Maui Seaside Hotel - Kahului

You feel like at home. You have everything you need. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic. Surrounding area are nice, quiet although by a big street. Easy to go to shopping and eating areas. I like the breeze at the seaside! My stay was perfect!

This is a clean motel. The included breakfast was great and the rooms were big. I didn't like paying for parking but I would have not been happy if I was one of the people who got told that they had sold out of parking and they needed to go park across the street. The staff were friendly.

Very old and nothing has been modernized in the last 30 years. Very well maintained by so old it is out of date. Duck to get under the shower head to get you hair wet, cannot use the table to do work on your laptop because it is a hall table, third rate bed but at least it did not make my back worse, small room, parking was lousy and spaces too narrow, […] only soft drink machine was out of order, small noisy window air conditioner, room hot when I arrived, tug boats in the harbor were too loud late evening and early morning, univiting dining room. But they have a dozen hard-working locals keeping the place maintained as well as possible. In Illinois this would rate as a 1 star hotel. Read more

We needed a room for the night while the clan gathers. We chose the hotel for its proximity to the airport which is about 2.5 miles from Arrival. The room is big and clean with basic amenities. I have no complaints.

If you are doing Maui on a budget and spend a lot of time exploring the island, then this s a great place. If you are looking for a 'resort' experience, then look elsewhere

Straight out of the mid century this hotel has lots of character and is very conveniently located. We found it clean and well maintained. Tante's restaurant found in the hotel is absolutely the best. Very good food and friendly service

We stayed only one night in the Hotel as the condo we had booked was not available until the second day of out vacation. Overall the hotel is good value for money. The buildings are old and many details could do with some renewing, however the premises are generally in good condition and clean. The room was also clean and the amenities in the bathroom […] outdated and could do with a renewal. Personnel at reception was ok but not super friendly. I'd save my money and stay elsewhere next time. Beds were horrible! I could feel every spring. I woke up with horrible kink in my shoulder. Mirror was falling off wall and held together by tape. They charge $5 parking, ridiculous. It did force us to start our day early because we wanted to get out of our room.

Overall we were very happy with the hotel but it is showing its age in places. Right on the water is a huge plus. We could watch the paddle boarders and outrigger canoes from our bed. The food at the attached Tantes restaurant was very good. An additional $14 a night to include breakfast was well worth it. A good selection for everyone - from oatmeal […] and fruit to ham and eggs! Parking over there in Maui for this hotel was awful. They need more parking spaces, I had to travel around for 30 minutes just to find a parking spot. The lot needs to be redone. Maybe put in a 2nd floor prking garage.

Room was comparable to a low-quality motel. Room not 375 square feet as claimed - more like 225. One duct-taped-on surge protector to serve all electrical needs, including TV, lights, outlets for phone charger, hair dryer, etc. If we turned off wall light switch - the TV and everything plugged in would turn off. Had to carry luggage up outside stairs […] - no elevator or bell service. Very thin room walls. Outdoor lighting poor. Bad paint job in room. Not a deluxe room as paid for. No ocean view as paid for. Front desk staff not very helpful. Told that beach area was polluted and unsafe for contact with skin. Bad neighborhood. Breakfast restaurant OK. We arrived late night about 10 - checked out first thing the next morning. Hotel charged us 2 nights for 1 night stay. Read more

This is not the Four Seasons, but it is a nice 60's style hotel and great value if you need to be near the airport or are arriving late or departing early. I have stayed at this hotel many time over the years where I call it home. The parking is not the best and I was surprised that they charged an $extra$ $5 for parking daily. Location was excellent for all the locations on Maui. Our room had a Bay View and the grassy area and pool were in front of our door. The property is older but everything was well thought out.
