"Home in the city"
We were only here for one night but it would have been comfortable for a much longer stay. Two good size bedrooms, two baths, fully equit kitchen and even laundry. Very hard to find- on a small street. We wound up having to take a taxi to find it and then another family member followed with our car- so get detailed directions.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good if you need another room for kids"
This place is good value if you need an apartment with two rooms.Genuine Expedia guest review
I have stayed at a few hotels in Santiago which are in apartment buildings. This one is spacious for Santiago standards, well appointed, and very conveniently located in a very safe and popular area. The staff in the office were extremely friendly and helpful. A gentleman even helped us carry baggage to the room and offered to set up a pack and play […] crib. If you don't speak Spanish, Matias in the office speaks excellent English. We didn't go to breakfast, but the hotel apparently has an arrangement with a nearby cafe because we were given coupons. All of this much nicer than the other apartments I have tried in Santiago. They have free wifi and free parking. The Santa Magdalena was such a pleasant surprise! We will certainly stay there again. I would stay here again. The location is perfect and had everything I needed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Overall we really like the Santa Magdelena. The only significant downsides are that the roof top pool is poorly maintained, and small, and the WiFi access was spotty. We lost email access for a couple of days. However, the staff was friendly and supportive, and the location in Santiago was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place, great location"
This is a great place to stay at in Santiago at a reasonable price. The location is great, easy to find and close to shopping, restaurants, coffe shops and the new Costanera Center shopping mall. The accomodations were comfortable and nice. The staff was nice, professional and helpful providing recommendations for shopping and dining and with special […] requests. "Rented apartment with maid service not really a ho"
The maid service was unreliable and the internet was poor otherwise it was fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Couldn't fault the apartment. Great service and help with things to do and a clean and safe neighbourhood with a great choice of eateries.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good value for families"
Stayed 8 days with no regrets - close to Metro in nice neighbourhood with lot of restaurants close by. The neighbourhood is not a character neighbourhood but it is safe and clean and covenient. Free parking for the days when we had a car - easy access to the highway. "Just Rent A Car" is in the next building and were able to rent us a car on short notice […] for reasonable prices. Kitchen family well equipped. Huge grocery store in a mall which was within walking distance. Big apartment with two bedrooms and two baths. While technically an apartment there was daily cleaning and fresh towels except on Sundays and holidays. Pool on roof is small and but was clean and we used it daily - bring sunscreen as there is no shade up there! Doorman did not speak English but they did in the office net door. I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A Wonderful Experience"
03/20/15 abamundo New York City, NY
My husband and I just returned to NYC after a 2 month stay in Santiago at the Santa Magdalena Apartments. Our experience exceeded our highest expectations. The location of this apart hotel is ideal. Within a few blocks there is excellent shopping, a range of transportation alternatives and a wide array of restaurants. Our small one bedroom had everything we needed to ensure an enjoyable stay. In addition, the apartment was well-maintained, in fact it was spotless. Of equal importance is the fact that, on the rare occasion when a problem arose, the proprietors and thier staff immideately addressed it and rectified the situation. We look forward to returning.
"An old favourite but starting to look a bit old & tired, great location though!"

I have been staying at the Santa Madalena for many years and it has always been my first choice when working in Santiago. However, during my visit earlier this year I found that the apartments were starting to feel a bit dated and in need of a makeover. Having said that, it is in a perfect location, in a safe, business district, very close to restaurants and shops, incl. a large, new shopping mall. The staff are always very friendly and English is spoken in the office downstairs. It is also spotlessly clean. For those reasons alone I would go back on my next visit!
"Bit shoddy appartment"

I stayed her for 5 days. This is really a very average place. I first got an inferior room without balcony and a very noisy leaking airco. Service quite good as I got another, better room upon simple request. However, toilet got clogged twice in that room. Was repaired every time within the day. Bathroom really very small and wearing out. There is a pool on the roof but it is very small and no chairs nor shade so I doubt anyone really uses it. Bed not too great. Would not recommend this place but for the price which was OK. But still I felt too much for what I got.
"Great Location - good place for a family"
01/06/14 Floridatraveler2014 Orlando, Florida
My family enjoyed our stay at the Santa Magdalena Apartments. This was a great location for a Santiago visit. We walked to wonderful local restaurants each night. The subway was close for sightseeing. Having a kitchen, laundry, and enough room to spread out for the family made our stay comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
"Another excellent location"
Very close to shopping, restaurants and the business district of Santiago. Rooms / suites vary in size and amenities (smaller fridges/stoves ...). 24 hour security at front desk. Elevators can be a bit slow. Average internet speed. Overall, it was habitable.
"Great for business or families"

I stayed here for two weeks with my wife and two year old son while relocating to Santiago for an expat assignment. The room was decent sized and included a small kitchen area with a microwave, refrigerator, and a two-burner stove. All the furniture was modern, the room was clean and they have free wifi. The staff was friendly. The location was perfect for our situation, and it's just a short walk to the mall and grocery store. There are also convenience markets right around the corner.
"Felt right at home!"

