This district, previously a major rice market, showcases the changes Osaka underwent when Japan was opened to the West. Aside from nearby Osaka Castle, the historic walking course along Mido-suji Avenue is popular with visitors for its featured turn-of-the-century architecture. Nakanoshima Park, situated between the Dojima and Tosabori Rivers, includes a garden with 4,000 varieties of roses and the Museum of Oriental Ceramics well-known for its collection of Chinese and Korean pieces.

This is definately a business oriented hotel, but that said it is a great facility. Across the river from the Osaka Castle grounds with subway and above ground rail stations just a short walk away to anywhere else in the city. Conceirge and many other employee's spoke good English. Service all around is just excellant as you would expect from an upper class Japanese hotel. Family types may want to stay closer to the more normal attractions like the Universal Studios & Osaka Harbor attractions. Besides the Osaka Castle, Nara a World Heritage Site is only 40 minutes from the hotel via express train. Osaka Tower and shopping area is only 20 minutes away by rail. For my purposes a fantastic hotel.

Having selected the Hotel for a six night stay I was delighted with it's location and standard of service. Great for the Osaka JR Loop Line for transfer to Shin Osaka for Bullet train etc. Fantastic view of the castle and Park and having seen the rest of Osaka I am glad that I chose this hotel. The big downside for me was the extortionate cost of using the leisure facilities! Anyone wnating to make use of these facilities had better be prepared for a large bill at the end of the stay.
