The carpets were so dirty that when you walked on it when getting out the shower your feet were black on the bottom before you could put your shoes on. I had a satisfactory stay. My room was clean and comfortable enough to spend the night while I was waiting on 8 hour greyhound layover. The taxi ride to the and from the greyhound station should be less then $12.00 each way - I think I paid around $10 each way. All in all this is a good option for a stranded traveler.

the hotel itself for an older place wasn't to bad. fairly clean but it is the hangout for partiers. the first room they put me in smelled like 10 4 pack a day smokers had been it for a month and had just left. I am an exsmoker that still likes the smell of a cig but not a full ashtray it was bad. the tv didn't work and I think I could have purchased […] anything you could imagine in the room next door. which had 5-6 people just hanging around going in and out. they did move me to a better room much quieter no smoke odor. but you could hear groups of partiers all night pulling in renting rooms and woke up to a big brawl between some guy and a girl that told everyone there she was a prostitute and the guy had ripped her off, not a good family place. other than that it was GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! . When I booked my reservation on line with the Masters Inn I was fully aware that it was an economy lodge. I was in town to tour USC and I am on a fixed budget. I was very disappointed by the accommodations and especially my treatment by the staff. My air conditioning wasn’t working and the bath tub did not drain. The staff was not willing to resolve the situation and the manager was unavailable. After trying for hours to get a room with a working bathroom I checked out. I have stayed in numerous economy lodges before and have always had a good experience. I was extremely disappointed with my room and treatment at the Masters Inn. I was only staying in Columbia for the night. It was conveniently close to the airport. I got there late at night, so of course food places were closed, but they had a vending machine with snacks. In the day, I realized how close it was to food places and a mini mall and other shopping places.

Room smelled like pets have been in it. Overall cleanliness was horrible. Mold in shower was disgusting. Dressers had crumbs in them so i did not store my clothes in them while there. One front desk clerk on day shift was very friendly, knowledgeable and helped with directions that were very helpfully for maneuvering around the city. Cleaning lady seemed annoyed that the room was still occupied at 10:30am when check out was not until 11am. I chose the location because it was near the airport and had a pool. Though i did not get into the pool as the lack of cleanliness to the room made me scared to use the pool. the bathroom door didn't close all the way, there was no exhaust fan, they only gave us 2 towels everyday even though I repeatedly requested 5 as there were 4 of us staying in the room and I have very long hair requiring an extra towel. there were no hours posted on the pool and it only seemed to be open at random times.

Well, this hotel needs serious updating. It's easy access to USC that is the only reason we stayed there. The location is not bad....but the room was dingy...the sheets were scary so I sprayed them...the pillows had no filling very limp. everything was sort of dusty.
