The ocean view is good, across the PC highway. Would probably save some money and stay either on the North Or South side.

The hotel staff was a perfect example that Customer Service DOES still exist! Great location and the shuttle was perfect to take you in to Carlsbad so you can walk around and enjoy the bars and restaurants and not worry about driving.

Overall a good experience and a great location. Heated pool was amazing. Beds were so comfortable and clean. Perfect location to get to places such as Legoland and catching the freeway to go to other beaches. It's on the beach, but very far down a cliff. I originally thought it would be easy to walk down, but it wasn't a kid friendly beach area

Right on the Ocean but about a mile from Carsbad Town Center. Free shuttle bus there and elsewhere in area. For the life of me I can't figure out what Hilton Garden Inns in general don't offer that a "full service" Hilton does. This hotel had a restaurant AND room service. THe hospitality was beyond superb! It was by far the best hotel we have ever stayed at, and we travel alot all over the states. Our trip had a lot of bumps in it, but when I got to your hotel, the staff turned it around for us:) we will definitely refer people and will always stay there if we come back.

This hotel is very well run. The rooms are clean. Beds are firm. It is very kid friendly. Directly across the street from the beach. Close to good restaurants. Staff is friendly and knowledgable. Breakfast buffet is excellent and a good deal too. I would stay here again and recommend that anyone stay here. You'll be happy you did.

It is a nice hotel with friendly staff. Our first room on the 3rd floor was very noisy because of the continuous ventilation in the bathroom. An engineer came to check it at night. He told there was nothing he could do since that ventilation was for the whole hotel. Had a fantastic stay at Hilton GI. Comfortable and clean. Rooms were nicely sized especially for the price. Plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 kids. Very accomodating front desk staff. We would spend our entire stay there next time rather than stay in SD for zoo/Sea World and just deal with the 30-45 min drive.

We went to the hotel happy hour even though margaritas were not on special the bartender made it one. Which was very nice since the margaritas were delicious and when there 5 bucks even nicer.

We thought this hotel was very good value for money. The grounds are spacious and the beach is 50 yards from the front entrance, right across the road. There is also a spacious pool and hot tub in the garden. The breakfast buffet was also plentiful and well done.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the beach. We tried their breakfast buffet which is more of a wait in a long line for 15 minutes to order from only one cook on duty, then wait at the counter for another 15 minutes to have him cook yours and 20 other orders. A typical Hilton Garden Inn located just south of downtown Carlsbad. The beach is a short walk across the road and I-5 is 1/4 mile away but for everything else you'll need a car.

This hotel was conveniently located and relatively comfortable, however I would not choose it again. My husband and I enjoy small children, but this place was overrun with them. Screaming in neighboring room in the middle of the night was a bit annoying. We ate breakfast once there and the oatmeal was cold, fruit too ripe to eat and english muffins […] were stale. The eggs, bacon and potatoes were good. Partial ocean view means that the ocean is across a 4 lane boulevard and down a cliff, so we were unable to see it from the room window. Each morning the coffee service was empty by 9am, so if you sleep in, you will be without coffee. This hotel seems intended for families with small children going to Legoland. In the future, I would choose a hotel in the city center of Carlsbad or Oceanside so we could walk to restaurants and the beach. Read more

This was our first trip to the Hilton Garden Inn. We were there to treat our Grandson to a day at Legoland. We were very happy with our stay, start to finish. Great value. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were professional and personable. Dinner at the Beach Bistro was quite good. This is a Motel 6; the room was small, not comfortable at all. The bedding was so cheap you could see the mattress cover, didn't even have a real comforter. The pictures were nice, but the actual hotel was not. Will not ever stay here again!!! We actually checked out after one night and stayed at a nicer hotel.

I was joining friends visiting from out of state and worried when I found how close the hotel was to the Amtrak line. I am a very light sleeper and specified in my online reservation that I wanted as quiet a room as possible - away from the elevator, ice machine and train. What a pleasantly quiet room! The staff was terrific, and things like free shuttles […] to provide round trip transport, the lovely decorations and lobby fireplace made it really nice. My only complaint was that they boasted (on the bed itself) the sort of sleep comfort dial system for the mattress. It was extremely hard and that dial gizmo did nothing, the same experience that my friends had in their room as well with both of their beds. I would have preferred a normal hotel mattress that didn't feel like a platform of plywood with a 2" pad of that memory foam stuff. However, massive air conditioning unit right outside the window made it impossible to hear the sounds from the ocean that would have added to the attraction of the view.
