"A little difficult to find, but worth the search"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Slightly difficult to find at first, but nicely updated and clean. Was very surprised that the kitchen was clean - you can just never be sure about public kitchens, but all of the appliances and surfaces throughout the room were clean. Hotel location is decent (obviously depends on what you are visiting for), but be mindful that it is on an airplane path (for Reagan) - its completely silent at night, but in full action starting at 6-7am.

Downtown DC is awash with culture. The Smithsonian Institution museum complex flanks the National Mall. The Washington Monument bisects the Mall, just south of the White House. Federal agency headquarters house bureaucrats of varying stripes. Moneyed and powerful lobbyists help create (and quash) laws from K Street. Chinatown and the Washington Convention Center lie east of downtown.

"Great hotel close to everything1"
This hotel was great for our family. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The indoor pool was a little small but worked out fine for the kids. Overall, great place to stay!!!
Room is extremely small and was a little disappointed that our reserved room with 1 king sized bed was not available upon check-in.
"Four Points in Washington DC"
This is our second visit in 4 years...we love the hotel and staff! We will stay here again in the future!
"Smelly room and unpleasant staff"
Staff were rude when we checked in - very sarcastic and nasty. The room stank of febreeze, whereas the closet stank of dirty clothes or wet dog or something. Windows did not open so there was no way to air the room. We called to request a different room and again staff were unpleasant and we were told it was not possible. We tried to stay out of the […] room as much as possible and ended up leaving a day early. Avoid this hotel! Read more
"very nice"
very nice stay. would definitely stay there again.
"Sheraton-dc"
Hotel was in a great location my family was able to walk to all the monuments.. The only negative was that the shower head was broken and you could see a whole on the wall.
"4 points by Sheraton downtown DC"
Comfortable mattresses, pleasing linens,, nice size room & outstanding personnel. We enjoyed the rooftop pool & will look for a Sheraton next time we travel. The Doubletree Suites by Hilton at 47th& 7th Ave in NYC was a disappointment after our stay at the Four Points

"Nice but not perfect"
Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful, beds were comfortable and room was clean. My only complaints were that the fluorescent light in my room buzzed(solved by turning it off) and there was no TV guide available. Minor stuff.

"Loved This Hotel-Will Definitely Stay Here Again!"
I am very picky about hotels. The first thing that I look at are the bathrooms and the cleanliness of the room. Both passed with flying colors! The rooms were modern and clean. The hotel was a perfect location to walk to the White House and other attractions. It was close to stores (Macys, H&M, souvenir store and more)and other conveniences such as […] restaurants (if you're a coffee drinker there were at least 4 Starbucks within walking distance). My cell phone charger broke and there was an AT&T store in walking distance where I bought another charger. My only minor complaint would be that the hotel clerk didn't appear to be too helpful or empathetic when I told her that my phone charger was broken. The concierge had suggested to me that I check with the clerk to see if they had a charger for my iphone because the hotel usually had some chargers on hand but the clerk just said no they didnt have the charger I needed and didn't bother to offer suggestions on what I could do (like go to the At&t store). Other than that minor complaint, all else was perfect. Read more
Thank you for sharing your comments. I am pleased you found so much to your liking. I appreciate hearing about the issue with the phone charger. This is not our typical guest response to a question so I will follow up personally to ensure this is not repeated.

"Big disappointment"
This hotel was a huge disappointment. I enjoyed very little about my stay. When I arrived the hotel systems were down which delayed the check-in process. The individuals at the front desk were mocking their co-worker as she helped me; it was incredibly unprofessional. The room was incredibly tiny and there were almost no convienient outlets to charge […] cell phone, laptop, etc. The clocks in the room weren't set to the correct time (they were off by about 45 minutes) The TV channel selection was very limited. The wifi connection was near dial-up speeds. The walls were paper thin causing you to hear every time someone merely walked by your door. The water pressure in the shower went up and down, up and down. The breakfast I had delivered to my room was unappetizing and cold. I was overall very disappointed. It was one of the least enjoyable stays I've ever had at a Sheraton. Don't stay here. It's not worth the money. Read more
My room was small but cozy. The layout of the second floor I was on was a bit weird (same floor as the hotel restaurant and gym but there was no noise to speak of). Quiet and peaceful. The parking fee was more than any other hotel I've stayed in recently. I would seriously consider parking off site just to save a few bucks. I will definitely stay here […] again. Read more
"Good location, decent price, OK room"
I stayed for only 1 night and just needed a decent room at a location near the conference that I was attending. The 4 Points Sheraton fit the bill just fine, especially since I didn't need to be in my room for very long. Front desk attendants were friendly and helpful. The room itself was just OK; it had a musty smell, and there was warped wallpaper/siding […] in the bathroom. But for the price I paid and the location it was perfectly acceptable. I would stay there again if I had similar needs (i.e. a trip where location and price were more important than room quality). Read more

"Ain't worth it"
Called the hotel a day before made a reservation and asked: Do you have a working pool? Answer YES. The next day when I checked in the answer was: Pool is not working and has not been working. We were told it will be working the first night we checked in (the heater broke). On the 4th day when we checked out it still did not work. Did not get any points […] towards Starwood Preferred Network either although Hotel Rate was the same as Hotels.com Rooms were small. Dust everywhere (on lamps, bed railings, in a closet). Parking it outrageously expensive (no cheaper parking near by). A lot of homeless across the street in the park. Wireless signal was very poor. Overall == not satisfied at all. We don't recommend. "Cold"
The room was cold, heat would not come on, but too busy for repairs, LOL.
"Sheraton Four Points Sheraton"
Entire staff was friendly and acted quickly on requests. Desk staff was thorough in telling me about amenities. I enjoyed great customer service in an age where this is disappearing.Location was great. Minor annoyances: ice machine on floor was broken, pool was closed for maintenance (although there was an alternative to go to a pool two blocks away), […] and temperature in room was difficult to regulate. "4 Points Sharaton Downtown DC - clean, friendly"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff was very friendly, rooms were very clean, and restaurant food was good and ample. We were a reasonable walk to many D.C. museums and activities.
HOTEL WAS FINE. RATES EXPENSIVE. FEE FOR OVERNIGHT PARKING PER NIGHT WAS RIDICULOUS IN SPITE OF HIGH ROOM RATE, NO COMPLEMENTARY BREAKFAST INCLUDED
"Weekend in DC"
This hotel has a good location. Although the parking garage was full, we found parking around the corner and there is no meter charge after 3pm on Saturday or the entire day or Sunday. There are plenty of restaurants in the area. We didn't spend that much time at the hotel, but the room and accommodations fit our needs well.

