In general the room is really good, just renovated with good appliances and spacious closet. It would be nice to have blackouts on the main window, light filters in and am not a fan of that. Also, have an acoustic filtering door, so that the sound from the outside does not enter the room (same with the window if needed). Hotel provided with some shampoo and conditioner, but no soap in the bathroom, luckily I travel with one.

For the money and location it's a ok place to stay. I stayed for five day and room service did not clean my room for two of them days. The room did not have a phone so I had to walk (elevator super slow ) down four flights of stairs every time I needed something. The hotel also runs out of towels often so you have to use the same towel for days. The hotel never gave us washcloth so we had to use the face towel to wash our face. The room was very clean and large. The A/C was wonderful. I would stay here if I was trying to save money other then that I would stay at another hotel.

The location of this hotel was great!! However, housekeeping never came the 3 nights my friends and I were there. There is no phone in the room and we had to use our cell phones to call the hotel lobby just to get towels and toilet paper. Would I stay here again? Only if no other hotel is available.

We booked hotel Eva via Expedia and we found the experience quite disappointing. First of all this is the first time that a hotel charges you for parking in the same place that you stay. The most disappointing fact about this hotel is the room comfort and i am amazed at the architecture of the rooms since they are deplorable. The AC is at the extinct corner of the room and you will feel the heat throughout your stay with little comfort. Some of the staff members are rude and i feel they have not even had the basic training of customer support. The only good point about the hotel is the location with it being near to the beach as well as the main attractions....

I am 21 years old and usually don't care about anything as long as I have somewhere to sleep but this was just HORRIBLE !!! They didn't have towels or wash clothes, no soap, shampoo, you know the little things any other hotel would come with. The "manager" was very young unprofessional, leaning over on walls like she's tired when she talks to you. Half the employees didn't even speak English. They expected us to pay for parking 25$ a day when they didn't even have their stuff together. There was construction going on outside, and they repeatedly blocked the parking to the hotel. It was just terrible, every single day we were there they didn't have anymore towels and wash clothes and would go "find some" and they would be dirty. This is just a completely terrible hotel, no microwave, nothing. Just horrible. They had a nice tv in the room though. Beds were hard and uncomfortable.

The Hotel Eva is conveniently located, easy walking distance to stores, restaurants and the beach. Visit would have been better if there wasn't so much construction on the street, meaning we had to move our car out of the hotel garage before we had intended to due the garage being blocked off. I would suggest parking at the public lot around the corner on 16th. It's $16 for 24 hours (hotel is $25).

Hotel is close to a hold of things. so that is great, however be mindful that there is no pool or amenities. What you see is what you get. What is nice though is that it is definitely heavily upgraded which is nice. Its a good bang for your buck

We were in Miami Beach visiting the Marlins Park and decided to spend one night at Hotel Eva. The parking was $25, the receptionist wanted us to pay for the night even though we had prepaid through Expedia. They took a photo copy of our credit card and driver's license and filed it in a drawer, which made us feel very unconfortable. The room didn't have an alarm clock or a phone, there were only two towels, the floors upstairs creek, so when people walked around it sounded as if they were going to fall through, we were kept up past 3am from all the noise.

Great hotel, nice clean, spacious rooms. Would definitely stay here again but would request a room on the top floor due to there being no carpets in the rooms it sounds like people are tap dancing!

I have stayed here on 3 different occasions. I like the location of the hotel because it is on Collins. One block away from the main strip so it is less noisier. When the rates are less than 100 a night I like it. Worth the money.

We stayed there for 3 nights...good comfort, but it's a room with housekeeping and not a HOTEL... There is no lobby , it's a table and a lady in room who will take $150 refundable deposit ( I don't like that) and gives room cards with lot of warnings. But the room is clean, comfortable has a small fridge, no microwave ( as site says so) and good bathroom and perfect TV. Location of the hotel is just awesome..5 mins walk you get to every hot place If you just want room then this is place to stay but very cautiously or else $150 will be forfeited

Stayed for a weekend while in South Beach for a bachelor party. Hard to beat the price and the location, and if you're not planning on spending a ton of time in the hotel (why would you?), it's definitely worth it. They provide beach towels, which is nice. The only thing that was somewhat of a pain was that you need someone at the front desk to get you ice, and once he was not there. But that's hardly a big deal. Overall I was very satisfied with the hotel and would definitely stay there again.

The room was clean, but everything was just ok. I think this is typical of any low cost beach hotel. You get what you pay for. Nothing to brag about and I wouldnt go back. All the construction outside didnt help my opinion either.

As far as other rooms, basically you can hear all the noise from outside and the guest partying next door... Thankfully it was only one night of torture since we left the following day. The location of this hotel is what lured me in. Only a block from the beach, very close to restaurants and nightlife but far enough from the clubs to avoid all the noise. When we first arrived the hotel staff acted as if it was their first day on the job. Nobody knew how to check us in exept for one woman who hovered over the desk but was pre-occupied with a telephone call. I had mentioned to them that I had booked on expedia, so I thought it was common sense that I had already pre-paid... Not the case! The girl proceeded to charge my credit card an addition $1,300!! Overdrawing my account so I ended up with a fee. To top the whole experience off their hotel key machine "exploded" (their exact words) so we had to grab someone from the desk everytime we needed to get into our room. Also, the walls and structure must be awefully thin because it sounded as if people were bowling outside of our room. I'm normally not one to write bad reviews but I needed to let people know what's up. The room was clean tho so that was cool.

