Super 8 Motel - San Diego/south Bay - San Diego 32.5839, -117.09522

Our stay in San Diego was great.Super 8 is a convenient location,there's stores all over and a decent beach, and just a minutes drive from downtown and other better beaches.The staff was helpful in letting us know what places were nice around!

Our phone didn't work, our room was filthy and the carpet looked disgusting. I would never stay here again.

Nasty place would recomend staying away. Should not even be on this site.Bugs , dirty, ants, cockroaches, bathtub filthy with soap scum you could peel with your nails, doors to inside left unlocked and the owners PUSHED their way infront of us to eat break.fast

Stayed at hotel with family. Carpet was filthy...would not walk on barefoot. Although convenient with microwave and fridge...overall room was dirty. Luckily, we checked in late and only needed it for one nigh sleep. Would not stay there again - regardless of price...nor will I recommend it to others. Go elsewhere...pay a little more!

The room was nice and large. The carpet was spotty with stains. Towels very scratchy, not soft at all (like sandpaper). The sink stopper did not go up or down. Lights above mirror in Bathroom didn't work as well as the hair blower. It has so much potential but it is dirty. By the way, the King size bed had a Queen size bottom sheet to it.

Not clean, room was stinky, bathroom door did not lock and extra bed was broken...

Nice location, great price, clean, quiet. I doubt you would meet any movie stars here, but it is still a nice place.

This place was really bad.Bad neighborhood.Constant smell of pot from the people living in the room next to ours.The room was in terrible condition. The bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. Holes in the curtains and mattress.Many other problems

The hotel it's located in the perfect spot , it's close to one of the beautyfull beaches southern California it's close to seaworld and San Diego zoo , it's really close to Tijuana and the most the covenience of the freeway it's so close you can go wherever you one it's the best hotels I ever been beside I always trust super 8 I recommend this hotel Cause I know you and your family be safe like I was great hotel.

Place was a decent value just to sleep & jet. Not a great place to hang out..great location to Imperial Beach. Kinda rough around the edges & run-down.

This was the only place to stay but the beach would have been just as good. Everything was dirty, roaches and smelled bad. I dont know how hotels.com can even put this hotel on their list.

I just stayed in the hotel for a night but found everything fine. The breakfast was good and the staff is friendly.

I was actually mildly surprised with my visit to this hotel. It was very clean-no frills, but I didn't need any. I just needed a nice clean place to stay & this was it. It was close to Imperial Beach and Coronado, but not so much to everything else. Every thing else was 20-30 minutes drive away, but not really any big deal. The staff was friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and the price was right!

The hotel room was fine and a bit of a sanctuary. It had a refrigerator and a microwave which was nice for leftovers. Those coming in and out were as different as night and day. Families with small children and then some sketchier looking men. It was close to the beach, which was nice. It's about 20-30 min from the heart of San Diego and a lot closer to National City. If you're heading to Tijuana and going it cheap, then I'd say go for it. Those who worked there were very nice. The pool is small and right on a major road...not exactly a relaxing location.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. Never asked for anything I didn't get. They were helpful in planning a trip across the border as well. We hopped on a bus to the trolley station, took the train to the border. When we got back, dropped off our stuff and took the bus to the beach, no problems, no bus changes at all. We have a car, but the public transport was pretty easy, so we left it at the motel (the staff can see the entire parking lot from their desk, and we had no incidents). Overall, the neighborhood is creepy, but the food, the people, the beach, and the public transport made it a nice few days with my family.

the room was clean and the people working the front desk were very accomodating to our needs. the room had a mini fridge and a microwave which came in handy for in case you were planning to save money on food

Carpets are real dirty, didn't walk around without socks or slippers! Staff was super friendly and accommodated our needs.

The room was great and the maids cleaned it up very well after our messes. I believe the only problem we had was the water going off, It happened tice at the worst of times. It was a good stay for the price we paid and I would like to consider going back again sometime soon.

Well the hotel was nice and all but there were two days where suddenly they call and tell us that the water was going to be shut off for a half hour or so? It so happened to be conveniently when we were using the restroom and shower. The towel rack had been worn out and kept falling off the wall itself. The beds were a little stiff but it was tolerable for us. Otherwise there were great places around the hotel, well, except that the entrance was one way and in the middle of construction.

The customer service was very poor and unfriendly. We also found insects(cockroaches) in the room. The add for the hotel should also say that the hotel is located next to a break repair shop and trailer park, and is located in a poor neighborhood.

I stayed in this hotel mainly for its location. Its about a mile from imperial beach and about 2 miles from silver strand state beach... I went with my friends to surf. Its also about 40 minutes from the animal parks which isnt such a big deal because gas out there is real cheap . We saw a total of 3 different bugs in our room and the first night we got there the customer service lady was not very welcoming. The complimentary breakfast made up for it since we traveled on a budget. I think we got exactly what we paid for. A cheap room as close to the. Water as possible. If I had a few more dollars I would have stayed somewhere on the beach.

Dingy looking, rough looking neighborhood, not a family place, pictures online deceiving. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone, ever.

Very convenient access to freeway, Imperial beach and stores. Staff are friendly, but the facility needs some improvement. My room did not have water. Pool is very dirty. Maintaince needs to do a better job. Everything else is great.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The room and bed were comfortable and clean. When you stay at a place like this, don't expect luxury amenities and you won't be disappointed. The area is an older commercial area, but not offensive. I'd go back there.

I guess it was as expected for the price we paid. The best thing about the hotel was the bed. It was comfortable. The pillows were extremely flat. There were roaches in the bathroom. And they only left us one roll of toilet paper, the one that was on the dispenser. So we had NO extra! The free breakfast was cereal, donuts and juice.

The area that the hotel is located is run down. When we asked a local business person in the area about the area he stated that it was not safe to walk around in the evening. The hotel is 4 miles from the border. According to the hotel receptionist she stated that there were drug war activities currently taking place in Mexico which needless to say left us with a uneasy feeling.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well maintained with adequate FREE parking available.

The employees working at the front desk were great. They were friendly and very helpful with tourist info. We also left some belongings behind, so we called back the next day, and the woman was amazing. She tracked it down, and made sure we got it all back.

This was the loudest hotel i have ever stayed at. The guy at the front desk was less than friendly!
