Embarcadero Resort Hotel & Marina - Newport

this hotel was better than what we were hoping for. Location is incredible and having a private fishing/crabbing dock is great. Will definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay. We have never stayed on the bay front. So we enjoyed walking through all the shops. Your food was great we ate at the restaurant a few times.

The unit was good sized but apparently each unit is independently owned. Our bed linens didn't look clean, the blinds were broken and there was a lot of dust. Bed was uncomfortable and no one knew how to work the wood stove. The unit did have a small kitchen which was convenient. Wouldn't stay again.

We always have a great time there and the rooms are so clean and comfortable. The crab cookers on the dock are one of the reason we don't mind spending the extra cash to stay with you. Keep up the hard work and we will be back soon. highly recommended

Listen everyone, DO NOT let ANY negative knuckleheads sour you to this marvelous spot. It is beyond amazing! There are just 2 things to remember: 1/2 of it is 'hotel owned' apartment condos, and the other 1/2 are 'regular people owned" time shares. So, I would advise only that you stay on the Hotel side, which is FABULOUS! We had a huge, 1 bedroom 'apartment,' […] totally stocked, immaculately cared for, with a large, lovely living room and balcony which faced the bay, bridge and all the many fishing and recreational boats in the harbor, and had a huge bathroom as well, which was totally lovely! We also had a closet with a washer and dryer!!! Also, leave your hair dryer, iron etc at home, as it's all included including a floor vacuum! Having been a local in Newport for 35 years, it has been great to go back over the past 9 years. Embarcadero is always a favorite choice. The weather was great, crabbing was good, and seeing family and old aquaintances priceless. We had a great stay and would gladly visit again. The bed was comfy , the view was great, we liked having a washer and dryer, and full kitchen. Newport is our favorite place along the beach and this will be a place we visit again, and recommend

Room access was like going down to the basement. Not appealing at all. Room layout was inconveinent and claustraphobic. Atmosphere was cold and unfriendly. And there was some machinery that ran outside the bedroom window all night. Bay view was OK but other buildings blocked part of the view. The positives: the view is lovely and the hotel is very convenient to the Newport Bayfront. The negatives - the property is very run down, the room seriously needed a deep cleaning (as in, there was trash under the bed and the carpet was dirty). When I stay in a room that costs that much I expect better linens than what I would find in hotel 6 - cheap […] scratchy towels, yukk. Lots of much nicer places in Newport for the same or even less. We had a nice stay. The staff were friendly and eager to help. The view from the room was great. I would be willing to bet that all of the rooms have good views. The room we had was clean, with new tile floors in the hall, kitchen and bathroom and new carpet elsewhere. However, the remodel should have included a new bath/shower stall with all new fixtures, […] cabinet and counter tops. The kitchen could have used new counter tops, cabinets and appliances. If you are going to remodel go all out. Other rooms have been completely remodeled and are of a much higher standard. Also, on the Hotels.com website it states that the room has a Sleep Number by Select Comfort mattress. It did not. I asked the Front Desk Staff about this and was told that none of the rooms have a Sleep Number mattress. All in all we had a really nice time and the view was great. Located on the colorful waterfront of Newport, OR is a delightful Condo/Hotel/Resort the Embarcadero! We had the upstairs unit that was so picturesque. There were quaint wall murals, a stained glass lighthouse at the top of the bed and a view that I couldn't stop gazing at. Each unit is uniquely decorated by the owners and # 642 was very nice. We had […] a queen bed, (sometimes we have a king bed) comfy couch, fridge/micro unit, with a great secluded balcony overlooking the busy waterfront with the expansive Yaquina Bay Bridge in full view. The location of this resort is perfect for us. We can explore one of favorite Newport areas, the waterfront. We bought fresh tuna from one of the boats, laughed at the seals in the bay, ate fabulous clam chowder at Mo's and bought salt water taffy to bring home to the kids. Nye Beach is very close and we love the dinner experience at Sylvia Beach Hotel. This is a must for any visitor to Newport! It is very quiet at the Embarcadero. You never know there is anyone else around. The dinners in the dining room are wonderful by the way. Every Wednesday there is a sailing club that has races and maneuvers in the bay. We sat on our balcony and watched. It was great! We have stayed here many times, all booked by hotels.com and we will continue to stay here. Why change? Read more

The important thing to know about the Embarcadero is that you'll stay in a condo owned by someone else. So YMMV. That said, the rooms seemed to have pretty much the same furnishings and amenities overall. We had two rooms, and they were both reasonably nice and both were clean and ready for our stay. The resort feels overall like a large apartment […] complex more than a hotel. The price made it a good value overall. Some minor points: + We used the pool, which was a nice feature. + The fireplace would have been nice on a cold night. - Doors open directly to the outside, like a motel. - The sofa bed was just OK. - No blackout curtains in the living area, so sleeping late on the sofa bed is hard to do. - The water view was primarily of the marina (boats). It was fine, but not a major feature. - Our 3rd floor room had indoor stairs, so when somebody came to the door, we had to walk down and back up with them. - The hotel restaurant was not open for breakfast most days, which made the location a bit less convenient overall. I was excited to stay in the hotel that I stayed in as a child. The room we got was very nicely decorated with a great fireplace $25 cleaning. The bed was amazingly uncomfortable and hard. We were having a little romantic getaway and this resort was just perfect. The living room and kitchen overlook the bay and the Yaquina Bay Bridge making it just wonderful for a person who loves the coast. Room was dirty, towels were threadbare and see through, no toiletries in room whatsoever. Bed was very uncomfortable. I expected resort quality for the price and got a poor excuse for a room. Would not recommend.

