"History for a great price"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 26, 2012
Replicas of Shakespear and Anne Hathaways house and a short bus ride from downtown. Charming. Great deal.

"Quality Inn- not really Inner Harbor"
I was very pleased with my stay. Through Hotels.com I got a great rate for a lovely room with a tiny two-seater balcony that overlooked the courtyard and fountain. There was both a small table and a desk, and three decent reading/working lights on the room- which is not my usual experience of hotel lighting. The bed was comfortable, and the covers […] more than adequate- because for some reason the room stayed overheated with the heat turned off. The balcony doors opened fine, though, so it was easy to control. I saw other rooms had their windows open, too, so I guess it wasn't just my room. The pool and steam room were open- but no robes in the room and no obvious place to change by the pool meant I didn't use them. Bathroom was small but clean and worked well. I would caution- if you're expecting an "inner harbor" with water view, you'll be disappointed. I know the city and understood clearly that the hotel is blocks away from what I would call inner harbor, while still an easy walk to the ferries. Read more

"Quality Inn Victoria close to the harbour"
So much noise! Our room was above a Pub- not a good thing on Fri and Sat night. Guests on our floor were not reminded by management to refrain from running up and down the halls after 11:00 - my Honey did it for them! Outside these two things I was satisfied - next time I will ask for a room away from the Pub.

"Inner harbor"
The way they list the hotel as Downtown Inner Harbor leads one to believe it is actually on the inner harbor. it's not-it's 3 blocks away and no views of the harbor exist that I could see. Also, the parking is incredibly small and difficult to get in & out of.. They charge for parking per day as opposed to many who do not.

"Great hotel in a great city!"
Great location for walking to everything in Victoria BC
"Victoria, BC Canada - Middle of Town"
Older hotel, remodeled with underground, secure parking ($7 a day). VERY good location near everything - almost didn't need a car. Nice !!
The proper answer to "Quality of hotel service" is NOT APPLICABLE; as no service was required or requested or used.
"Quality Inn Downtown-downtown Victoria BC"
Although our stay was short - it was clean and comfortable. Loved the fact that it was right in the downtown core of Victoria! No room service though.... i.e. for breakfast.

"excellent economical option"
This was the 2nd time I've stayed at this Quality Inn. I arrived on the Clipper ferry at 11am - my specific room was not ready, but they found another one and I was able to check in hours early. Room was small but clean, bed was very comfortable. Room was hot but fine with windows open. I also had hours to wait between check out and my return ferry […] and they kept my bags behind the desk for me. The only drawbacks - no breakfast offered through the hotel and the adjoining restaurant was closed with no explanation when I tried to go. Also, the hair dryer did not work - although I did not ask at the front desk about it and it may have been a simple fix. There's a bar next door which translates to some late night noise if you're on the street side, but in general it's not a rowdy area. I would definitely stay here again Read more
the elevator was broken, but otherwise, the room was clean and comfortable and the hotel was in a great location, close to all the sights and downtown. daughter enjoyed the small pool (but the steam room was also broken.) Staff provided us extra cutlery for our take out chinese food, and were otherwise very helpful.
"Quality Inn Victoria -- No AC and Hard Beds"
The one positive of this hotel is that it has free wifi. However, this hotel lists air conditioning among its standard features. Don't be fooled. The halls are air conditioned. The rooms have two small vents located over the door and next to the bathroom. In last weekend's 90 degree weather, the room was nearly unbearable to spend time in (including […] to use the free wifi). The beds were very hard and borderline unsleepable. Quality sleep not included in this stay. I would recommend chosing another hotel to stay in when you visit, unless you like paying too much for no AC and hard beds. Read more
"Quality Inn Victoria - close to inner harbour"
This is a fine place to stay if you are simply looking for a clean place to sleep and shower. Conveniently located in downtown Victoria, the hotel is walking distance to the inner harbour area, including the Parliament building, the Empress hotel, Chinatown, shops & restaurants. Driving from the hotel to Butchart Gardens is also very easy from the Quality […] Inn. One negative ... we went during one of the hottest days of the summer and there is no A/C in the room, just a table fan. But you can open the windows and that'll help until you're ready to sleep. You'll want to close them to keep out the street noise. Read more

"Great place"
Room was great and very comfy. Price was right and it was close to the theater. Have recomended it to my Paster and his family. My daughters are rebooking for May.
"Good for the off-season rate"
Excellent beds, large room with kitchen, bathroom could be upgraded.
"Central Victoria BC Hotel"
Older hotel but comfortable. Kitchenette was great. Location is central as it is downtown and near inner harbor and other conveniences. Housekeeping staff were very attentive. Price is right.

