We actually stayed in a couple places and checked out almost every place in town. Hampton Inn is definitely the best of the chain hotels. One of the most comfortable beds you'll find, service was very good. hotel was clean. […] I was impressed because we were there during their slowest time, probably no more than ten guests in the hotel, and yet the breakfast was laid out like it was their prime-time: some hot foods and the usual array of fruits, cereals, etc. They did not cut any corners even though there were not too many guests. My husband and I stayed at the Southport hotel for a wedding. My preferred chain is Hampton Inn, and this hotel definitely lived up to its reputation. We enjoyed our time immensely, the room was very clean and VERY comfortable!

Hotel was very clean and had amenities such as computer in lobby and internet service in rooms. Room was very clean. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Loved the breakfast and complimentary lemonade, fruit, and fresh baked cookies. Definitely plan to go there again.

When we got there, I knew the hotel was a better one.. But I wasn't prepared for how really nice it was.. I was put on a ground floor, which I can't do stairs. Also, my room was right off from where the pool was.. I was a very clean room and the pool was very nice. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was large. Loved this hotel! Staff incredibly friendly, free internet, deluxe breakfast, microwave and frig in room! Awesome beds and so close to Southport and Oak Island! Plus, great pizza place in the same parking lot so you can walk out and get dinner and go right back to your room!

The hotel was very nice and within 8 minutes of the Bald Head Ferry where I was going. The room was very clean, the check in was easy, and the breakfast had many options. The downsides were that the pillow was too fluffy, the cost was much more than I expected, and there is an extra person fee for anyone over 1 person.

Beds were terrible, Breakfast was average, and hotel overall was plane jane and nothing great to write home about. It's kinda older not too updated and for some reason we smelled cigarette smoke on our floor in the hallway when I believe the hotel was non-smoking. I mean if you need to crash, then o.k. but again didnt really stand out to me.

While we had stayed in the area before, we were disappointed in our room (my husband had an allergy attack each and every night-the sheets and mattress protector would not stay in place in the king room, and the air conditioner was faulty in that it didn't cool enough). I even requested a room change and was given one, but the sneezing continued as […] did the sheets not fitting properly. All in all, not a pleasant experience, athough the staff was most helpful. This hotel had been recently renovated and was nice, clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and clean. The hostess that was running the breakfast was a wonderful conscientious woman who gave us good advice. The omelete was really good! I would recommend this hotel!

Hotel is newer. We had no problems checking in or out. Staff was very courteous. Rooms was very clean and the hotel was quiet. Continental breakfast had good variety. Hotel is close to shopping and restaurants and a few mile drive to the beach.

Everything about this hotel is similar ot other Hamptons, clean and adequate. Not a five star but doesn't pretend to be either. If you are looking for a comfortable and quiet room, this is the place. Located across the parking lot from an excellent Itailian restaurant and conventiet to everything in Oak Island and Southport.

Great location to beaches without staying on the beach. Southport is such a beautiful small coastal town with great shops and restaurants. The staff was very nice.
