The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent for our travel to and from New Orleans. When I'm in the area again, I will certainly stay there. I think I've found a home away from home. We enjoyed being close to the shopping mall, and excellent eating places.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

very good hotel - staff are very friendly and helpfulGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel exceeded my expectations. The room were nice and clean, beds very comfortable, the pool was exceptionally clean to be outside, and the the hotel was located in a great area. Only thing was the continental breakfast was very skimpy, I've always had continental breakfasts with much more options. Will definitely return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are coffee shops, restaurants, shopping, and a movie theater all within a five minute drive. The drive to Bourbon Street/Jackson Square/River Walk/the aquarium is about 25-30 minutes. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any visitors who don't mind the […] drive into the city. "Not happy with service at all"
We arrived after a 12 hour ride and were excited about having a vacation without kids. When we arrived we were told that we couldn't pay for our room with cash. After being treated poorly because we didn't have a credit card that would cover our whole reservation. We were told they could not split the payment on two separate cards. We were told they […] were overbooked and that if we couldn't pay for all of our reserved nights we couldn't stay. Website says we could pay with cash when we arrived. Very unhappy and when contacted general manager following Monday we felt like this company really doesn't know what they are doing. Nor do they care if guests are end arrested by their employees. Good luck if you decide to book this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Staff very helpful and friendly"
This hotel was newly renovated and extremely clean. Carolyn and the staff were awesome and very hospitable. Full kitchen, spacious living area and safe surroundings. Close enough to restaurants and free breakfast (continental). I would surely stay again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient if you're in town for work and no play"
It wasn't exactly the nicest place in the world, but it got the job done. Definitely a little overpriced for the quality. However, if you need to be close to all of the warehouses then this is the place to be. I was in town for business and the location was absolutely perfect, I was less than 5 minutes from where I needed to be.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Comfortable, convenient, friendly"

I used this hotel because it was convenient to some business meetings and the airport. I was very happy with the choice. The staff was consistently friendly over my two night stay. The staff was very helpful at getting our large business group taxicabs wherever we needed to go; the Metary Taxi Cab company was a very dependable and fast service for us while we were here, taking us to Frenchmen's Street, the airport, and points in between. My hotel room was very clean and spacious. I could have used a bit more bedroom size and a bit less living room size, but for an extended stay I can see how the large living quarters would be very comfortable. The desk design is great, allowing me to comfortably get a lot of work done while I was here. The breakfast is just fair, but it suited my needs, and started early enough to allow me to catch breakfast on my way home. I would definitely use this property again.

