"Lovely redo of old Houston favorite"
Very accommodating staff. We had to wait a while for our room and very nice lady at the desk suggested that we might like to go across the street to see the Fine Arts Museum. The one hour diversion was great, and when we returned to the hotel we were upgraded to a suite for our inconvenience. Nice redo of an old Houston landmark.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel"
Great Stay - In fact I'm going back for a full week 3/4 thru 3/8Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Must Stay"
My stay was great! But the room I booked was not the room i got so i was not happy with that. It said the suite was availiable but when I got there they said that they don't know why they told me that room was availiable and was not.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel"
It is a very nice hotel. Very nice area where the hotel is located.Genuine Expedia guest review
I have stayed at Hotel Za Za several times for business trips. The service is excellent and the eclectic decor is always interesting! The restaurant serves delicious food and when the weather is nice it's great to eat in the outdoor section with a great view of the fountains. Rooms and bathrooms are very nice. My only comment would be that the carpet […] in the hallways could use an upgrade. although it appears very clean. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great customer service!!!"
Love, love, love this hotel!!! I was there on a business trip, but I will be booking this hotel for leisure trips and I will be telling all my friends!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Service was mixed"
Service was very mixed as we had to make the same request, needed a crib, 4x until they brought one up. I had originally requested a crib when booking the hotel. To set expectations, it was NBA All-Star weekend with several players/performers staying at the hotel but the hallways smelled like smoke.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Perfect Museum District location and the shuttle service into prime Rice and Montrose areas is a tremendous help.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Hotel ZaZa Zo! Thank you for your feedback. I am pleased to read that you find the complimentary Magic Carpet Ride Shuttle service a great transporation option at Hotel ZaZa! The Museum District is definitely a lovely area. Z-scape back to ZaZa soon. We love ya!
Beautiful room, loved the balcony. It was VERY noisy. The people in the room next door to mine partied until 5:00 a.m. despite hotel staff going to their room and asking them to be quiet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Big disappointment"
Zaza is said to be a "luxury" hotel. It is certainly not. the service and amenities are very poor. The restaurant was understaffed. It took about 30 min. to get my meal and the English muffin came after I finished. The walls are covered with fashion photography, some of which is inappropriate for young audiences. I asked for a toothbrush and never received […] it. We were missing a robe. Housekeeping brought one when we called. Our room was not cleaned on Sat. until we called to ask for it to be cleaned. When housekeeping came she asked if I wanted the sheets changed. I would rather they not ask and just do all they can to make up for not having cleaned our room. Seemed obvious that she should go ahead and clean better than usual given the circumstances. the water, tea, an cookies in the lobby at night were gross. The tea had no sweetener, lemon, etc. The soggy cookies were Oreos, nutter butters, and some other store bought cookie. i was astonished because other hotels in Houston offer fresh warm cookies and chocolate milk at night. Other hotels at the same or less price point in other parts of the country offer peanut butter and jelly, hot chocolate (with optional whip cream, marshmallows, peppermint, etc.) in the evening. This just seemed like a cheap, tacky attempt at hospitality. I will never go back there, and considering other options in the city, this would be a waste of anyone's money. "Wonderful place to stay, tastefully decorated"
I stayed overnight after photographing a wedding on a Saturday night. I was on the 2nd floor and did notice the thumping music spilling up from the party in one of the ballrooms below. It was very quiet, but I would request a higher floor in the future. I also missed a hook or towel bar near the shower in my petite queen room. Other than those small […] inconveniences, everything else was wonderful! Beautiful photographs gracing every wall, dramatic lighting and surprising decor around every turn. It was a dream (although dark) space in which to photograph my subjects. The staff working and coordinating the wedding event were so nice and polite and seemed genuinely happy to be there! They were a treat to work with as they were always smiling. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"convenient to tourist, business and restaurants"
my husband was attending a convention and there was easy access to downtown. the hotel is right in the middle of the arts district with easy access to all museums. staff super friendly and eager to please. room very comfortable. enjoyed the more intimate hotel over the bigger chain hotels. for me, best part is that my two kitties were very welcome.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Balcony suite"
High end balcony suite had no balcony. No desk anywhere in suite. Mood lighting was nice but dim for business work. My iPhone 4 consistently crashed while I was there, which is odd b/c it's worked perfectly the last 3-4 years. Not sure what it was about that location. Resumed working well after I departed. Otherwise clean and trendy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Hotel ZaZa Hi S, Thank you for the review. I am pleased that you found Hotel ZaZa clean and trendy! In regards to your room, I apologize that you found the lighting too dim. All suites are equipped with either a desk or table for guests to use. We love ya at ZaZa!
"Right next to Houston MFA"
Hotel Zaza is a fine property though a little bit of a mulitple personality. The lobby, hallways, and common areas have a kind of bohemian/hipster vibe to them while the rooms are pretty standard comfort corporate. I'm not complaining -- everything was fine -- but it was occasionally slightly odd. My first room was right next to a noisy mechanical room. […] I complained politely and was moved very graciously to an upgrade with a balcony. They couldn't have been nicer. The first room would have been fine had it not been for the noisy motor next door. Having been to Houston many times, it's wonderful to stay somewhere not downtown or in a corporate park. The hotel is directly next door to the Houston Museum of Fine Arts which, for me, is a plus as well. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Should be better"
This is such a nice building in a good spot. Check in was very friendly though hard to figure out what to do with the car since no one was around outside. Then we get to the room and the phones are out, later we discover they should start working in a week or so. 8am a knock on the door, do we want more towels? First I asked for her to come back later […] but when she asked again I accepted the towels. Little did I know that was code for not coming back to make the beds. Found that out at 5:30 when we returned from the day. One of 2 elevators being repaired. Beautiful lobby and bar, but we hit cold weather and the rooms were drafty. You could say its New Orleans and that's the way it goes but I was disappointed. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great place to relax"
The hotel atmosphere is lots of fun, from the giant zebra chairs in the lobby to the driftwood lighting on the patio to the rock star portrait gallery. There is plenty to look at in the hotel and lots to do in the immediate vicinity of the hotel as well. Finally, the food was fantastic too. Altogether an unexpectedly wonderful experience.Genuine Expedia guest review