"Noisy hotel"
The room windows do not block out street noises at all. My room was on the 7th floor facing a busy street. I can hear all the cars and buses that go by especially early in the morning.
"Sheratons - 4 Points -- on K & 12th"
I enjoyed my stay and the proximity of the hotel to all the sites was outstanding!
We spent 6 days at DC with our 2 kids – ages 7 and 3 at this hotel. Pros: - very convenient to everything; you can walk, drive or take bus without paying the price of being really close to the mall - very clean and comfy (though it was a tight fit for the 4 of us with all the bags, stroller etc.) - plenty of good restaurants around Cons: - pool is old […] and dirty - even though it shows kitchenette sign in the specs of the hotel you have to pay $15 each for the fridge and the microwave (the fridge wasn’t working – it froze my kids’ OJ into solid block!). There is NO kitchenette beyond these two appliances – no sink, utensils or anything else! The sign was totally misleading! - it’s noisy (the walls are fine, but you can hear EVERYTHING through the doors) and during the weekend nights there were lots of parties on our floor (some lasted well into the early morning hours) - the restaurant in the hotel serves decent food sometimes, but the service is atrocious. I took the same dish twice (chowder) on the first and last night and it tasted and looked completely different. It’s also very expensive, so use it as a last resort - the reception desk is like a lottery – you can get somebody very helpful and nice or you can get Sonya who looked so sour and resentful every time I spoke to her as if my very presence offended her! If you are there and you need help – wait for someone else! - If you need more than the standard 3 sets of towels (like us) prepare yourself for the daily schlep to the reception to get an extra – in 5 days we stayed there they never placed the correct number - If you are staying during weekend get ready to search for breakfast as everything is closed (though McDonalds and Cosi saved the day) Read more

"Good place to stay in D.C."
I checked in for 4 days and I have no serious complaints about this place. It's on a good spot, pretty close to the museums and momuments, but also close to a few really nice restaurants. The staff were helpful and helped me with my requests. The room was clean overall, just a couple of spots in the bathroom. Overall I would recommend this place to […] a family or a person traveling alone, like myself. Read more
"Good Place to Stay"
Overall the hotel was nice and clean, and in a great location. But everything comes with pros and cons. the room was a little smaller than I expected but it was comfortable for my husband and I. If you have children the room will seem small. The service was great and the breakfast food was amazing!!! We did not eat lunch or dinner so I can not speak […] on the quality. Read more
Great hotel, staff was nice and helpful. highly recommended.
"Great price and close walking distance!"
We had a great time and the hotel staff made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. The location is near all the sites worth visting.

"Four Points Hotel in Washington DC - Perfect"
Central Location for sight seeing in DC, very friendly and helpful staff, very clean rooms, close to restaurants. Will definately stay here our next visit.
"Four Points DC - Excellent accomodations"
The hotel was very well located and appointed. The room was large and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Price was great, except for expensive valet parking ($38/day seems steep). I would stay again but would look around for other parking.
"Four Points by Sheraton"
The room was very nice and clean. The employees were great. The beds were excellent and very comfortable. The pool was small but decent. It is a great place for people traveling with family/kids. It was close to alot of cheap places to eat. McDonalds Subway and PotBelly. There was also a gourmet deli nearby. It was also very close to the White House […] and lots of public transportation. The neighborhood was great. The room service is very pricey so if your on a budget eat out. Read more
"Four Points by Sheraton Washington D.C. Downtown"
Nice hotel not so far from the see-sights _ considering nothing is "close to" in DC :o) _ but AC was reallyyyy noisy.
"Overall Comments"
About a 10 minute walk to the museums. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food in hotel was good. Free wireless which was very strong. Was able to steam movies on my computer. Kids loved the pool.
"Sheraton DC"
Excellent hotel, great location
"Clean, comfortable, convenient"
I was very happy with my stay here. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and cozy, and the hotel is conveniently located just a few blocks from the main DC attractions. There's really nothing special about the hotel itself, but it's a solid mid-range place to stay in DC.
"Perfect location for business or pleasure!"
Just a few blocks from the White House and surrounded by restaurants. The bed wad very comfortable, room clean and entire staff very helpful. There wasn't another hotel this close to the WH at this price, I'd definitely come back at this level of quality affordability!

"Parking"
The hotel was great. The employees were very helpful and friendly. The drawback? No one told us it would be extra to park in the hotel parking lot for two days. We should have been told up front about the parking charge! I have never heard of having to pay to park at a place that you already paid to sleep at. I would never take another vacation to […] Washington DC! Read more
"Overall OK"
The accommodation was fine, but nothing extraordinary. This hotel is expensive for not having complementary breakfast, especially since there aren't too many healthy restaurant options around.

"Four Points in Washington DC - Independence Day"
Our stay was over the July 4th weekend. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was enjoyable. We would not hesitate to stay here again. It was a pleasant place to return to after a long, hot summer's day.
