"Very convenient to convention center"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Friendly, competent staff, beautiful public spaces, great location if you're attending a conference at the Washington Convention Center. Room was a bit dated, had no safe or fridge, merely adequate bathroom.

Downtown DC is awash with culture. The Smithsonian Institution museum complex flanks the National Mall. The Washington Monument bisects the Mall, just south of the White House. Federal agency headquarters house bureaucrats of varying stripes. Moneyed and powerful lobbyists help create (and quash) laws from K Street. Chinatown and the Washington Convention Center lie east of downtown.

"Ritz Foggy Bottom"
I arrived feeling under the weather and the gentleman at the Registration desk noticed and offered to send up a pot of tea. It was a welcome effort. I was in town to visit family and spent a lot of time in the room because I was not feeling well. It was very comfortable. Close to GWU. I used my hotels.com credit for the night.
"Ritz-Carleton Washington"
We stayed on the Club floor. I've never stayed in a large hotel before where the staff made me feel so welcomed. Impeccable but completely unstuffy service.

"5 star!!! really."
When we reached the hotel, our room was ready and we we were efficiently checked in. However, no welcome drink or hot or cold towels were offered. The location of the hotel is very odd, its not eactly walking distance from any DC attraction, and you have to rely on Cabs. The room was nice and clean, but we faced issues with the bathroom flush. Toilet […] was very close to wall and uncomfortable to use. Last day our lock on room's main doon wouldnot work. The breakfast quality was good but selection was very little. Valet service and crew are good and courteous. Read more
"Willard Intercontinental Washington DC"
Great Historic Hotel close to everything!! The first room we stayed in was in need of a good carpet cleaning or a new one and the bed was a little saggy. The room had a wonderful view of the washington monument. The ac was not working well the first night so they moved us to a beautiful suite! Definetly much nicer room! Would stay in that room next […] time! The hotel staff was very helpful with everything! First class!! The breakfast buffet was amazing too!! I would come back and stay here again and bring the kids next time to see all the sites! Read more
"Outstanding Stay"
Our experience was wonderfully amazing. Each staff member of the hotel was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The next time we are in the DC area we will book our room at this hotel again. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about our experience.
"Great Hotel"
Great hotel, spacious rooms and exceptional staff. Very good for children. Complimentary cookies and jelly beans at night.
"unfortunate experience at Ritz in D.C."
While away from our 4th floor room there was a flood in some rooms on our floor. The response of the staff was exceptional but it was very disconcerting to return and find people in our room and items removed without our permission. A lovely hotel but an experience I would not want to repeat.
My husband and I were very pleased with the hotel. We travel quite often and tend to stay at Ritz Carlton hotels because of their excellence of service and comfort. The DC hotel was right on line of our expectations. I lived in DC for 13 years and am quite familiar with the area, as such, I loved the location of the hotel. It is walking distance from […] Georgetown, right on Dupont Circle and very close to downtown. We recommend the hotel for leisure or business purposes. Read more
The room was a nice and comfortable room. It did not meet my expectations for the Ritz-Carlton. For the money, I could have had a very very nice suite at another hotel. Perhaps this Ritz location is not as plush as others or either the basic room is just that...basic. The bathroom was the nicest part of the room.
"Wonderful Hotel"
We loved this particular Ritz location. The staff is polite & pleasant. The location is great. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Traveling to the Smithsonian is a breeze. In addition, West End Bistro (Eric Ripert's resto) is in the hotel, LA Sports Club is in the hotel, and the Spa is in the hotel, making our stays even more enjoyab […] le. Read more
"Ritz Stay"
Best hotel ever. Upgraded us b/c they were out of 1 BR Suites. Everything was perfect. A++++
"even with a big rally"
Even with the Glen Beck Rally and move in day at GW the Ritz treated as if we were the most important guests in the hotel that day!
"Relaxing getaway"
Great location, pretty rooms. Easy walk to Georgetown and monuments. Can't wait to go back!
"Ritz - perfect for a romantic weekend"
The hotel was wonderful! It was in walking distance to DC (musuems/gallerys/and historic sites and monuments) and within Georgetown had plenty of restaurants and shopping stores. The restaurant at the Ritz was great (try the house salad, very delicious). The hotel staff was very professional, courteous and helpful. The room was clean, spacious (view […] was ok), quiet and comfortable (the bathroom was awesome, great for bubblebaths). Only compliant is the parking garage (to get there you had to take separate elevators not very convenient). However, parking fee was cheaper than posted ($20/day posted but paid only $15, which was great). My gf loves and would definitely come back again. It made our DC extra special and memorable. It was her first time here and she still raves about it. Thanks Ritz for spoiling us, made a great impression on us, now we only want to stay Ritzs anywhere we travel. Read more
