Safe metro sation in front of hotel. There was always a metro worker inside station to help you. Gives you easy access to entire city. Buffet breakfast was $15 and good.

Close to White House and other major sites. Staff was extremely friendly. Only parking was valet under the hotel at $38/day, but that seemed to be the going rate in the area. Right across the street from the metro which was very convenient. Rooms were very nice - it was an excellent value.

The location was AMAZING -- right across the street from a Metro stop and 5 guys burgers, 2 blocks from the White House, easy walk to the Mall. Perfect for family/kids doing tourism. Very clean and comfy room. Very friendly and helpful staff. No complaints at all.

Very nice, clean hotel located in a great spot. Liked that the fitness room was open 24 hours. The restaurant downstairs (Grist Mill) was also very nice and service was great there.

Great location across the street from McPherson Sq subway entrance, not far from the Washington Mall. Room was comfortable and quiet. The little snack stand/gift shop in the lobby is pretty limited but because the front desk folks act as the cashiers it's open 24 hours, which was convenient as I needed meds and gatorade to get me and my stomach virus […] through the night (not contracted at the hotel, I hasten to note - and neither is it their fault that the hotel restaurant's dinner did not stay down, the apple cobbler was very tasty and the service was friendly). If I'd been feeling better I would have made use of the excellent sandwiches at Pret a Manger just across the street; a CVS pharmacy nearby is always a plus even when healthy when you can't sneak your toiletries past the TSA. Wired and wireless IP access in the room was free - rather slow but not unusuably so. All in all a comfortable place to spend an otherwise miserable trip, would definitely stay again. Read more

Really nice hotel. Super convenient (across the street from the nearest subway station), and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The room is clean and fully furnished. Wonderful experience. Four night stay to visit Washington DC. Location is perfect for not having to have a car or even call for a taxi. It is right across the street from the Metro stop - we walked to the White House and to a different great place to eat every night. Food at hotel was great for all our morning meals. Lobby always stocked with apples, […] cookies, hot cider and coffee and each night the candles buring in the lobby was so homey. Staff was great with directions and suggestions for dinner. VERY CLEAN everywhere in the hotel. Kids loved the pool each night and the adults loved the comfortable bar and sitting areas around the fireplace in the nicely decorated areas beside the lobby. Liqour store and CVS very close as well as quick meal places. Beds and pillows are comfortable. I selected the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown DC because of it's proximity to the White House and the cost. However, the SERVICE was what was just unbelieveable! Raquel at the front desk made everything easy and special, always asking if we needed reservations somewhere or directions to anything. The concierge personnel couldn't have been more gracious […] no matter which one was on duty. Coffee and hot drinks in the lobby in the morning; cookies and hot chocolate later in the afternoon; apples all day. This hotel will always be my go-to choice for DC trips. Billed as "view of city" was actually the courtyard housing the a/c units and view into other rooms and offices. But I have stayed here before where I had a street view and that was great. The restaurant is much improved from last stay. Nice hotel, close to Metro and amenities. Walkable to Mall although quite a hike.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. I was invited to an event at the last minute and needed to purchase a dress. The staff told me the location of the nearest department store and before I could get to the end of the block a member of the front desk staff ran out to give me coupons from the newspaper to use at the store! Across the street from the Metro, which we took in from the closest Metro station from CT, so it was perfect to meet our daughter coming in from the other side of the city. Perfect walking distance to the Mall, great restaurants in the neighborhood, and the staff was delightful. Will stay there again.