The hotel is in a great location close to the beach and nightlife. The "lobby" is just a room with a desk, but the staff was nice and helpful. The parking lot is small but we were able to park two cars on a Saturday afternoon with no problem, but you have to reverse out of the garage. The rooms are huge and really nice. There is nothing else to the hotel but the rooms, but that was all we needed. Overall, it was a great stay.

The hotel is in a great location! Everything is very accessible. It was spring break and the kids were out in full force. The only issue was the noise from the spring breakers at all hours of the evening. The room was large, no view but had everything needed.

this hotel was a complete disappointment. I chose this hotel bc I knew after going through customs and getting settled in at a later evening time, we were looking forward to having dinner at the supposed restaurant and not having to go out looking. There was not only no such restaurant, or bar. And even tho this was to be considered a boutique kind of hotel, (the looks upon entering was nice) until you looked closely at how shabby the conditions really were. No blow dryer (I know that can happen when traveling abroad but this is Miami!) way over priced for what we got

Expected a lot more for the money. Parking was expensive and difficult to use. Check in was slow and tedious. Don't expect anything extra like coffee... You need to ask for cups and coffee to make in the room. Towels were thin and sparse. Don't expect refreshing of soap or shampoo... La Quinta does a better job! Sorry Eva.

I chose this hotel because of its location (2 blocks from Convention Center and across from the beach) but this was not enough to make up for the total incompetence of the staff (especially the owner) and the total lack of client creature comforts. MISSING FROM ROOM: COMFORTERS OR BLANKETS for the beds (and none at the front desk), GLASSES for water or any other kitchen items (although there was a kitchenette), DIRTY COFFEE POT (with no coffee or cups for the morning) ??!!!, NO THERMOSTAT to control room temp, NO WASHCLOTHS and NO FLOOR MAT for the bathroom. PLUS a fee to park and fee for a deposit for the room (yikes!). Also, after leaving my computer in the room and the next patron found it and turned it in to the from desk (only good thing that happened), the OWNER of the hotel, said that she would send it to me but after several calls and even text from HER staff, she never returned my calls. I finally had to pay a company go to the hotel, pack it and send it back to me. Please be assured that the location of the hotel was not enough to make me ever go back to this hotel again....EVER.....

I could tell they recently upgraded the rooms, I stayed in a Queen Junior suite. It has two queen beds, a nice closet/changing area & bathroom - which were all nice. The 'kitchen' was an afterthought - it had a refrigerator, sink & two cabinets. I'd recommend taking the kitchen out, since it doesn't do anything other than the mini fridge and make a proper office area. The walls are paper thin so all night we had a hard time sleeping due to the in & out and banging of our neighbors. I'd recommend not parking your car here, its costs $25/ day & the parking garage is made for sccooters or motorcycles, not cars. Save yourself the headache and park at one of the close parking lots (same cost or cheaper) all within a block of here.

Looks a little uninviting in the hotel lobby, but the room was beautiful, large and very clean. Nice decor and very comfortable. Was a little taken by surprised when I realized I had to pay a $6 a day resort fee and had to put down $150 dep., which you recieve back when you check out once they check the room. Close to all good restaurants, nightlife and transportation. Overall I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Eva very much and will definitely stay there again.

I was in Miami for work by myself. I didn't feel completely safe going to my room at night. The doors open to the outside and you have to walk down a sketchy looking hallway. The actual room was nice and the pillows were decent.

Great staff. On this visit, it seemed that the previous guests were a little rough. The top hinge on the bathroom door was loose, but the staff fixed it when we pointed it out. Once we told them about the types of towels we preferred, they always kept those stocked exactly as we requested. We stay here every year. I like that the room is not carpeted, since we tend to get sand on the floor when returning from the beach, and the housekeeping staff always clean that up every day. It just helps make the room cleaner. I also like that the artwork does not look like generic motel artwork, but are works conveying the Ocean.

My only criticism is that the hotel did not have many towels available. I had 4 companions with me and 3 of us did not have towels available for use until the next morning.

The hotel was in a great location, right in the heart of South Beach. From the photos on hotels.com, it looked like the room was nicely decorated. When I arrived at the hotel, its lobby was more like a business office. The room looked like what I saw in the photos, but upon closer inspection, many things in the room were old and worn looking. The bed looked really nice, and the shower had very stylish glass tiles, but the bathroom and kitchenette area had stainless steel trash cans with rust stains, and the floors had marks on them that looked like dirt at first, but seemed to be permanent marks of some sort. The kitchenette area had a very dated looking wooden countertop. The floors/ceilings/walls seemed pretty thin, as I could hear quite a bit of noise from the surrounding rooms, particularly from above. The room had a nice flat screen TV, but it was a bit difficult to work. The room came with free wifi. There is a great Cuban restaurant on the first floor of the hotel called Bistro 1506. I highly recommend it. Overall, this hotel is comfortable and clean and nice enough if you're not too fussy, but it is nothing fancy. The reason to come here is that it is a great value for South Beach. If you want something fancier, stay across the street at one of the beachfront hotels, but for the money, Hotel Eva is a good deal. They could up their rates if they invested in some amenities to make the rooms a little nicer. A clock radio / iPod dock would have been nice.

The room was very large with a lot of amenities and is in the most popular part of town. I will definitely return!
