not been taken care of. It took almost a half hour to check out because of this error and I had even went down to the front desk the night before to ask nicely that they make sure my bill was correct prior to my check out! Then when she charged me with the changes, I got to the car and noticed that they still owed me $57 more. I called the hotel and asked for the GM and was told she wasn't in, when I knew she was. I called corporate and they said they couldn't credit my account the $57 but would contact the hotel. They said they would have the GM call me and they would call me too, but as of today, four days later, no one has contacted me. I did get an email that they credited my account $40, now they still owe me $17! UGH! What a pain in the neck. I know others have had a great experience here, but why take the chance? There are far better hotels than this one and even cheaper!
"Comfortable, convenient, friendly"
12/20/14 Vikingtraveller59 Sterling, Virginia
I used this hotel because it was convenient to some business meetings and the airport. I was very happy with the choice. The staff was consistently friendly over my two night stay. The staff was very helpful at getting our large business group taxicabs wherever we needed to go; the Metary Taxi Cab company was a very dependable and fast service for us while we were here, taking us to Frenchmen's Street, the airport, and points in between. My hotel room was very clean and spacious. I could have used a bit more bedroom size and a bit less living room size, but for an extended stay I can see how the large living quarters would be very comfortable. The desk design is great, allowing me to comfortably get a lot of work done while I was here. The breakfast is just fair, but it suited my needs, and started early enough to allow me to catch breakfast on my way home. I would definitely use this property again.
"First Impressions not great. And I don't seem to be alone."

The reason I am taking the time to write this isn’t to spread negativity. I don’t want to “Rant and Rave” about a negative experience I had at a location because that isn’t the case. I do however want to leave a note for those visiting here. Location: This hotel is very close to a lot of great shopping areas. Anyone visiting (especially around the Holiday Season as my team saw first hand) will love the available stores. Marshalls, Big K & Best Buy to name a few. There’s also a Wal-Mart about 1.5 miles away as well, making this a great location. Want to catch a movie late at night in your jammies? Have at it. There’s a huge movie theatre across the parking lot you can see from your room. It is legit across the parking lot, not across the street. My company enjoyed how close we were to Downtown Nola. We were far enough that we weren’t experience what we call “Tourist Overflow” but were close enough that a drive down wasn’t an inconvenience. Hotels that have a great sales team will work with you on rates, so if your stay is extended or you are with a business, I HIGHLY recommend speaking to the Sales Dep. to see if there are any deals on rates available to you. Doesn’t hurt to ask! Customer Service & Staff: This is where my displeasure came from. I did enjoy the staff for the most part. They (I think his name is Richard or John [Front Desk associate]), the elderly woman that was working Breakfast, and a few other Front Desk staff that I interacted with were kind. They greated as I would come and go and were extremely friendly. Sometimes I would come down and the Front Desk Staff would be sitting down on the sofa bench watching Tv I will say. That was a little uncomfortable when I would need them to get up to do something for me. Anyway.. The lost “Postive Stars” are notating an issue that arose between our Company’s Driver & the Assistant General Manager. We were staying in this location for 5 days and travel with an oversized vehicle. When booking our hotel stays we always make sure the hotel is aware of this and confirm that they can accommodate a vehicle this size. Most can, this one included, so we just made sure that the associate at check-in working was aware of who was responsible for this vehicle. Our driver wears branded uniforms that showcase our company’s logo that also matches the logo on the truck, and also matches the Company Name we have on our reservation; they knew who we were. Check in was fine. Our stay was fine. Upon our departing of the hotel Ms. Carolyn Bibbins, the Assistant Manager, made it very clear she wasn’t happy with how we had parked our vehicle during our stay by coming outside and telling us while we were loading our truck after we had checked out. “I had several guests that weren’t happy with you guys taking up 6 spaces. They were mad that they had to park right in front of their rooms & I’m going to take a hit for that.” We apologized for ANY inconvenience, but we had no idea that this was an issue. No one told us to park on the side of the lot or anywhere else for that matter. All 23 previous Marriott properties we’ve stayed at in 2014 have had no issues with this, either. Our Driver kindly asked her if she had called any of us in the 5 days that we were there to ask us to move our vehicle. Her response was “No, I called a few times but I didn’t leave a message to your room.” How on earth would we have known this was an issue? Why didn’t you have us fill out the Vehicle Reg. Form many other Marriotts have their guests fill out in the event something like this happens? Why are you telling us AFTER we’ve checked out and it’s too late? She continued. “Most people know better than to park a big truck like that so close and take up all those spots like that. Next time you guys come I’m going to have you elsewhere.” The odds of there being a next time are slim because of this extremely awkward exchange of words. She continued to tell us how upset she was with where we parked. We were there 5 days. She knew our company name. She knew our room numbers. She could have left a message. I honestly don’t appreciate the way this was handled. We would have been more than happy to move our vehicle but we had no idea that it was an issue. Marriott get guests of all types, from families to companies to flood victims to celebrities; we aren’t new to their set list. Ms. Bibbins continued. After getting our vehicle loaded and prepared for departure we went in to get our receipts for our rooms (that hadn’t been slipped under our door). Ms. Bibbins heard us asking for the receipt for our Driver when we said his last name and came forward from a back office. “Oh I know him. We know him. I tried to get him on the phone all weekend.” I assured her we were available to reach had she only left a message. We check our messages in our rooms. She then broadcasts “He was in room 4**. I can tell you right now, especially since all the calls I made to him.” I informed her we often are asked to sign paperwork (Vehicle Registration so the hotel knows who own vehicles on their lot) when checking in. “We don’t have thefts here. We don’t need that.” I didn’t want to argue or continue to go back and forth so we said our Thank Yous and left following this conversation. There are ways to let guests know you need them to move their vehicles. There are ways to speak to guests (everyone in my company is of Platinum Elite status) if you need them to work with you on something. Telling us she would “have us elsewhere” and that it’s our fault she would “be dealing with complaining guests for a while” isn’t in my mind a way to communicate your discomfort. I didn’t appreciate being scolded. We were willing and had to take her venting not once but twice on something that could have been entirely avoided. Aside from this, I cant imagine the normal guest would have any complaints. One or two nights I think it’s cool. If you are staying for an extended period, I hope it’s after Marriott has had a chance to rectify the way Associates are speaking to their (in our case tenured Elite) guests.