Unit layout was great for privacy. Nice views from good size deck. Good place for family or multiple couples. Older building.

Had a hard time finding the room. View was great. Room was musty smelling, opened a door to get some fresh air in. TV was great. Bed was nice and comfortable. We had trouble with the toilet. Had to flush it a few times to do the job. Enjoyed the aquarium. Food at Mo's was good. Had a drink at the Rogue, that was nice. Walking the boardwalk was fun. […] Looking at the seals was fun. The room was dirty and the carpet was disgusting. The beds were in poor condition and poor quality. The worst thing of all was the pool. The water was sooo cold that the kids could not even swim. They also have little to no chaning rooms and they were very dirty also. I would not pay anything to stay there again.

You are paying for the Harbor view, clearly not the hotel itself. My room was dirty and smelled, I was too tired to complain and just sucked it up.

First of all the weather was beautiful, and that in itself can make or break a trip on the Oregon coast. We had a Bay Front one bedroom, so the view was great, especially for the lighted boat parade as they turn right by the Embarcadero. Cons - The bed was not very comfortable, and it was small as we are used to a King at home. The furniture was outdated […] as well (though comfortable), the bathroom tub was in need of a refinish, and the room looked like it had not been vacuumed (still had popcorn on the floor, and we didn't eat any popcorn). Pros - The view is unbeatable, the area is very quiet, the staff are very friendly, the pool and hot tubs were so relaxing and nice, and if you get a kitchenette it really helps to save money and calories. Other info - When the weather is nice like it was that weekend, you can walk about .5 mile to the bayfront shops. My wife likes to just go in all of the shops and we always to eat at Sharks on the West end of the bayfront. Read more

There are a multiple of different types of rooms at this hotel. Every time I go I get a different type of room. You should call ahead and ask for a room with a kitchenette.

The room had a funny musty smell. The bed was beyond uncomfortable. The pillows were lumpy. There was no duvet cover on the down comforter - GROSS! There was ample closet space for clothes, however no dresser and only 10 or so hangers. The front desk staff have no idea what their doing. My card was charged for my stay even though I paid through Hotels.com. […] Getting the pending charge off my account took 4-5 calls to the hotel and a call to my bank. THE PICTURES ON THE AD SHOWED A WATERFRONT SETTING, WE BOOKED, EXPECTING TO BE ON THE OCEAN-FRONT....INSTEAD WE WERE ON A BAY, ALMOST NO VEIW OF THE OCEAN,,,STAFF, ROOM AND RESTUARANT WERE ALL FANTASTIC.....ITS SET UP MORE FOR BOATERS LOOKING FOR A GOOD HABOR SETTING AND A NICE STAY....

We stayed in a Bay Front one bedroom suite which was great. Our son stayed in a bay view room which was smaller and did not have all the amenities. While staff had been very helpful over the phone, both my son and ourselves found the front desk staff less than friendly when we checked in at different times. The room was a litle dated but was clean […] and had a great view of Newport Marina and the bridge at the entrance to Yakina Bay. The facility has a dock and marina for guests. It is close to the waterfront area and we were able to walk to the shops, restaurants, and other atractions in Newport. The beach is a short drive away. Read more

We had a great stay, the hotel itself does need some maintenance. They put us in a very, not to be mean but ugly room. After complaining and telling them that we were not satified they tried their hardest to meet our expectations. Some of the staff at the front desk were extremely nice. Room is a little dated, but they are upgradeing to make them all better. Had to ask for sheets for the hide a bed because they were not in the closet. Hard to beat the view of the bridge next to a wood stove with the rain falling. We really do love this place and will be back.

No real complaints but left thinking we paid a little too much for what we got. Service was good. Our room did not have a tv remote but they brought a new one over right away (10 mins). Location is great if you are not looking for a beach front hotel. This hotel is by a marina. There are lots of shops in walking distance. Overall, it was good.

Great room for the money, in fact i was pleseantly supprised to find the fully equiped room, down to the log for the fireplace. I wanted to stay longer. Now making plans to return.

The pool was not functioning, the wireless signal strength was really weak, pretty much non-existent, and no hard-wire was available. The view was lovely from the room, lots of great dining nearby on the bay, and the staff was friendly, genuinely so.

Very comfortable large king size bed. Microwave, coffee maker, dishes, and frig. Pool was ok, but not a lap pool. Only stayed one night--very quiet and peaceful.

We arrived at 2 pm and check in was at 4, so we didn't think we would be able to check in that early but decided to try. This great girl named Kristy(sp?) moved us to another room just so that we could check in early. Then, the room was great! It was basically like a small apartment. We had a fully stocked kitchen, a nice little living room with a […] decking overlooking Yaquina Bay, and great bedroom. The staff was always friendly and helpful and the accomodations were nice. The only drawbacks were that the rooms could be updated as the furniture and carpets are a little worn and dated, and parking leaves a little to be desired. Read more

Great location and fantastic views. Nice sized rooms and a good price BUT....The walls were paper thin and at 7:30 am it sounded like there was a party in my room with cartoons blaring next door. Also, the carpeting was filthy.

The service in the resturant wasn't great, but shtill ok. The food was good as well as the prices.

good location and outstanding harbour view but hotel is tired. unit spacious but hadn't been cleaned well. blinds, tv and stove in disrepair. Beds comfortable and bedding fine.
