"Close to shopping sites but sink is too small"
Location of hotel is very good as it is near mongkok shopping street. Overall the hotel room is comfortable but the sink is too small and it is inconvenient to wash face and rinse mouth with it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Hotel got improved a lot."
I am a long time visitor, I stayed so many times, if I came by myself the room for me was OK, but some time I got the room so small special I came with my wife, anyway I like Cityview, it improved a lot.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Reasonably priced central location"
The hotel is close to MTR and coveniently located to get to and from where you want to goGenuine Expedia guest review
The location of the hotel is fantastic. The staff is very courteous. Amenities are few and in between.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Great experience, although a little expensive. Nicely locatedGenuine Expedia guest review
If I come to Hong Kong again I will stay at this hotel. My first choice is cityview hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Service without a smile"
The biggest impression I had of your hotel was how unfriendly your staff was. When we stay in nice hotels, the service is something we enjoy. Most staff members did their job without friendliness... most looked unhappy. Location is good - hotel bedding great and clean rooms. Breakfast good. One server saw me waiting for help and actually turned around […] so as not to have to assist. Unacceptable!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to MTR"
This is a good hotel with easy access to the subway. A little bit worn and in need of some updates but basically clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for Business"

"Super convenient to get to major shopping areas"
Hotel service was very good and rooms were clean and decent. It's a stone's throw away to the Yau Ma Tei station which gets you practically everywhere, unlike my stays at other hotels which required me to walk a distance. Especially convenient after an entire day of shopping and u just want to get back to your room fast for a rest.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old MK hotel"
This is my 2nd time staying at Cityview. I booked 2 rooms, one Deluxe and another Superior. The Superior room is good in terms of cleanliness on 12th Floor. The Deluxe room they assigned on 6th and 7th floors had the old and dirty smell. We requested room change due to the condition. Then they moved us up to another Deluxe room on 8th floor. Room on […] 8th floor is better and acceptable. Beds are comfortable though. Service was okay but could be better. No comparison to hotel service in Taiwan, China, Thailand and US. I would have rated them 4 stars if they didn't waste our time on room changes. Our first time experience a few years ago in this hotel was a lot better. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Pollution or icebox"
The room was on the 12th floor, and street noise and traffic pollution were really bad , meaning that unless you put on the freezing cold air con ( outside was 19c ) and ran the bathroom fan all the time, you almost choked in the fumes ! Choice either freeze or breath.Genuine Expedia guest review
"excellent, affordable choice in Kowloon"
Very modern and clean. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast (combination western and Chinese; delicious coffee). Nice restaurant and bar. Around the corner from subway station.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very good service and facilities, including exercise room. But location in Kowloon near mass transportation and shopping makes it very convenient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It's a decent hotel located in a convienet area."
The hotel's location is one of the best in Kowloon. You can actually walk from Mong Kok or Tsim Sha Tsui. The MTR is less than a 100 yards and there are tons of shops and local small restaurants in the area. There's also KFC, Burger King and McDonald's if that's your cup of tea. The room however is very small and if you have 2 or more luggage, you'll […] have a hard time moving around in the room. The bathroom is okay, at least if has it's own shower, but there are fruit flies around the drain area. On the first night, I thought I had gotten rid of all of them but somehow they kept coming back the next morning. I would recommend this hotel if you're only looking for a place to sleep that has free wireless internet. If you're expecting something bigger, go for the deluxe room, I ended up with with superior. The price and the location are good enough for me.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our hotel room was a bit small, but that wasn't a problem because there was so much to see and do. We heard that we could have asked for a room in the new section that was larger, but this was fine for an overnight! Our room was very clean and the bed comfortable with wonderful covers! We were able to walk to the Ladies Market, Jade Market and the Night […] Market. Our only problem was the Concierge was not friendly or helpful, in fact he was rather rude! Everyone else was quite friendly, so we had an enjoyable stay! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place to stay in Hong Kong"
Good location near restaurants and stores. Staff was very friendly and rooms were nice although small.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is converted from a former YMCA hostel. It is located in a most convenient location, with easy reach to all major attractions. It would be an idea place for those who like to hunt for bargains at the Temple Street night market, or the Women Street market. The hotel is a stone-throw from the YauMaTei MTR station, and is serviced by free shuttle […] van if you take the Airport Express train from HKG airport. If you preferred a cheaper way to go to the airport, the Cityflyer stop is 3 minutes from the hotel. I rated the room comfort at 3.5 not because the rooms are not comfortable, but because the rooms are a bit small. However, all amenities are included in the room: WiFi, hair dryer, TV (small screen), comfortable bed, table. So apart from room size it can match many 5-star hotels. The rooms themselves are kept maticulously clean. The fact that it is so close to an MTR station in the heart of Kowloon, makes it an idea place to stay (just stop over or longer term) if one is looking for a comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price. "Stay at Cityview if you're in Yau Ma Tei"
All the staff were professional and helpful. They upgraded our rooms to accommodate 3 people so we didn't need a roll-away bed. The housekeeping staff who cleaned our rooms were excellent and very nice. The location was perfect.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great value, bad service"
At check-in, I found service to be pretty bad in terms of assistance and courtesy. When taking the lift to my floor, concierge seems to think they have priority and asked me to take the next lift. Room itself was VERY spacious, cannot complain and facilities were adequate for the price although another hotel I was looking at had much better service […] based on visit last time. Bathroom was also very spacious, more so than the Towers at the Sheraton! Location was pretty good, easy to get to the station but not many late night stalls around; Jordan might be better for that. "Consider Consider any other option"
I chose this hotel based on the ratings given by previous guests, but I do not understand how it was granted. The Citiview is old, dirty and surroundings are really bad. It really doesn't worth what you pay for. If you want to have a good time in Hong Kong, you must stay on the side of Hong Kong Island, preferably Central or Wan Chai.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Decent for tourists"
I go to HK all the time. And we usually stay on the HK Island side. But this time we had some errands to take care of in Kowloon and the New Territories, so I chose this hotel, which is conveniently located steps away from the Yau Mau Tei MTR station. For tourists, it's a pretty convenient location. Yau Mau Tei (YMT) has two MTR lines going through […] it, and it's easy to get to many tourist attractions from it. The neighborhood around YMT is nothing really great. Though right on Nathan Rd, many of the side streets can be kind of gritty, but as a tourist don't let that turn you off. The hotel is literally a 3 minute walk from the Temple St night market, if that's your thing. Lots of local food around as well if your adventurous (which you should be!). Taxi to/from HKG is around $240 HKD (~$30 USD) and takes around 30-40 minutes, which is cheaper and easier than taking the Airport Express + local MTR if there are three of you. Even if there are only two of you, the taxi is well worth it for convenience alone (in my opinion). Staff are nice, rooms are a bit old but fairly clean, rooms are small but decent for HK. 7-11 by the back entrance is nice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location and good price"
In Kowloon. Excellent service from interested staff. You are a few steps away from Hong Kong's excellent subway system. Clean and pleasant. Rooms can be small but quite adequate. Only issue was taking a morning shower -water temperature would fluctuate. Showering early solved that problem. For the price, a good deal.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
no wireless. poor sound insulation. Shut down water, and did not have estimated time on maintenance. Overall I would not recommend for business or family.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel for couple."
This is not a fancy hotel but comfortable. The room is big enough for couple. The condition is pretty good. The location is very convientent, approx 2 min walk from Yau Ma Tei subway station (exit A). Circle K and seven eleven just next to subway station. Two block aways from Nathan Road. We took the airport express to kowloon station and there are […] free shuttle to the hotel. The only complain is the mattress, I feel like earthquake when my husband turn at night. Overall, I will like to stay again if the price is resonable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

