We had an amazing time during our stay in Lido. Just outside of Venice without all the crowded tiny streets, this place is perfect. Its a short and easy boat ride to get over to Venice from Lido, plus there is a gorgeous beach on the east side of the island. Classic old hotel in a very nice area. Beautiful breakfast room with good buffet. Only complaint was the AC didn't work, but all we needed to do was open window. Very clean and good value. We would definitely stay again. We loved the hotel and our room.

not a bad place to stay. didn't like being on the 4th floor with the air conditioning shut off for the winter. We opened the window and got some ventilation. was a nice hotel. Beautiful interior since it was older but in good condition. excellent staff. free parking. getting onto lido cost 52 Euro roundtrip and we got off and on the island by vaporettos […] pretty easily. only a twenty minute ride on the ferry. ferry was easy on and off. larger vehicles will need to be on the main level of the ferry. little cars can be on the upper levels. most of our eating out was done near S. Marco piazza on the main island but there are restaurants and gelato that we ate was on \lido. good place for the price. Read more

Not as descibed on expedia website for booking. Not convenient to the center of Venice. You must take a Ferry boat at 47.50 Eu for car and 4 passengers. They don't tell you unless you ask for a return trip ticket. So another 47.50 to get off island. The boat takes 30 minutes and runs every hour. Small boat so if you don't make the first you will have […] to wait another hour for next. Ferry starts at 6:00 am. Not conducive if you have early flights out of Venice. Hotel was very dated. Breakfast buffet was decent and staff was helpful to find us another room off the island for the next night. It was impossible to stay there with our flights leaving early the next day. I am dissapointed that description of proximity and accessibility was inaccurate when I booked. It ended up costing me 200 eu. because I couldn't cancel the 2nd night. I would not recommend this hotel or the Island of Lido for anyone vacationing. wifi is only free for 20 minutes and they must give you a code that changes with each person accessing. Not convenient when you are looking for another place to stay. Horrible way to end our vacation in Italy. I didn't take photos because I didn't want the poor memory after I first 10 days in Italy were exceptional. Read more

We loved everything about this hotel. My wife and I used to live in Venice years ago, and this was our first time back together with our 4year old daughter. Venice proper is difficult with a young child, but staying at the Lido works great, especially since we were at such a lovely hotel (whith a pink room!) and close to both the beach and vaporetto […] stop. The breakfast was good with a nice selection of fruits, yoghurt and anything else you might like. The bar was fantastic for a spritz before going out for dinner. We also did have dinner at the hotel one night and it was very good, our daughter especially loved the grilled salmon. We highly recommend this hotel if you don't have to stay in Venice proper, and even if your main reason for going here is strolling around Venice itself, it's only a matter of 10 minutes on the vaporetto to get there. Nice. Plenty of room. No private beach just for the hotel. There is an area of the beach that is roped off that you pay extra to sit in but everywhere around is public. Have to pay for towels too.

We stayed in this hotel for one night during our honeymoon. The hotel staff was extremely knowledgable and friendly and provided us with complimentary Prosecco and snacks. The room was comfortable and pretty and the hotel is conveniently located. The breakfast was delicious. We would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed in this hotel for 1 night and the staff's service was excellent. We need to check out of the hotel by 3am in the morning and they prepared us box breakfasts to eat on our way to the airport. They also gave us free WiFi to use. The staff were very polite and took care of us well. However, the hotel is a bit old. The room that we stayed in was […] clean and newly remodeled. However, the air temperature control didn't work and the heater just wouldn't shut down thus making the room hot. We had to open some windows to get some cool air in. Also, there seem to be a problem with their water pump. We lived in the 4th floor and the cold water coming out of the shower is sporadic. The water pressure will cycle from very strong to nothing in a predictable 30 second interval. This causes the water temperature to vary from very hot to very cold. Since we are only staying for about 8 hours in the hotel and we already unpacked everything before noticing the shower and the heater problem, we didn't notified the staff. I'm sure that they would switch us to another room if we request. Read more

When we arrived in Venice 5 hours before our check in the staff held our bags and allowed us to explore the neighborhood. They even let us check in 2 hours before our check in and took our bags to our room! On top of that the food in the morning was pretty good! That is not even the best part... we ended up sitting down at the bar to have a drink, after […] walking 28miles in Venice. The bartender is simply amazing and treated us not like tourist but, like a normal couple. We were having such a great time we didn't realize that a few other guest in the hotel came down to join in the conversations and have a good time. Even the manager came down to talk with all of us. Overall the experience was amazing and they even gave us a heads up that they are planning on remodeling the outside of the hotel to incorporate more of a sit down/cafe/bar experience. We were looking for a place on Lido Island where our son was staying. Keep in mind that Lido is the farthest island from the Grand Canal if you are choosing a hotel. We booked into room 120, furnishing very poor, like a boarding school, bare room, quite depressing. Had to pay to upgrade to room 210, much better, however, window blind fallen off, plug socket not working, marks on walls, wardrobe wouldn't shut properly, handles fallen off drawers on cupboards, shower flooded bathroom every time you used it due to […] seal missing at bottom of doors, light bulb not working in bathroom. we reported these and they did their best to fix but didn't make it. Just returned from spending 5 nights at Grande Albergo Ausonia & Hungaria, it was great with the Staff so very helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Was doubting if the breakfast would be good after reading some previous comments but it was very good with hot and cold food offered and again breakfast staff very polite. Decor was a little dated but the room was more than adequate and the overall pleasantness of staff more than made up for that negative comment of room.