I'd give it a 4.5 rating if I could. As you'll probably notice from other posts, this is an apart-hotel, a series of rooms within a floor or two of an apartment building. It is intended for long-term stays, or even short ones where you'd rather have flexibility and all the basics instead of merely a huge hotel room with only some conveniences. Location is quite good -within walking distance of the huge Costanera Center complex (with its newly opened, gigantic mall), the Tobalaba metro station, and the financial district of Santiago. My room was relatively small, but quite completely furnished (except for a puzzling clothes washer that, apparently, also dries but I never got to truly understand, and a totally pointless dishwasher that would be better suited in a large household). My bathroom door could not close, there was a loose wood molding bar on the bedroom floor, but these are forgivable and fixable. Should that contraption acting as a washing machine be also a dryer, the place would be perfect. I rented a car during my stay in Chile, and the management has at least two parking spaces in a gated carport available to renters. Just make sure that you park in the service parking in front of the building (and NOT in the street) while you check in; the management will give you a remote once you're ready. However, be sure you know your way back. Helvecia St. meets Vitacura Ave. on one side and another side street (Ebro St.) at the other. The street orientations may be puzzling, and at least five major avenues meet at different spots nearby, so missing Helvecia is easy. One wrong turn, and you'll end up far from the hotel. Fortunately, as Costanera Center is nearby (you simply cannot miss a 70-story building), you'll know how far you are from the place by merely looking at the skyline. Service was impeccable: from the lady who takes you upstairs to show you your apartment (and who apparently speaks good English -I'm a native Spanish speaker, so I have no way to tell), to the lady serving as admin and occasional concierge, to the security guards at the lobby (this is a relatively safe neighborhood), to the maids (left my place spotless every time) they were all attentive, nice, helpful. I was tortured by a ski company with rather impersonal service (I'll post something about it elsewhere in TA) by having to wait 1 1/2 hours for a pickup, and the Santa Magdalena staff all took upon themselves the task of reaching the company and getting them to respond. The admin even took some time to brief me on the myriad of Chilean coins and even checking my dollar bills to see if ANYBODY in Chile would accept them (except for duty free stores at the airport, your dollars have to be literally in mint condition if you want to use them... go figure) Noise is an issue, although a minor one. The neighbor upstairs (at the private part of the complex) had some loud conversations near midnight, but that went away quickly. There's a probability that a neighbor had a family member with a mental disability who would scream on impulse during the early morning -not sure if a guest or a tenant,- but that was it. There were occasional street noises (particularly from Santiago's bus fleet), but I was at an 11th. floor, so they weren't truly an issue. There's always earplugs to cope with that. I was truly pleased. If and when I come back to Santiago, I'll stay at this place again.
"Very good in South America"
02/21/12 Luke L Vancouver, Canada
Our family stay here for three nights in February 2012. Travelling to serveral cities/countries in South America, this is pretty good accommodation to stay. The room is decently furnitured, clean, bright and spacious, especially it has a full kitchen and washing machine. Even though it has no bath tub (shower only), it has to wash room, one in master bedroom and another in living room. Location is convenient, safe and similar to higher class in North America. Just a few blocks to subway station which is the main transportation way in Santiago. As well known, the majority people in Santiago do not speak English (Spanish only), but the lady manager here speaks fluent English as she lived in US for many years, and she is very nice and helpful. However, we had a few glitches here. Santa Magdalena Apartments does not own the whole building. We stayed on the 11th floor but the 12th is private property. Since it is laminate hard floor, any tiny noise from upstairs could be heard clearly. Unfortunately the guy right up our suite seemed not sleeping at all overnight and walked all the time so made a lot of noise on the floor until 5:30am in next day. We did not sleep well at all at the first day. It looked that the manager had known this issue so she changed another suite to us immediately when we complained next morning. We also had Internet connectivity problem both wireless and wired cable. Living room and another bedroom were little hot as they had only master bedroom with AC. Suggestions: You'd better comfirm the breakfast is included before you arrive. You also need an power adapter as they use Europe type power outlet. The volt is 240, instead of 110 in North America.
"Good apartment hotel, excellent service"
01/30/12 Martti L Helsinki, Finland
Santa Magdalena apartment hotel is located in the banking area of Santiago. The location is very good for both business travellers and tourists. The nearest metro station is just 5 minutes away. The reception person was most helpful and spoke very good English. The rooms are spacious, the kitchen is well equipped. The only negative thing for those who cook their food is the location of the nearest supermarket, which is 15 minutes away by foot. The one near the hotel has been closed and the new one is expected to open during the spring of 2012.
"Nice and comfortable - the staff is very nice!"
10/27/11 spaboy12345 Chicago, Illinois
I spent time a few months back in Santiago, Chile. The hotel was very nice and comfortable. It is an older property, but it is located walking distance to many shops and restaurants. The staff was very kind and friendly. I do not speak any Spanish, and most people in Santiago do NOT speak English..so communication was difficult. I did have an interpreter with me for most of the trip.