"A solid B+"
The room was clean, but a little small. It was a very cold night and the baseboard heating had a long lag before the room heated up, but it got there eventually. I was a little disappointed that the pool was out of service for maintenance but I suppose that it was bad timing. Note: the fitness room is pretty bare bones, it consists of a treadmill, […] fitness bike and tv only. Overall, a clean place with good service in a great location. Everything within walking distance and the price was fantastic. Read more

"Great..."
Great place to stay when in Victoria, BC. Close to everything and very clean and proper.....
"Quality Inn is a good deal"
My family was very happy with our stay at the Quality Inn in Victoria; however, we booked through the 1-800 number and were promised a suite with a kitchenette. When we arrived, no such suites were available. We were very disappointed with this.
"quality inn-great location"
I thought the room was very clean and spacious. The hotel was in a great location, can walk to downtown. However I found the bed the most uncomfortable I've ever slept in,and I'm well traveled. I also like the secured underground parking and the prices were affordable.
"Quality Inn, good location, older hotel but clean"
Great location for the value.
"Great Choice"
Great room, friendly and helpful staff. Great deli/restaurant over the road. Would stay here again.
"Quality Inn - great location!"
This hotel was in perfectly adequate for a night's stopover in Victoria. Shower pressure was good, beds were comfy and the room was clean. It's in a fabulous location: a couple of blocks to the Market Square/Wharf, sights like The Empress and parliament buildings and loads of shops and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful too.

"Nice stay"
The location is really close to the city center. It only took us less than 10 minutes to the Empress Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. I did not notice any noise probably because our rooms were facing away from the street. The parking lot is small. But we parked across the street under the library for $2.00 per night and free on Sundays and […] holidays. Over all, it's a nice stay. Read more

"Quality Inn Downtown Victoria - Great Stay"
The hotel's location is terrific; everything in downtown Victoria is within a reasonable walking distance. Our room on the 3rd floor facing into the courtyard was perfect; nice and quiet and no rooms above us. I read other reviews for this hotel before I booked and most of the problems seem to relate to rooms overlooking the street and the pub adjacent […] to the hotel. Stay away from those rooms if you are concerned about noise. Our room had a small kitchen which was perfect for making breakfasts and saving a little bit of money from eating out all the time. The parking lot is small and was full on the first night full so I had to park across the street under the library for $2; no big deal. I then got the car into the hotel parking for the next 2 nights. We had a good stay. Read more
"NOISY"
The room we stayed in on the 2nd floor faced Courtenay Street - we were there on a Sunday night and could not believe the street/people noise . There is a small bar next door to the hotel - looks very quaint - noise from the comings and goings was crazy. The Hotel underground parking gate was broken while we were there which with all the goings on from […] the bar left us concerned for our vehicle and a lousy nights sleep. In fairness this may have been the exception rather than the rule at this Hotel but we would return only with a guarantee of a room not bordering either Courtenay or Blanshard Read more
"Quality Inn -Downtown Victoria"
Very convenient location being in central Victoria. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. I just wished the fitness room was working at the time. Out of 3 exercise equipment, only 1 was working and staff said it's been busted for more than 2 weeks. But then again one might say who wants to work-out while on vacation. Well, lots of health-conscious folks do, […] that;s why the fitness room is there in the first place. Read more
"Quality Inn Downtown Inner Harbour"
While the hotel is actually a short walk to the inner harbour, none the less it is very conveniently located for many of Victoria's highlights, including the Royal BC Museum, Parliament Buildings and shopping on Government Street. There is a wide variety of restaurants within a couple of blocks of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. […] I left my phone charger behind and they were quick to retrieve it and send it on to me. The restaurant staff we met were friendly and efficient. There is an indoor swimming pool that is quite small but my children enjoyed using it and in March, it is still too cold to swim outdoors. It would have been nice to have more chairs and tables in the pool area for the parents who were watching their children but that is a small concern and did not dampen our experience. We stayed in a standard room and it was suitable for our needs. The beds were comfortable, the noise level from the street was minimal. The price was what drew our attention to this hotel, usually we stay right on the harbour, but for the sake of a three minute walk, we would certainly stay here again. This is definately a 3Star hotel, but a solid 3Star. You know what to expect and there are no surprizes. Read more

"Perfect!"
Pleasantly surprised. We arrived late and the staff were accommodating and willing to please. Hotel was easy to find. Room and bathroom were very clean, with comfortable bedding. We did not need to get into our car to go places - everything, from attractions to restaurants, was within walking distance......and our car was secure in the underground parking. […] Excellent value for the location and hospitality. Read more
"Great Stay."
I was very pleased with this hotel stay. Smiths Pub had great food, the hotel gave us a 10% off coupon. 2 block walk to Inner Harbor and dozens of restaurants and shopping near by.
"Worst service"
This is our second stay at this hotel. The first time we ran into a desk clerk who was rude but we put that off to a bad experience with one person. This second time 2 different desk clerks were rude and inattentive. While waiting to check out after standing at the desk for 5 minutes the clerk finally looked at me and said 'What's up?" I don't know […] maybe it's me but 'what's up' is not the way I like to be greeted. Couple this with the fact that the room walls are paper thin and while the locatiojn is great the hotel gets only a 2 from me. Read more
