    Everything was great. VERY clean rooms. The only drawback was that I left my insulin in the mini-fridge and when I called the staff about it, after I... had checked out, they said it was not found. HOWEVER, that was MY fault for leaving it, not the staffs. So, overall, a very nice stay in Mt. Vernon. Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Nov 27, 2012

    A short guide to Mt. Vernon

    Midway between the cities of Springfield and Joplin, Mt. Vernon is often referred to as the gateway or starting line to Route 265, the scenic Ozark Mountain Parkway route to the Branson area. The town itself is home to the Adamson Cabin, which was constructed the same year the country was founded, in 1845. The cabin is one of the few authentic remaining pioneer homes located in the region.

    It is hard to find hotels that accept pets.The room was clean, the carpet had just been cleaned and the beds were new. The tabel in our room needed to be replaced, but the mirowave and refrigerator woked well.

    had only 2 towels in a room with a resv for 4. Front desk claimed to have no more towels and didn't give a flip. When pressured to call a manager or something they disappeared for a long time and finally returned with a couple of towels - one of which turned out to be used and not clean - still damp.

Hotel maintenance could be improved -- towels frayed, loose hinges on doors (doors out of plumb), and windows difficult to open. Minor drawback -- much highway noise being next to I-44.
