The hotel was very nice. My husband and I came to town for 1 night to attend a close friends surprise party. We arrived and were at a crunch for time after traveling 6 hours. Literally 50 feet from King Street Metro Station. Free trolley runs to and from waterfront through 180, mostly quaint Old Town shops and restaurants. Great for a casual stroll yet only 20 minutes from the heart of DC via Metro. Spacious, smarty decorated room and bath. Daily internet fee only annoyance

We enjoyed our stay except the pool was out of order. They did have an option to go across the street to another hotel & use their pool, which we did. However, it was just not convient with cold, little children.

I found this hotel to be very comfortable and convenient. The room was very clean, had all the amenities I like. The hotel was located across from a metro station, which we used to go into downtown DC during the day. When I entered the parking deck it was under construction, and parking was confusing as the deck is shared and the Hilton has reserved spots that were closed. That's not a big problem since it happens. but the management did a terrible job with signage telling us where to park. They put a sign on an elevator that said, "Walkway to Hilton Elevators" […] so I, naturally, took that elevator up and wound up in a different hotel! When I reported it the staff was blase, and told me I could get to my car by using the elevator in the Hilton and walking to find my car. However, I took the elevator to the 3rd level, the door opened and it was blocked by emergency tape and a plastic tarp. I had to go up to the second level, find another elevator, then go back down to get my car. The room was not much better, with the tub drain not sealing so no bath, the batteries weak in the remote control, instructions for the Internet in the guest book incorrect, and a maid's cart blocking my door when I got back from breakfast. The Hilton Alexandria COULD be wonderful as it's in a great location and is nicely built, but my experience was not. Read more

Hotel is within a few hundred yards of the metro train track and is not very good from a noise standpoint. Otherwise it was a good facility except for the construction in the parking lot.

The metro is across the street from the hotel. There's also a free Trolly that runs up and down King Street. I enjoyed walking down King Street visiting the shops, restaurants and the many historical sites. The hotel was clean and comfortable. There's a Starbucks in the lobby which I enjoy. Hotel is 1/2 block from the old town Alexandria Metro stop but we never heard the trains! I especially appreciated the care the clerk took for our security; we arrived very late, and there were other people standing near the desk, so he did not announce our room number, but wrote it inside the little folder with our key, and quietly directed us to the […] elevator. There is a coffee shop and restaurant on site (but no continental breakfast as the other Hilton has) We were one block from the free trolley, so sight-seeing was simply wonderful! The beds are VERY comfortable! The price was great, too, as we booked our airfare and room together and saved a lot. We did not log in to the net from our stay. It was 14 bucks per device per day. We walked to Starbucks instead. If Hampton Inn can provide free and secure internet, why can't Hilton. The room was clean and very comfortable. I would stay somewhere else, though.
