Hotel currently going through renovation... hotel is great in common areas as already updated. Rooms in need of update (scheduled to be done this fall 2013) and will be really nice when done. Convenient location to the Grove. Breakfast and occassional manager's happy hours are excellent!

Loved the locale, the people that worked their were genuine and helpful. Our suite was probably much more appreciated by families with all the pull out couches and chairs and tables and a little kitchen. The two of us would have been more appreciative of a toilet that didn't back up every day and shower with some power.

Very nicely maintained. We were put in an old section of the hotel, with outside opening doors, but the room was nice and updated. Only complaint is that the hotel description implies that the 2nd bedroom has a queen bed and pullout sofa and we counted on that....not so. The pullout in in the living area and that was extremely inconvenient.

Although we only booked a queen room we received a two-bedroom suite. Parking is an additional $15 a day which was unexpected. Complimentary breakfast was wonderful. This hotel was within walking distance to Coco Walk area for shopping and restaurants.

I was staying in Coconut Grove for an event being held downtown and I stayed here for four nights. Besides the $15/night parking fee, I have no complaints. Everyone at the front desk was happy to help and the free breakfast was outstanding. The hotel was located in a safe enough area and I had no problems walking to the CocoWalk at night.

Stayed in 2 bedroom suite which provided ample space for family of four. Liked the full kitchen which allowed for keeping some food and drink items during the week. Had an issue with wireless Internet access but was promptly resolved - friendly and polite treatment throughout the process.

The suite had a second hand worn furniture motif. The bed dipped in the middle and linens were so-so. The living room had one worn cat clawed lounge chair and the overall mismatched dorm atmosphere was depressing. The kitchen cabinetry was the cheapest plastic laminate dating back to the 1980's. Great location. Somewhat central to many popular areas of interest in the Miami area. The menu in the continental breakfast was not boring and the staff managed to keep it well stocked during even the busiest time of the breafast period. The room was a nice size, contained all the necessities and not so standard things as well. The parking situation […] is not so great, but this appears to be a Miami wide situation. I parked across the street at metered spot that did not collect until after a certain time. This worked for me. The common spaces of the hotel itself was clean, in good condition and the staff, friendly and accomodating. Extremely disappointed with separate situation where I contacted the hotel after my stay, believing I'd left something there. To date, there has been no response despite a commitment by the hotel staff, of a phone call whether the item was located or not. This is not good business. Read more

This hotel is undergoing major renovations ( which we were not informed about by Expedia ). REnovations expected to continue for the next 6 months. Many service disruptions - slow elevator ( used by construction staff and cleaning crew ), slow internet service, cable TV intermittent ( picture froze, "no signal " ), tub water did not drain well, light […] over sink worked intermittently, etc.. Cleaning staff at this hotel is out of control. Could hear them yakking away ( in Spanish ) outside our room. Our room was not cleaned until after 2:30 - 3:00pm and staff left at 5:00pm. We had to forgo a room cleaning one day. Next day, requested the front desk multlple times to make sure our room was cleaned . Came back at 3:00pm to find that nothing had been done. Spoke to the duty manager who initially tried to defend by saying that staff will not enter the room if a Do Not Disturb sign is on the door ( we never used the Do Not Disturb sign ! ) . Cleaning staff supervisor came down and a big argument ensued ( in Spanish ) with the Front Desk staff, and the Duty Manager. Cleaning supervisor walked off in a huff. Lack of coordination & communication and unprofessional behavior ! Disappointed with the Marriott brand ! Read more

This is NOT a luxury hotel BUT the rooms are very spacious, sufficiently appealing and clean. The beds and pillows were quite comfortable. The complementary breakfast is very appealing with eggs, cereal, waffles, fruit, bread/bagels etc. Nice location. I rated it SUPERB because it is a superb value.

My first impression of this property was when the day manager refused to accept a cash gratuity for starting my check-in process while I parked the car. Very classy. All of the staff were helpful and responsive and this made a big difference to the experience of my stay. The room showed a little bit of wear (a blemish on the mirror, a missing ironing […] board, a kitchen light that seemed not to be working) but I don't linger on such things because it seems unfair to me: We basically defile these places when we stay in them, and then the next person comes along and crabs about a frayed comforter, and that seems like trying to have one's cake and eat it to. There was nothing wrong with the room that didn't seem reasonable for a property that is more than a few years old. There is one thing that this property needs, though, and they need it badly: The bathrooms don't have (or at least my bathroom didn't have) an exhaust fan. This would be a very expensive retrofit but it's essential: A few hours after I took a shower and made the mistake of leaving the bathroom door open, the entire room smelled of mildew because there was nowhere for the moisture to go. The rooms smell very nice and are very clean when one checks in, so there's no concern there -- but if you stay at this property you must take it upon yourself to be hyper-vigilent about keeping all forms of dampness behind the closed bathroom door. You have to pay $15 per night just to park your car on the property, absolutely insane! The key never opened the gate to this overpriced parking either. I had to contact the front desk each time. No verification of who I was, all you have to say is " the key does not work", and they just open the gate every time. The hotel seemed to be undergoing some […] minor renovation so there were some obstacles to get around. the elevators are in terrible working order, slow, old, noisy and hot! The staff was not very helpful when it was time to determine where our room was. We had to ask another patron who also stated that they had trouble finding their room. we were told that we were in building three however, The buildings are not marked. We were delighted! We were a travel group of 3 generations, which proved challenging because of personal privacy needs and physical ability. We found this property to be perfect for our needs because we had 2 private bedrooms, 2 pools and where very impressed with breakfast. The kitchen allowed everyone to graze, cook or have the option to 'take home' […] left overs from large restaurant meals. Very close to fun things to do like shop, movie, museum, planetarium, bar, a park to play and walk and fresh market...we three girls felt very safe in our 'gated community'...even the beach at key biscayne was close! My mom and I took a trip together and had an overnight flight. We landed around 6am and were exhausted, so we headed to the hotel despite the fact that our room check-in was not until 3pm. The hotel allowed us to check in early for no fee, and the staff was very accommodating and pleasant. The only surprise was the parking fee of $15 per night which was not very bad. Although I should mention that there is an other parking just a few hundred feet from the hotel that only charges $5 per night, and may be useful for some people based on the weather condition. Amazing breakfast buffet is very highly recommended.

My stay at residence Inn was great, the rooms and ambience was wonderful. The morning breakfast was fantastic and the manager, chef or waiter was friendly. But there is still room for improvement when it comes to the proper maintenance of their cooking untensils and housekeeping. Some of the untensils were old and battered. The staff at the front desk were a little miserable - we got our only smiles at breakfast! Parking is $15 a night or $1 per hour on the street. In the first room they offered us the floors ware damp after shampooing and in the second the carpets were grubby. They have two small pools which were adequate for the kids, and a small outdoor bar-b-que area. […] The kitchen was well stocked. There were 3TVs and a sofa bed- which our 3rd child slept on.