The reason I am taking the time to write this isn’t to spread negativity. I don’t want to “Rant and Rave” about a negative experience I had at a location because that isn’t the case. I do however want to leave a note for those visiting here. Location: This hotel is very close to a lot of great shopping areas. Anyone visiting (especially around the Holiday Season as my team saw first hand) will love the available stores. Marshalls, Big K & Best Buy to name a few. There’s also a Wal-Mart about 1.5 miles away as well, making this a great location. Want to catch a movie late at night in your jammies? Have at it. There’s a huge movie theatre across the parking lot you can see from your room. It is legit across the parking lot, not across the street. My company enjoyed how close we were to Downtown Nola. We were far enough that we weren’t experience what we call “Tourist Overflow” but were close enough that a drive down wasn’t an inconvenience. Hotels that have a great sales team will work with you on rates, so if your stay is extended or you are with a business, I HIGHLY recommend speaking to the Sales Dep. to see if there are any deals on rates available to you. Doesn’t hurt to ask! Customer Service & Staff: This is where my displeasure came from. I did enjoy the staff for the most part. They (I think his name is Richard or John [Front Desk associate]), the elderly woman that was working Breakfast, and a few other Front Desk staff that I interacted with were kind. They greated as I would come and go and were extremely friendly. Sometimes I would come down and the Front Desk Staff would be sitting down on the sofa bench watching Tv I will say. That was a little uncomfortable when I would need them to get up to do something for me. Anyway.. The lost “Postive Stars” are notating an issue that arose between our Company’s Driver & the Assistant General Manager. We were staying in this location for 5 days and travel with an oversized vehicle. When booking our hotel stays we always make sure the hotel is aware of this and confirm that they can accommodate a vehicle this size. Most can, this one included, so we just made sure that the associate at check-in working was aware of who was responsible for this vehicle. Our driver wears branded uniforms that showcase our company’s logo that also matches the logo on the truck, and also matches the Company Name we have on our reservation; they knew who we were. Check in was fine. Our stay was fine. Upon our departing of the hotel Ms. Carolyn Bibbins, the Assistant Manager, made it very clear she wasn’t happy with how we had parked our vehicle during our stay by coming outside and telling us while we were loading our truck after we had checked out. “I had several guests that weren’t happy with you guys taking up 6 spaces. They were mad that they had to park right in front of their rooms & I’m going to take a hit for that.” We apologized for ANY inconvenience, but we had no idea that this was an issue. No one told us to park on the side of the lot or anywhere else for that matter. All 23 previous Marriott properties we’ve stayed at in 2014 have had no issues with this, either. Our Driver kindly asked her if she had called any of us in the 5 days that we were there to ask us to move our vehicle. Her response was “No, I called a few times but I didn’t leave a message to your room.” How on earth would we have known this was an issue? Why didn’t you have us fill out the Vehicle Reg. Form many other Marriotts have their guests fill out in the event something like this happens? Why are you telling us AFTER we’ve checked out and it’s too late? She continued. “Most people know better than to park a big truck like that so close and take up all those spots like that. Next time you guys come I’m going to have you elsewhere.” The odds of there being a next time are slim because of this extremely awkward exchange of words. She continued to tell us how upset she was with where we parked. We were there 5 days. She knew our company name. She knew our room numbers. She could have left a message. I honestly don’t appreciate the way this was handled. We would have been more than happy to move our vehicle but we had no idea that it was an issue. Marriott get guests of all types, from families to companies to flood victims to celebrities; we aren’t new to their set list. Ms. Bibbins continued. After getting our vehicle loaded and prepared for departure we went in to get our receipts for our rooms (that hadn’t been slipped under our door). Ms. Bibbins heard us asking for the receipt for our Driver when we said his last name and came forward from a back office. “Oh I know him. We know him. I tried to get him on the phone all weekend.” I assured her we were available to reach had she only left a message. We check our messages in our rooms. She then broadcasts “He was in room 4**. I can tell you right now, especially since all the calls I made to him.” I informed her we often are asked to sign paperwork (Vehicle Registration so the hotel knows who own vehicles on their lot) when checking in. “We don’t have thefts here. We don’t need that.” I didn’t want to argue or continue to go back and forth so we said our Thank Yous and left following this conversation. There are ways to let guests know you need them to move their vehicles. There are ways to speak to guests (everyone in my company is of Platinum Elite status) if you need them to work with you on something. Telling us she would “have us elsewhere” and that it’s our fault she would “be dealing with complaining guests for a while” isn’t in my mind a way to communicate your discomfort. I didn’t appreciate being scolded. We were willing and had to take her venting not once but twice on something that could have been entirely avoided. Aside from this, I cant imagine the normal guest would have any complaints. One or two nights I think it’s cool. If you are staying for an extended period, I hope it’s after Marriott has had a chance to rectify the way Associates are speaking to their (in our case tenured Elite) guests.

We arrived just after midnight without a reservation. The desk clerk was very polite. The lobby and the area outside the lobby reeked of cigarette smoke. The hallways are dirty and dated. Our room was also dated in its appearance, but quite clean. It did not smell of smoke. There were no bell carts available, and the elevator was extremely slow, so it took us quite a while to actually move into our room. When I asked for a bell cart, I was told to just go look around for one. I did, none were visible. The suite was surpassingly large and well laid out. However, the bed in the bedroom (which was supposed to be a King) was very small. The room was quiet. The free breakfast was well done. Nothing fancy, but adequate and tasty.

