Pool area beautiful, huge pool one side of the hotel, with a pool the other side of the hotel that woudl put most hotels in the areas main pool to shame even! didnt use it as it was winter, but many people were sunning themselves there even though. Bus to old town one street over towards beach, location could not be better. Its not a 5* hotel, but then its not 5* prices! for the money, very very nice, My parents are staying in this hotel for a month, and are booking for two months next winter! Had a fab stay at the Sol Pelicanos. Parking is a bit pricey at €18 per day, but the pool area more than makes up for any minus points. Food good and superb location, would definitely stay again.

My wife and I stayed for the night on one of our frequent trips to Benidorm. The staff are friendly, the food is good, and the location superb. Bedrooms are clean and basic with no WIFI and poor TV, and no Tea making facilities. We would stay again but take a kettle with us!

Food was good rooms comfortable and kept nice and clean even if you we're late vacating them. Unfortunately the room was a bit whiffy but got used to it. unless you get up and queue for up to an HOUR for a sunbed when the pool opens at 9.00am, you have no chance of a sunbed. It was the biggest queue I saw all week. Dozens of people laying out dozens of towels. The number one rule displayed at the entrance to the pool states "No saving sunbeds." Everyone ignores it, even the member of staff who finally […] removes the barrier to allow people to rush into the pool area and claim their "trophies." It really does need to be sorted out. Maybe all the beds should be numbered as per your hotel room. Apart from the sunbed saga, the food at breakfast and in the evening was very good. Plenty of choice - beef, gammon, chicken, kebabs, vegetables, potatoes, chips, mash etc and a wide variert of desserts. All served nice and hot and and tables cleared quickly. We had a small room with a double bed. And I mean a small room. However, the maid came everyday, made the bed, changed the towels and cleaned the room. Good service rewarded with a 10 euro tip. We would only stay at the Sol Pelicanos again if the sunbed allocation could be sorted out in a fair way, We never used the pool at the Pelicanos and went to the hotel next door. If you planning to go to the Pelicanos you will need to set your alarm early in the morning and over a week that's 7 hours of your holiday stood around. Good luck. Read more

More like a zero star hotel. No air con in reception,lifts,or hall ways. Only 2 small lifts so it takes ages to get the lift to your room. They don't change the sheets or clean the floors or bathroom when they are meant to do daily room cleaning. The beds are hard and springy. Food is horrible. They have shows every evening that go on till 12 midnight […] which are not great and which keep you awake if ur room is facing the pool, you'll hear everything so loud as balcony doors have gaps between them so don't shut out the noise. For a large hotel the food was very good,with a wide variety at every meal. The rooms were small but clean and tidy.In fact the only thing that we could fault was the supervision of the sun beds. There was small notices saying that no sunbeds were to be reserved ,but every morning people were queing up to put towles on the beds and then sometimes not […] comming back for hours. One morning at 9-30am there were 200 beds with towles on them .The staff seem to be more concerned about people bringing in drinks than to address the bed situation.So if you want a sunbed at the Los Pelicanos make sure that you are up early in the morning. Centrally Located hotel with an amazing swimming pool. Close to the beach as well. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was plentiful and of good quality. Stayed here with my husband, mum and friend for New Year, and all because my husband loves the programme, as its not the usual type of place we would stay, We were presently suprised by the hotel and the surrounding area. The hotel is large and clean, rooms are a good size as long as you have a twin room and don't request a double. We did this, and […] were given one of the 2 smallest rooms on the 3rd floor. My mum and her friend had a twin and their room was double the size. We went back to reception and it was no problem at all to change rooms, we ended up with room 307, which overlooks the pool area. 315 was the original room, which was over the bin and kitchen area. Not very nice. Otherwise everything else was great, from the service, to the New Years eve party. Talking about that, they wanted 161 euros for the New Year Gala night, but if you booked the meal and New year celebrations seperately it was half the price. The celebrations (without meal) which included 6 hour all inclusive drinks package, party pack, champagne, and 'lucky grapes' was 25 euros. A bargain and a great night with the entertainment provided being fun. There are 3 pools and jacuzzi's in the hotel, however these are shared with the sister hotel next door. (Which is currently shut) There is a flintsone kids club, which was still opertaing over New year. |Evening entertainment in the hotel is generally OK, but there is plenty going on in the surround area. If your going to Sol Pelicanos because of the problem, just to say that Neptunes Bar, is not in the hotel as your led to believe (we knew this before we went) but its 3 minute walk away and called Morgans. We stayed for just 3 nights in November '11. We stayed in a room on the 1st floor and could n't leave the room without bumping into a cast member from the T.V series Benidorm. Our room was next to Tim Healy's dressing room and we chatted to him on the balcony several times and met all of the cast who were fantastic, especially Tony Maudsley who plays […] Kenneth who was only too pleased to pose for a photograph with us, if you are a fan of the T.V series you must go when they are filming. As for the hotel, it is O.K , the rooms are basic but clean and the breakfast is O.K also, it does help if you are a fan of the full english fry up. Other meals in the hotel were not brilliant, but this is not the Savoy grille. The pool area is great and very large.The T.V series has made this hotel popular without it it would be mediocre. Lovely place, nice friendly staff and a very clean place. The only reason we would mark the room down is that out of the 4 channels for English speaking people, 2 had no sound and the other 2 had no signal ;-]. as a fan of the tv programme Benidorm, the reason i booked this hotel was the swim up bar,ive never been to a hotel with one,so i felt i was treating myself.in my naivety,imagine my surprise that i learnt that ANYONE can use ANY hotel pool! ok fair enough i thought but then try and get a decent sunbed! unless you re up at 7am, you aint gettin one,and […] most of these dont even stay there! i had to go to the beach most days which turned out good because i always went in front of the "tiki bar" on the seafront at levante beach.great music played all day, superb live bands that come on in the afternoons and the place is always packed and buzzing which spills out onto the beach in front,a great place to relax if you cant get a sunbed! lol. also, there was no correspondence whatsoever about any filming that may go on. unfortunately i stayed here whilst filming so the swim up bar that id dreamed of using was closed off anyway! ok, the thrill of seeing the actors at a distance was a novelty for about an hour, but i did feel sad over this.no correspondence,no discounts etc. we did "mention" this to a very beautiful manager! (cant remember her name!), although she was very professional in her dealing of the situation, i felt the hotel didnt really care about this. i understand the need to fill up the pool area for the bars etc and i expect the tv company to have paid them enough to "put up with a few complaints!" next time (nov 2011), i ll just stay at a cheaper hotel and use the pool! I booked this hotel as my boyfriend and I are great fans of the tv show "benidorm" and really wanted to see where the show was filmed. Best point of the hotel was the pool....it was massive, very clean and absolutely fantastic!! Definately got to be the best pool in benidorm. It also wasnt too busy during the day so you could always get a lounger at […] the poolside. One point though, the pool side bar is only open may - sept so we missed out on this novelty!! The food was fairly basic, but there was a very good selection for breakfast and we didnt struggle with finding anything to eat. We went late for breakfast both mornings and there still was everything on the menu. The buffett hall was large though and catered for about 300 people at once so it did seem like a canteen however, the cleaning staff ensured that the tables were cleared and reset immedately. Generally there were no complaints with the room and the cleanliness. We were asked on arrival wether we wanted a top floor room or a lower floor - we were on the 6th floor....it was very high and there are 14 floors!!! We had an issue on the first night with our neighbours being very very loud after midnight. We called reception who sent security...unfortunately we had to do this tywice before they listened, but reception and security were excellent. The rooms have very thin walls though and you can hear thorugh to the corridor and the next rooms. Overall a good experience Read more