the hotel is situated in a very busy area. The lobby is beautiful. We were in the older section of the hotel. The room is small and every thing is age. I know I can stay in a nicer hotel for the amount of money I paid.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Solo Travel with Ease"
After reading reviews like most people, I wasn't sure what I was in for. However, I found the CityView to be very nice and the staff extremely useful and pleasant. I forgot to get an airport shuttle to the hotel but purchased it right at the airport for the same price as booking it online. They helped me find locations and even told me cost of how much […] it would take to get there. I like to shop so if you want that then this is a great destination for bargain shopping, definitely not for retail malls with name brands. That's Hong Kong Island, stay there for that. The metro is really close as well. My one negative was possibly the breakfast. It was a nice mixture of Chinese breakfast and western breakfast, but the eggs were not good at all; very runny and waterbased. Overall It was a great stay really nice for the price. We stayed for 4 nights and LOVED the location. The bus stop is right outside the hotel and the metro station is a very short walk across the street. The tour service is a great bonus within the hotel and they arranged our Disney tickets and transport collection and drop off right outside the hotel. Very convenient! There were some unsightly stains on […] the carpets in the room but not too much to worry about. We were upgraded to another room and received very warmly upon check-in, even though our flight was terribly delayed and we are arrived at 1am. The staff were friendly and pleasant and we enjoyed the breakfasts very much! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Cityview Hotel Kowloon-great location"
I've stayed at a few different hotels in Hong Kong over the years and The Cityview is comparable to most but only half the price! Just off Nathan Road, really close to the Ladies Market and Train Station. I would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

room was cold. airconditioning blasting. housekeeping brought up a heater and stopped air conditioning. . just set heater it in the room. all controls were chinese. so i guessed at how to use it. it did not work too well...but could have been me. had to pay for internet. way to expensive. hotel was comfortable and clean. newly renovated.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Very good location and value"
Very good location and value - close to transportation, major shopping centre, tourist attraction, metro and of course the buses! Oh yes, there are also plenty of restaurant within meters of the hotel!Genuine Expedia guest review
the hotel room is so tiny. a table is rather big to further limit you to squeeze around. need luggage racks since you have to put your luggage on bed, or move all things from one table. the staffs were friendly. when i book it, the internet was free, but when got there, there is a fee for using it. the staff told me that i made a mistake that i did […] not believe so. good location by nation road which is the center of kowloon, close to subway. the pool run by ymca is a 25 meter long for hsort course, but temp was way too high at 31C. "Awesome Condition of Hotel"
One of the worse hotels that I have ever stayed in. It use to be a YMCA, and the room looks like it still is. It has not been renovated. The rates that you are paying for this room are not worth it. Please avoid the mistake that I made.Genuine Expedia guest review
Well located, good place to beGenuine Expedia guest review
"Cityview Hong Kong"
I think the floor was softer than the bed. Typical small HK hotel room, nice bathroom. Slow elevators, no good views, and they charge and arm and a leg for internet access. So much for any perks of staying on the "Executive Floor"!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hardest beds, smallest rooms and very expensive"
We got the superior rooms and they were very small. I slept in 3 different hotels in China and Hong Kong and this room was by far the smallest and the most uncomfortable bed. Ugh. I may stay here again but I will definitely review my options and see if I can find something with a descent price and more comfortable. Most of the hotel employees that […] I interacted with spoke enough English to get by and that was acceptable. No wi-fi in the room so don't plan on using the iDevice if staying here.
