The Acqua Hotel in Mill Valley California never disappoints.It is convenient to San Francisco and Marin, always feels brand new and has a warm welcoming staff and great snacks.The decor would make a great article in Architectural Digest. The back of the hotel (all rooms open to it) is on a bay and wetlands area. Very soothing. The front is next to the freeway, but I have never been aware of it as they have cleverly buffered the sound.

If our room was a "DELUXE" room, I would hate to see a standard. The room was at the4 end of the hall, beyond the laundry, etc.. where laundry carts were parked ovenight. The room it self was not much larger than a postage stamp and held only 1 chair (no room for a 2nd). Finally, I'm sure the new A/C is a modern marvel, some sort of directions should have been provided. This particular problem, by the way, was not the only hotel in which we encountered this problem on our trip Although located along Hwy 101, the room was very quiet.

We arrived at the hotel at about 3 p.m. and were told they had overbooked and there weren't any rooms available. The desk clerk said the hotel would refund our money and they had booked a room for us (at no charge) at the Holiday Inn Express located on the next exit North on 101. This was totally unacceptable. We had paid the non-cancellable rate and had, in fact, already paid the credit card bill and we were meeting friends at the hotel. In addition, they told us they had a "$10,000" wedding and therefore had no room for us. We asked for the manager, explained our problem and he found a room in a matter of minutes. He was terrific, but the one thing he wasn't truthful about is he said he upgraded us, but in fact, we got the room I had reserved. I will NEVER return to this hotel and I strongly suggest Hotels.com (a website I love and use all the time) take them off their list.

I was delighted with the idea of the hotel before my boyfriend and I arrived. I called a couple days before arriving and spoke with the manager who gave us a free upgrade! What a great way to start a weekend getaway. However, other than that, the hotel was just OK. Nothing really bad about it, but nothing great either. Since we were in a suite, I was expecting great, not average.

Lovely rooms, comfortable beds, gorgeous views, easy on and off the freeway, nice breakfast service as well as always having tea available. Very kind front desk staff. Well worth the money. No noise since I was on the second floor facing the lagoon. Parking can be a challenge when their is an event.

great wine and cheese hour (complementy). The Internet in our room wasn't working and when I called for help they didnt seam to care and said the only thing they could offer me was the Internet in the lobby.

If you were in your room or the front lobby with earplugs in I would say its a great deal for a great hotel. But the noise of the highway ruined our stay. I could not sleep at night because I could hear the trucks zooming down the highway. If you looked to the right out of our door there was a beautiful bay to see, but don't look left or you'll see the highway. Not a good deal for the price.

Great location for this hotel provides easy access to major city from the north. This also made the hotel extremely noisy as we were nearly sleeping on the freeway! Also the room was ghastly hot. It was January, so perhaps some need a bit of heat in the room, but for us it was unbearable. Opening the sliding door did little to relieve the sauna feeling, and only enhanced the noise level. A beautiful hotel, charming staff, excellent proximity to the city, but I wouldn;'t stay again unless I was caught up on my sleep!

No complaints. Rooms are very modern in decor and well-appointed. Wife enjoyed the large, deep tub.

Nice perks of this hotel include free continental breakfast and the wine/cheese reception. Missing is a restaurant in the hotel. There is an option to order room service from third-party restaurants, but the catalog was too much work to navigate. As a traveller, I don't know what restaurant is located where, and yet it recommends that you order from a "close" restaurant to limit delivery expenses.

The hotel was beautiful with extremely friendly and helpful staff and the morning breakfast was wonderful, however, I booked the hotel for my mom, sister, brother and I with the understanding that we would have a junior suite overlooking the water with a king size bed and a queen sofa sleeper. Upon arrival we were given a room with a king size bed and a pull out chair that would have slept a child. Another room was not available so we were given a roll away bed, which was less than comfortable. We were charged an additional $55 for the two extra adults and I do not feel that due to their poor sleeping conditions that this was worth it. Had I been told upon booking that the queen size sofa sleeper did not exist as staff stated I would not have booked the room.
