"Good value"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Value proposition is good for the purpose of the visit.
"Really nice place to stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
I was very happy on how nice the hotel was. Everything exceeded my expectations. It's not like the Ritz, but it was a wonderful experience. I would definitely stay there again!
"great for business travler"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
Very anticeptic - strictly business. Kind of out of the way, not within walking distance of anything. New - everything works - food at hotel fair. Go here if you are on business, not for entertainment. It is perfect for getting stuff done without distractions.

"One night in Calgary"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 30, 2012
Over all it was good. Since i was there for a n=oone night stay the area was not an issue, if i was there longer i would like to have been in a different area, but i felt the area to be safe, and that is what really counts

Great place to stay, would definitely come again.

"Not even close"
The bathroom looked like a hostel. mold in bathroom, HomeDepot hardware and fixtures, Caulking around tile instead of grout, basically third world type repairs and materials in the room. Seriously, Im pretty easy going as far as this stuff goes, but it was not even on the same planet as a 3 or 4 star joint, not even close... The lobby was amazing, the […] bar was kind of classic and wore its age great.. the staff was really great, but those rooms were totally disgusting. Read more

"The Fairmont Palliser is a lovely hotel."
It has a wonderful atmosphere, harkening back to the days when travel was more leisurely, usually by train. It is connected to the Telus Convention center by the city's overhead walkway system, but unfortunately it does not go much beyond that. Fortunately, it can be accessed again a few blocks up the street, which is handly. The staff are very helpful […] and courteous, and the food is generally good. I would stay there again. Read more

"Palliser Hotel Experience"
We came for wedding night and when we booked we where told we'd have a 4 star room and a gicuzie tub. When we got their we were told our room had just gone to the last people to come in. When we got to our room it was very disappointing, our room was very small and the tub was smaller than our standard size tub at home. I went down to the front desk […] to see what they could do about it. I was down there for 15 minutes on my wedding night trying to get the hotel staff to do something for me. I finally suggested they upgrade my room and add a complimentary breakfast. To which they complied, however it cost me precious time with my new bride. I'm not sure if we will ever be back. Read more
"Best Hotel"
My job has taken me from the U.S. to Canada, Brazil, Europe, and North Africa and this hotel has the best overall combination of service and facilities. I won't stay in Calgary unless it's the Palliser.
The Fairmont Palliser is an elegant hotel. Parking, however, can be expensive.
Large room. Staff were very helpful. Located in the heart of downtown near the Calgary tower.
BREAKFAST WAS VERY POOR AND EXPENSIVE AS WAS THE PARKING. THE STAFF WERE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL.
"The Fairmont Palliser, Calgary, Alberta"
The hotel is historical and close to downtown attractions, restaurants and shopping. Parts of the Palliser, including the lobby and pool area are beautiful. The room, while comfortable, was small and the carpeting was filthy. The bathroom was nice and big. The hotel staff was all very nice and helpful. The cost of parking was also reasonably priced […] and next door to the hotel. Overall, our stay at the Palliser was a positive experience. Read more
"Deceiving"
The Fairmont Palliser, from its website and virtual tour, looks gorgeous; however, though the hotel is beautiful in its own right, the overall experience is disappointing. The pool is smaller than it appears from the description—it’s basically just another hotel pool and hot tub. Internet costs $15 a day, while it’s free in lower-class hotels (such […] as Super 8). We had to pay for any outgoing calls we made from the room, even local ones. The bar is overpriced and lacks atmosphere and a decent selection (I believe a hamburger was $18 and a alleged quality microbrew $7). The serving staff was rude and inattentive. The hotel is located, according to the concierge, over a mile away from the “worthwhile” shopping and dining areas of Calgary (not within walking distance for most groups). When we asked him for interesting stops closer to the hotel, he had only one unoriginal suggestion. On the other hand, the rooms are very clean and comfortable and the housekeeping staff cordial and prompt with service. We were not appalled with our visit, but, next time, we would look for other places to stay. Read more
"The Palliser was amazing"
This hotel was right in the heart of downtown Calgary. It had a beautiful reception hall and dining area. We loved the indoor pool and hot tub. No complaints, this place was perfect!

"Last Night on Canadian Vacation"
We had been to Vancouver, Victoria, Banff and Lake Louise. We traveled the Roacky Mountaineer train from Vancouver to Banff. After 4 days in Banff and Lake Louise, we drove to Calgary to spend one night before flying home. The hotel was stately but perhaps a little dated or staid. Perhaps is was a slight letdown after 3 nights in the fabulous Fairmont […] Chateau Lake Louise overlooking the lake! The room was very clean and very spacious plus well appointed. The king bed was very comfortable. We had nice bathrobes also. Only 2 complaints. There is no room to stop and check-in. The hotel front door is on a main street with no pullout. There is a self-park garage on the one-way street just past the hotel and it has a walkway into the hotel. We didn't know this before hand, however. We also initially left the window open for some of the fresh, cool early fall air only to be startled when a Canadian Pacific train roared past directly below our open window! Ask for a room on the front (preferably) or side (as a minimum). Don't stay in a rear facing room unless you love the sound of trains several times a night! Overall, however, a good stay & excellent bargain; just a few minor issues. Read more

"A great hotel for a good price."
One of the best and luxurious hotels I have experienced. I loved the service, unique designed hotel. It is located in the heart of downtown which is really good for those in business but i would better stay away from the traffic area.

