Hotel was just fine, clean efficient, quite etc, but was not in a great location, and that rather jaundiced our view of Philadelphia. Felt reasonably safe in the environs, but it was a bit of a trek to either the station or the historical parts. Suggest that you try to get further south - unless of course you especially want to be near the wonderful Reading Terminal Market which is next door.

Great hotel in a very busy, centrally located area. We were readily able to walk to the market and visit historic areas. The rooms were surprisingly large and plush, given the reasonable price. We were initially given a room that smelled strongly of smoke, but the management quickly exchanged it for a new room. There is a pool, but it's tiny.

It's a nice hotel, but nothing special. You won't be impressed at all with the amenities unless you've stayed at enough horrible hotels to be surprised that your room is actually clean with no broken appliances. The price you pay is for location, next door to the awesome Reading Terminal Market and convenient walking distance to everything (Chinatown, Independence Park, Walnut Street). My only real objection is that there is no hotel parking; you have to pay to park at the unrelated lot that shares the same building as the hotel (parking lot = floors 2-6, hotel = floors 1 and 7-12). The rates for parking are completely insane and the hotel doesn't validate. My recommendation is that you could probably shop price and get a better deal for a hotel elsewhere downtown, but you won't be upset if you do wind up staying here.

This hotel is located steps away from most of the historical city sites, as well as shopping and public transportation, and it is right next door to the indoor market which is fantastic! But, the neighborhood itself is pretty seedy. The rooms were advertised to be recently remodeled, but I wonder in what year, and the corridors were noisy at night. Despite this, and because of location alone, this hotel was a find.

The hotel was nice but it was way overpriced. Though it is in the heart of downtown Philly, the local night life adjacent to the hotel when we stayd felt very unsafe. There were homeless and beggars hanging outside of the lobby all night - not sure if that is a daily thing or just random. The locaion was a little hard too find while driving, had to drive around a few times to find it (the entrance to the etire hotel is the size of small cornershop convieniance store). The location though is extremely convieniant to everything (next to chinatown, and a huge farmers market directly next to the hotel). Though the hotel does not provide complimentary breakfast, go to the farmers market -- huge variety of food and it is right overpriced liked everything else, but the great thing is that you could go in and out as much as you please.

This hotel was very convenient for us, as we caught one of the Chinatown buses from Washington DC which dropped us off right across the street. We also appreciated having a laundromat in the hotel. We had some very noisy neighbors down the hall, but security did a good job of getting them to quiet down. The one thing that deserves mention, was when my wife looked for small detergent packs from the gift store and couldn't find any, the hotel manager heard about it, and personally bought us a container from a nearby CVS store and gave it to my wife for her to use. Wow! That's service!
