Ramada Plaza, Cleveland East - Wickliffe

My family will not stay here again. We had a dirty rag in our bathroom and hairs on the counter when we first got there. I called down to the manager to make sure our room was cleaned and he said "oI will call housekeeping".. No apology, no urgency, nothing. We waited about 20 minutes before we had to leave and no one came . When we left I talked to […] the same manager when I got to the front desk and he asked me what room # again, and then called housekeeping, although I don't think he really called. When we got back our bathroom was cleaned. The overall condition of the room was poor. Thin mattress on king bed, rips in the sofa cushon and stains on the carpet. I'm glad it was a short stay. The hotel is tired. The dining room doesn't even have a sign on it and looks like a dark bar. Front desk staff very good. Room clean but tired. Pool very nice but no towels and area not maintained well, and the "hottub" was ice cold and half empty.

We reserved 2 rooms and paid the same price for both. One room had a fridge and microwave and the other room did not. We went down to the front desk and asked why the other room had nothing and the desk clerk said its like winning the lottery if you get those in your room. But you pay the same price no matter what. Our son had to sleep on the pull out […] sofa in our room and our grand kids slept on the one in our other room. Neither room had the supplies to make those beds up, you have to get them from the front desk. The pool and small exercise room close down at 10. The continental breakfast was a waste of our time. Definitely not a 3-Star hotel it boasts it is, this is just about OK. Nothing much to complain about but nothing much to talk about either. OK rooms, nice bed, horrible breakfast pretty much summed it up for us.

This place was just nasty. There was no other was to describe it. I stayed for one night after a long day of driving & should've kept driving! Hair in the bathroom. Ripped sheets and comforter. Stains on the floor. & the tube TV was just wrong. Don't stay here.

Even under construction for a make over this was still a very nice hotel. Very secure neighnorhood, as well as very reasonable prices. I would recommend this hotel 10 out of 10 times to anyone needin somewhere to stay in the area. I did not like that there wasn't an ice machine on the floor i stayed on but other then that it was a nice stay.

The room was discusting when we got there. Soap scum all over the walls of the tub. And the bed looked just slept in. The desk clerk gave us new sheets to make our own bed to get us by the night. Also promised to have house keeping clean tub the next morning because he said he wouldn't use it either. The next night the tub looked the same way, so the […] night guy went out and bought some tub cleaner and a brush and had to come up and scrub the tub himself because we needed a shower and we weren't going to use it the way it was. continental breakfast not that good either. From the outside the hotel looks good. The lobby is typical but the rooms are in need of a good updating. The TV was an old tube type and the picture quality showed. The mattress while soft I would not want to spend many nights sleeping there. Also, I typically take the stairs in low rise hotels, especially since my room was closer to the stairs than […] the elevator. Our stay was terrible, first sent us to a room that had not been cleaned (which can happen) but they never even apologized just gave us a different room. The next room was dirty. Mold on curtains, food on floor, trash in couch, dirt in shower vent. We even took pictures. Also the pool was closed for maintence, i just wish they would have emailed us […] to let us know.In retrospect we should have left and not spent the night, When we checked out they never even asked how our stay was, when i told them the guy never even apolozed or offered to make anything right. that was most dissappointing. The staff was great, the room was comfortable and clean. The continental breakfast was a disappointment. The room was dimly lit and cold. Plus it was far from the rooms and seemed secluded and isolated. Maybe a station could have been set up in the hallway leading to that room? I would stay there again because of the pluses.

Walking into the lobby, everything looked pretty nice. Got to the room and at first look, it seemed ok. Then we noticed the mold on the ceiling and in the shower, as well as stains on the walls and lamps. TV reception was fuzzy at best and there was a thick layer of dust on top of it. Went down to the pool and the hot tub was not working. Hallway carpets […] need to be replaced and the elevator button (down) did not work, so you had to hit the up button the call the elevator. I believe that the amentities say Hot breakfast. The coffee was the only thing that was hot. Cold cereal, bread, smallest bagels I have ever seen. I had to go and get breakfast when I checked out. This hotel is in need of some work. The room was clean however, the linen in the room wasn't but the front desk person was more than willing to provide us with more. While this hotel advertises full breakfast, it barely makes the mark for continental. Cereal, yogurt, and boiled eggs do not constitute a full breakfast.

Building was dirty. Carpets badly stained. Restaurant was really a loud pub located at far end of building. Advertised 3 miles from Cleveland Clinic, really 10. I wouldn't stay there again!

Frankly I was surprised a hotel in this condition carries the name of Ramada. I was also surprised Expedia ranked it three starts. Even 2.5 stars is a stretch. The location was good, close to the things we had planned to do on our trip. The pool was very nice and the sauna room was clean and comfortable. However, the wallpaper boarder in our room was peeling. We had 2 washcloths and 1 towel that were completely ripped/shredded.
