      room was nice, bathroom a little too small. Breakfast area is way too small and breakfast items leave a lot to be desired. Went and ate breakfast out both days we were there. There were several sports teams staying and the breakfast area was no where near big enough to accommodate people.

      I really enjoyed the up to date decor. The beds were comfortable and the complementary breakfast was good too. Hot items such as biscuits and gravy, eggs, and bacon were available for breakfast. I would definitely think about staying here again!

    A nice, well-appointed, and well-attended facility. Accomodated a last minute request for a room change. Comfortable, clean, and very well worth the... price. Does not have a elevator, so if you are not "able" or "willing" to lug your luggage upstarirs, be sure to ask for a first floor accomodation. Very convenient to I-35 and I-235 and local, national chain restaurants. Exercise area could use a blind or privacy curtain, however, as its window is directly on the main hallway..., so if you are not the most "buff", but are looking for a nice walk on the treadmill, expect a voyeur or two to visually critique/consider your moves! front desk and housekeeping are very attentive and professional. by Dave  from Des Moines IA on 05/15/13

    The hotel was very clean as were the rooms. The beds were really comfortable and there was enough room to move around. However it got hot pretty easy in the room but that was just as easily fixed. Great hotel would definitely stay there again.

    The gentleman who works overnight was awesome! The hot tub closed at 11pm I got back about 1am & he let me go down & sit in it. The only thing I can complain about was in the morning we could smell cigarette smoke (like somebody was smoking in the hallway) but we were surrounded by nothing but non-smoking rooms.     I have stayed at this hotel several times during stays in Des Moines, and I am consistently very satisfied with the quality, clenliness, and overall value. It is also very easy to get to and from the interstate from this location, which makes moving about the city convenient.

    My four children and I were driving cross country and had put in a 14hr day on the road. This motel was perfect for our needs. Some place to grab a little sleep, some breakfast, and close to the on ramp to get going again.

    My fiance and I stayed at this Super 8 four nights, including Valentines Day. The staff was extremely friendly, the breakfast was well-stocked and items were readily available upon request. Our biggest disappointment was that the hot tub was out of order. This was one of the biggest reasons that we chose the Super 8...quite disappointing! :(

    My room was clean and comfortable. The only (minor) complaint I had was that the bed sheets were a bit worn out. Otherwise I was totally satisfied.

    1 adult and 2 teenagers stayed comfortably in a two Queen room. Space is cramped but we just slept after a concert and headed out in the morning. Left at 5am before the breakfast was set up so I can't comment.

    The room was a little crowded with furniture. The beds are comfortable with 3 pillows each. However, the sauna was broken, the spa was out of order and they advertise fresh baked cookies from 4pm to 6pm there was no cookies. The yogurt was outdated. I don't think I will stay again.

    I stayed in this hotel during a cross country trip. It was just the type of basic low cost hotel I was looking for. It is close to I-80 for quick on and off access. Despite the low cost the bed was very comfortable. I would stay here again for this type of trip.

    The room was exceptionally clean as was the bath area. The beds were somewhat uncomfortable but that is what you put up with when being away from home. The front desk staff was excellent in their dealing with customers!

    We enjoyed great, friendly service by everyone at the Super 8 Hotel in Clive. They had wi-fi available, and the location is within walking of 6-8 restaurants. Only 5 minutes drive to several malls. Couldn't believe the bargain rates for the rooms. We'll defintely stay there again.

    My 15 & 20 yr old sons and I stayed 3 nights while visiting Grandma for Thanksgiving, so occupancy was only about 25%. We were very happy with the comfort of the beds, location, cleanliness, courtesy of the staff, free continental breakfast, and the overall stay. All the rooms were renovated in the past 12 months, but some of the old wood trim and doors […] remain and looks worn in spots. The bathroom fan worked, but was very noisy - not a dealbreaker. Our room was on the side away from the freeway so there was no road noise, but a little noise from the neighbors as you get with most hotels. Conveniently located three tenths of a mile south of the expansive Clive running trail and quick access to McVicar freeway/I80 which gets you anywhere you need 10 to 15 minutes. We will definitely stay there again. Read more

    The hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable. The person at the cunter was friendly and helpful. The ONLY downside was that the tub did not drain quickly during my shower....in facft it had to drained when I left the room. But fo me that was ot enough to get upset about, I was only there one night. The breakfast was o.k., cereal, waffle, coffee, the usual; […] and the breakfast area was VERY clean. It located in an area that is mostly populated by hotels, there are close restaurants, and most other things are close, within about a mile to a shopping area.     We did not get the room I reserve for I wanted 2 beds and handicapped bathroom. But at the time we check-in this is the room they had ready for us was 1 double bed and not handicapped accessible bathroom. the room was clean and nice.

    We had a pleasant one night stay at the Super 8 in Clive, Iowa. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The location was perfect since we were traveling from Minnesota on I-35 and headed to Omaha on I-80 the next morning. The motel is very near the interchange.