"I love Hotel ZaZa"

"Special Engagement"
I recently booked a one night stay to propose to my girlfriend. There was a couple of problems but everything worked out and Hotel ZaZa staff went above and beyond to cater to us and make up for it. I have to admit it was a little hectic out front of the hotel and in the lobby at check-in and when we got off at our floor there was a couple of utility […] carts with paint and stuff which was a turn-off. Matt at Concierge helped with the room setup including everything I requested (rose petals, champagne, sliced strawberries, etc.) When we got to our room he was still setting up and luckily was keeping in touch with the front desk. He meet us at the front door to our room and apologized that the room was not ready but he gave us a voucher for $30 in drinks at Monarch, the hotel's bar/ restaurant. My girlfriend had no idea what he was working on ;-) I had setup a sunday brunch for us before even checking in. Matt contacted me when our room was ready and gave us a $50 voucher for that brunch which was great. We were able to have our whole meal, two OJ's, and a bloody mary for under that. Matt was great and even the shuttle drivers had great things to say about him and how he makes trips to the florists to fulfill customers request. All things considered by the end of our trip we will go back for our anniversary next year! Great Job ZaZa staff!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A little too much!"
If you like a busy hopping hotel this one is for you. The lobby wad always full with people going in and out. Too busy for me. The pool area was crowded as well.Genuine Expedia guest review

"I say: no go to ZaZa!"
This hotel is over-priced. It has charming decor and cool nooks out by the pool, but the outside pool area has the feel of a frat party/ cougar party every night. The hotel must rent it out and so, there is no relaxing by the pool. Each room has a mini-refrigerator, but it is stocked full with items the hotel wants you to purchase from them at OUTRAGEOUS […] prices. The bathrooms are also stocked with items that are labeled with price tags. The hotel doesn't have a comfortable "homey" feel to it at all. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
