Was supposed to stay the week but checked out after first night. Peeling paint on walls. Looks like mold was painted over in the bathroom. Outdated ac unit that did not cool the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Economical Room"
Hotel is a little dated but, in a great location in Waikiki. Staff were great and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great affordable place"
It was pretty nice, a little old, but well looked after. Once they forgot to clean our room which was a bit of a downer. All the staff were incredibly helpful and nice though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fair enough room for price"
Family stay, 3 bed in room helped accommodate us in one room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great value for active folks"
I'm ok with roughing it. I'm ok with outdated facilities. The air conditioner went dead and they quickly fixed it. I appreciate their quick response. Good value for WaikikiGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old rooms with hidden costs."
Good location but rooms are worn out. Needs refurbishin. Mandatory hidden costs not revealed at time of booking. $25 per night parking, $10 per night for WiFi. Not good value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"On a budget room"
The stay was barely acceptable due to the location. The hotel is in the midst of a renovation. Certain rooms and floors are newly renovated and appear ok; however, my room was not. The room was old and appeared to have been last renovated a long time ago, maybe the 80s. The tile, caulking, walls, and decor were outdated and torn up. The windows are […] single pane and the noise is readily available in your room. My air conditioner's drip pan was from a plastic plant pot. The AC was not held up and the weight had caused the AC to rip through the wall with an opening to the outside. I did not visit the pool, so I cannot comment. The hotel additionally charged me for the $10 a day resort fee although it was supposed to have been paid for through my reservation on hotels.com. When I asked if they could do anything about reviewing my reservation, they said they could not see anything from outside vendors. The resort fee did cover free water and fruit from the front desk as well as pool towel use, but they were constantly out of fruit and water. There is no parking except for valet which is 25.00 dollars a day. However, this is common in Waikiki and their parking staff were prompt and friendly. Lastly, the breakfast buffet was horrible. Food would have been better in a child's cafeteria. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The location was ideal. Everything we needed was directly downstairs. They charge a $10 concierge fee once you get there that we were unaware of that includes bottled water and fruit from the front desk. Other than that, it was a great experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Gateway to Waikiki"
Very friendly staff, clean rooms and low price..overall great location since all Waikiki hotels are a walk to one place or another. Free parking on Alawai Canal and a couple of nearby streets but read streat cleaning signs carefully. Parkign at hotel is pricey. Pool is on 4th floor and very tiny.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Needs Attention and Renovation"
Although the lobby seems remodeled the rooms definitely need that. The main concern is the stinking restroom. I wonder if the managers ever enter these rooms to check on the condition of these rooms. The bath tub was very rusty and the fixtures hardly worked. The whole bathroom smelled like urine. Definitely needs to be disinfected. Poor internet reception. […] Funny they call it a resort. The service was good though. The people at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
A budget-friendly hotel, clean and comfortable. It is just a short block from the beach. My room had a beautiful view of Diamond Head. The hotel is opposite the zoo and close to restaurants. I greatly enjoyed my stay in this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The rooms were really shabby. Beds were extremely uncomfortable, gave me a backache. The bathroom, although clean, again wasn't great. The paint was coming off, the tiles were chipped, curtain was torn.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I believe my scores are low because they are renovating. But the mattresses were the worse and I don't even have back trouble. The curtains were old and tethered. Bathtub was hideous. I did have to kill a roach in the bathroom. Dont buy into the whole Oceanview statement to see the ocean you will have to be on at least the 13th floor.and then you are […] so far away. Maybe once they finished renovation it will be better. Dont waste money on that awful breakfast buffet go down the street and eat for $4.95. Be prepared they cater to the Asians not the Americans Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"How can 3 stars rate be $100-200 per night?"
Reserved 2 rooms, both a/c is old and noisy, both room's curtains are old and torn(shown with black duct tape). Elevators old and bathroom door is very narrow. Overall, rooms need an upgrade. For rates at $100-200 per night, I will not come back again to this hotel, unless it gets a serious upgrade. Thankful the staffs and valet guys are cool and c […] ourteous. A good hotel, not superior. comfortable with an ABC store connected to it.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very loud noises around. But affordable rates. Too bad parking is not free and is expensive. $25/day and I only park at night. Has pool but no towels and change rooms. Pool is too small and unheated.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice and accesible"
Hotel was a little bit old but our stay is good. Hotel location is just right for sightseeing, restaurants, souvenir shops and Waikiki Beach.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel Overlooking Street"
This hotel needs some major renovation. The curtains in the first room we got were completely ripped. I had to request for another room. Be advised that the room doesn't come with a microwave. You may request one but it's an additional charge of $10 a day. I thought that was pretty ridiculous. I've never been to a hotel that charges for a microwave. […] Parking is valet only and costs $25 per day. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially to people from Hawaii. Very disappointing!!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"You can't judge a book by its cover!"
The smallest room ever. with a big tv thou. Had people living in it full time. 30 dollar parking and a 10 administration fee. Surprising since the room was only 100. Great location for price. it's just patched together with new paint. Very weird. I called it little tokyo!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not the greatest, but ok for the price."