So this hotel is in kind of a strange location in the middle of a bunch of parking lots in a large shopping area and is definitely confusing to find. It's about a 15-20 min drive into downtown New Orleans. We were able to stay here using Marriott points and it was fine for our needs. The rooms are large and comfortable and have a nice kitchen area with stove, sink, and fridge. The bathroom is good sized with a large tub that this six footer could stretch out in. Most importantly the room was very clean. The complimentary breakfast is basic but adequate and all of the staff I dealt with were quite friendly. My only complaint is that a couple rooms over there were two small dogs that barked quite a bit. Now I don't mind pets in hotels but I do think the hotel should make an effort to locate noisy dogs in an area away from a lot of traffic. These were in a central area and barked incessantly every time someone walked down the hall or got ice.
"Is this really a Marriott?"
Ok, so the location is awful (shame on me). However, the hotel itself has a bunch of problems. First, connecting to the wifi is a bit confusing, so of course I got attitude from the front desk when asking for help. Then my room. Oh my goodness. The TV was audio only, no picture. Solution by the front desk? "You have to wiggle the cable." Of course. My colleague had the same issue, so it wasn't just me. Then the toilet ran and the tub wouldn't drain. After the wifi debacle I didn't bother asking for help. Had business been longer than one night, I'd have checked out and gone elsewhere. Avoid this location! You (and Marriott) can do better.

After driving circles trying to find the entrance, I made it to the front desk. Very nice staff and quick and easy check-in. Maybe I am not used to staying at a place that allows pets, but I did not expect it to smell so bad. The stairwells, halls and elevator smelled like a wet stinking hound dog. My room smelled a little like a dog and really strong air freshener. Front desk assured me that the rooms were VERY clean. Seemed clean enough other than a few pubes on the toilet seat. Th a/c work great and I actually slept pretty good. The water gets hot enough for a decent shower but if you like a really hot one, you better go elsewhere. The tub did not drain well at all. Nothing like taking a shower in ankle deep water. I will certainly not be staying here again, but if you want to bring your smelly dog on a overnight stay, this is the place for ya'll!
"Large room, kind staff"

The hotel has a small, short sign that was hard to see from the road as we approached. We were greeted warmly at the front desk and quickly checked in. The room was large and clean. We were in town on pleasure, but I this would make for excellent lodging for anyone on business. Breakfast in the morning was good, and the lady working in the breakfast area was courteous and helpful. It was a good stay.
"Reception was exceptional, and the room was fine."

When I purchased my ticket for this trip, I didn't know that finding a somewhat reasonably priced hotel on the first night would be near impossible because of the Essence Music Festival that wrapped up last night. However, I had to find a room because I had already bought my plane ticket and my flight was arriving at 9:30 PM. Rooms were way over-priced everywhere, including this property. This was the best I could find within 30 minutes of the airport, even though the price I paid was far beyond the value of the property. Google maps took me directly from the airport, but the drive began to feel sketchy when I crossed a bridge that seemed to be leading to nowhere. Then, as I got to the hotel drive, I noticed a casino next door. None of this was a problem once I got settled because I went out to eat after checking in and the area around the hotel was ok. The young woman who checked me in was exceptional. She was warm, inviting and genuine. I had a problem as soon as I opened the door to my room. It smelled of smoke. I went back down and she immediately relocated me and then called to make sure that the new room was fine. That was a level of service that I didn't expect. The room was fine. It was clean and well decorated. And, it was quiet, which I was concerned about because I heard noise coming from rooms as I walked down the hall. I didn't hear a thing the entire night, even from the floor above. The common areas could use a lot of attention. The stairway, especially the front stairs, were in poor condition: dirty, over-worn carpet. The hallway leading to my room was dirty. I was concerned, until I got to my room. I commend the service and professionalism of the young woman who checked me in. I encourage management to have the floors vacuumed during the day. Giving attention to cleanliness will go a long way in making the property more pleasing to guests.

It is close to New Orleans, extremely clean, updated, has it's own kitchen, free wifi, breakfast and parking. Seriously, I could not ask for more. My profession requires me to travel A LOT and this is one of the best hotels I have been to recently

This hotel was hard to find but we had a great stay. The employees were super friendly and helpful. The restaurants that they recommended in the area were among the best meals we had during our stay in the new Orleans are.
