Econo Lodge Inn & Suites - Roseburg

I booked this hotel specifically for the indoor pool as I need to swim at least 5 days a weeks to keep me healthy. The pool was closed for a two week period without notification. The night desk clerk was terrible and seemingly unwilling to move out of her chair to help with anything. The TV did not have a guide so you had no idea what you were watching. […] When I asked for a channel guide the night desk clerk said, "It is in the room," Sure there was one in the room that was two months old. 4 story hotel with ice and snack machines only on the 1st and 2nd floor. Fantastic shower!!! Unfortunately we had a freeway side room and the noise was considerable. Sufficient amenities. I think the back entry could afford to be cleaned up a little, it looked very downtrodden. Overall, it was a good place to stay for an overnight.

I picked this hotel because it's pet-friendly and right off the freeway - both must-haves for me, as I was en route to Seattle. The location is great, but it is literally right next to the freeway, so you do get a little bit of noise. We stayed at this hotel a few years ago and it used to be much nicer. An indoor pool and convenient 1-5 access would definitely have us come back. We accidentally booked a double room online and it was very small for a family of four. Not the cleanest room or hotel but manageable for the price. The hotel provides free breakast which was awesome compared to som continental breakfasts we have seen. If we had not been previous guests I would not have known what the hotel was like before. Room was clean, but was on the second floor, no elivator. Senior citizen. Breakfast was reconsituted scrambled eggs, and bland sausage. Toast was good, juice was good. Would not stay there again.

The Staff was very nice and pleasant to correspond with. The hotel appeared to kept up well, with exception of a noisy hall a/c unit (that didn't get your attention unless your were going in or out). The Breakfast is what it is- plenty of beverages, fruit, cereal and bread products to get you going. This hotel is very close (walking distance) to a lot of services i.e. restaurants, grocery and department stores including a small mall and the areas hospital (Mercy) is walking distance which was my primary reason to stay there so I could visit a relative that was admitted there. It was hot weather and the room stayed cool which was nice to come back to each day. For an entry level hotel I'd give them a solid 4.5 if they offered .5 increments in the overall- it is what it is for a travel type in and out hotel- one of the better ones I've stayed in. Read more

We reserved a "Queen Suite" but when we got there it turned out to be a double queen with a couch. The couch was separated by a low wall. Not really a suite at all. Just one room. Reasonably clean. Pool was clean but seemed fairly worn. Continental breakfast provided (bagels, yogurt, cereal, etc). Staff was friendly.

The facilities are very functional and adequate for overnight stays, the location convenient to community amenities, and dining within walking distance. The pool and spa however could use some upgrading. If the pool part of your stay is important this is not the place to be.

I was traveling with my parents and their small dog. On our way south we stayed at the Motel 6 across the freeway. It was fine but very basic. For the return trip north, we switched to the Econo Lodge. The room was a bit bigger, plus it had a fridge and microwave. The breakfast was basic but worked for us. The woman who checked us in was very friendly […] and helpful. The hotel room showed some need for refurbishment and there was a musty smell in the lobby (presumably from the pool, etc.), but neither of these put us off. The Econo Lodge provides a more pleasant environment for walking a dog than the Motel 6. Read more

Pleasantly surprised! Very nice, especially for the price. The room was recently remodeled and I especially appreciated the new pillows. The hotel recently (May 2012) switched from a Sleep Inn to an Econolodge. My only downside was not being sure if it was the right place or not. (GPS's are great!)

The only problem we had was that there were small mold spots in the bathroom along the outer shower frame. The continental breakfast is very lacking but available. We stay every time we travel to see family here. Would be nice if room had refrigerator.

This hotel advertises itself as "Inn and Suites." I booked a "suite" because I wanted the separate room with a bed. Their "suite" is a regular hotel room with two beds. When I questioned it, I was told "that is OUR suite; it is bigger than the regular room and has a bigger bathroom." The "bigger bathroom" doesn't even have a tub, just a shower.