Rooms were less than expected. Lots of construction going on right outside as well beginning at 5am...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel in a central location to all activities"

"Noisy location and old furnitures"
Noisy place. The sound from police cars, garbage trucks and others start at early morning before 6 am. My bed was dent. The refrigerator looks like from 80s, and not work. I found that there are only 2 plug-in for TV, refrigerator and coffee maker after the second day. At all, everything looks old except the TV. If you drive here, you need spend at […] least another 20 dollars for parking. Good thing is, it is close to the shopping malls. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Shopping and comfort"
The hotel is located close to the main shopping area in Waikiki, which is nice. But it's also on a very busy and loud street that may wake you up early. Overall it was very nice though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Waikiki Gateway is in my mind a "Hidden Treasure". The location ideal for vacay or business, centrally located. The rooms which many are being renovated is warm & inviting. The staff is what makes this property such a gem...from the friendly & courteous valet to the most helpful & professional front desk staff. It's nice to come to a property that […] first off greets you with a warm smile and goes out of their way to make your stay as close to the comforts of home. Truly a gem in Waikiki. "Great location walking distance to everything."
Highly recommend this place it's an oldie but goodie I would say. Location is awesome, the hotel it self is older but in decent shape. My room had 2 patios that was a huge plus! We arrived to the hotel and it smelt of sewer. We arrived and were given the wrong room, we reserved a room with a king and instead got two doubles. The beds were so uncomfortable, the one had a spring coming out. Being pregnant I expected more accommodation when addressing the issues but instead they brought me a thin blanket to put under the sheets, […] which I had to put on myself. There were bums all around the hotel and one even tried to come after us walking home. We were awoken around 4 every morning by sirens and the rooms were so dirty, I felt like I had to sleep in complete sweats and shower with shoes on. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not as advertised."
I was pretty disappointed in this hotel. The shower had mold all over it and leaked all over the floor of the bathroom. The room smelled of mold and urine. There is a fish market near the hotel, so the lobby and elevators smelled really pungent as well. The $10/day amenities fee is a bit of a rip-off. Also, one of the hotel employees walked into the […] room while we were sleeping. The hotel staff was very friendly, however. They were kind enough to hold our bags since we arrived prior to check-in time. They also booked a shuttle to the airport for us, which saved a lot of trouble. The location is decent: not in the center of everything but a close enough walk. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Good location but the room has been repainted many times. Amenities are at a minimum with just soap, shampoo, coffee, and wifi. All charged extra.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location but need improvement in cleanness"
I was satisfied with its great location and kind staff. But facilities was old and need improvement in cleanness. The inner blanket didn't seem clean enough.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotels.com only wants your review if it is a good one, but I will state again my review. The hotel is hard to find, no address or sign, you have to go in from the back. Hotel clerks not real friendly, lobby is nice looking, elevators are old and rickety, room is ok, bathrooms are ancient and tiny, room has only one dim lamp for lighting, air conditioner […] barely works and is literally on the floor, room has sliding glass doors with a balcony, but no screen. The best thing about this hotel, it is literally two blocks from the beach. For the price, if you are there for the location, it is worth the money. If you are there for the ambiance of the hotel, skip it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to Beach - downtown"
The hotel was okay based on price. I liked it bcoz it was close to attractions but the only concern I was having the facility was not clean. I had no choice other than takin shower in bathtub, but that bathtub was dirty. If looking for cheap price then this is the hotel you wanna book.Genuine Expedia guest review
Easy booking experience. Paid for everything up front. Got to the hotel.....FIRST had the hardest time trying to find parking. The parking is on Kuhio Ave behind the hotel..which is $24 for over night. You wouldn't pay that much for the Hale Koa or Ft. Derrusy parking.....SECOND we went to check in & was told I had to give a $100 security deposit incase […] my hubby & I broke anything. The only time I have EVER had to pay a security deposit was for a rental car! The lobby is nice, you can tell newly renovated. The hallways outside the dooms look gross, NOT renovated. Our room was newly renovated, pretty decent. There were gaps in the shades after you closed them which woke us up as soon as the sun was up. The bathroom was extremely small, not really renovated. Beds were decent. Fridge was good. Flat screen tv worked nice. AC is something fancy that you need to read the manual on how to work. My hubby & I stayed overnight as just a place to sleep after our holiday party at the Hilton. I came back to the hotel after, got to my floor & witnessed several people going into another room to have a party! All were pretty loud, at that point the hotel felt like a hotel for a "fling". I will for sure NEVER stay at this hotel again. Really wish I booked my room in time at the Hale Koa before they sold out! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Four seasons reception area with motel 6 rooms. This hotel smells like a motel 6 and other than a somewhat comfortable bed, sucks. Wouldn't pay more than $60 a night to stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great deal, great location"
Everyone I came into contact with on the staff was gracious and helpful. The room was very clean and although showed some age, it looked pretty good overall. The location was great - we could walk anywhere and the green on the corner and across at Ft. Derussy was great and really added to the view.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I chose this hotel as a last minute choice. The price was incredibly expensive for what you got. The room was outdated, the toilet did not flush, wifi was very slow. The reception staff were cheerful It was close to the beach on the up-sideGenuine Expedia guest review

2 nights; the hotel is rather old and needs renovation but the room was clean and OK. The location is very good (Waikiki) however the outside noise was very audible in the room. Good for a few days and less expensive compared to others. Mind the resort fee.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"nice hotel to spend time in waikiki"
this hotel was very good in terms of many things. on the first floor you have ABC store so you can buy most of the things you need there. people at reception were also nice and helpful and check-in and out were very smooth. it depends on the room you get but since this hotel is very close to the ocean, you will see nice ocean view. for transportation, […] you have THE BUS stop in front of the hotel so very convinient. room is clean and confortable. if i can come back to waikiki, i would use the same hotel next time as well.