"Nice hotel"
Hotel was nice but the rooms are not sound proof. We got lot of noise from the adjacent room
"Good location"
This hotel is in a great downtown location, staff are professional and allowed us to check-in early. The parking is not included in the rate, however, so plan on an extra $15+ daily. Despite some reviews about the age of the hotel and how the rooms could use some updating, we loved the high ceilings of the room and the moldings/decor added to the c […] harm. Read more
"The hotel in Calgary"
Very good location downtown, close to everything
"Fairmont Palliser"
My stay was pleasant enough. The hotel staff was very helpful and courteous. However, everything was extra and expensive. The breakfast bar was incredibly expensive, more than I normally pay for dinner. They even charge for just coffee or tea in the morning. Internet service was not free and also very expensive. They charged extra for each night. They […] don't have their own airport shuttle but call someone who charges for the service. The room was small and needed to be updated. The tub was worn out and they had a shower curtain rather than glass doors. The sink and vanity were also dated. Read more

"Fairmont Palliser Calgary"
Staff was very kind and helpful, I felt welcome and cared for, restaraunt and bar were well appointed, the food was amazing -well presented and tasted wonderful - a first rate chef - Wonderful valet parking, maybe a little expensive but worth every penny it made my stay so much easier and carefree. I checked out early due to a conference and there was […] no problem leaving my car in the hotel valet parking - they even put my bags in the car and kept my heavy computer in the checked luggage room until the conference was over. The valet even offered to clean the bugs off my car window to make my trip safer. Directions out of town were offered up to ease my trip home. Lovely. Read more

"We always stay at Palliser when in Calgary"
Anytime we are staying in Calgary we always stay at the Palliser. The staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The rates are always comparable to all the hotels around however you get a better room at the Palliser for a little less than the other big name hotels right there. The only caution they have not updated the menu prices […] for in room dining so the rate in the menu are not the current rates but they do advise when you are odering what the current charge is. "Maylong weekend at the fairmont calgary"
Any hotel that answers the in house phone and calls you by name is trying its best to please. I can not recall any instance of a request that was not carried out quickly and without a fuss. This is a heritage hotel and it looks very well maintained loved the place.
"Great Stay in Downtown Calgary"
Great Fairmont resort. Room was exceptional, staff were courteous and strived to provide you with everything you need. I was disappointed by the fact that internet wasn't free. In my experience, even the cheapest motels nowadays have free wireless.

"Happy Honeymoon"
Great Hotel and Great Location. Keith Urban and Nicole were staying there at the same time, so can't be too bad, Eh?
"Nice Hotel but Not Quite Luxurious"
This hotel did a nice job with customer service and the public areas were very nice. Our room had nice touches but clearly was past due for some general maintenance. Little things like chunks of wood torn out of the door frame in the bathroom and pictures that weren't centered in the matte in the frame just didn't make it feel quite like the luxury […] we had hoped for. Stepping outside our room made the experience much better. Our kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. It was definitely worth what we paid through Hotels.com, but wouldn't recommend paying anywhere near rack rate for our room. Read more
"TIred, worn rooms"
We had two rooms, both of which were in very poor shape - extensive mold in shower, worn carpets, shabby dustskirts on bed, etc. This was not up to Fairmont standards. We were extremely disappointed after spending a week in lovely rooms at the Fairmont Lake Louise.
"Dated, tired hotel"
This is a tired hotel in a beautiful building. Does not live up to Fairmont standards. Baths were dated and shower tiles moldy in our 2 rooms. Very disappointed.
"Old World Elegance in the New West"
The Fairmont Pallister exudes old world charm in the capital of the New West. The sumptuous lobby and the elegant rooms speak to a high level of service and pride in the property by the staff. Friendly, courteous staff in the heart of downtown Calgary with excellent access to resturaunts and the Calgary Tower.
"Steve the bell hop"
Steve met us as we pulled up on our motorcycle and was most helpful finding a place to park it as well as roads to travel in Canada. Great Guy. Hope this gets to him
"Great hotel!"
Super hotel, great and big rooms, fair price! What else do you want?

"Had A Great Stay"
I appreciated the quality of the Fairmont.
"not standard we expected"
Would actually rate at 3.5. Overall room cleanliness fine (not 100% but "fine") but the grout in the tub/shower combo definitely needed some cleanup, not what I expected from Fairmont. We did get a great rate & were in a basic room category; however I think cleanliness should not depend on one's room category. Lobby does look nice. Location fine for […] our needs (to go different directions with transit). For 2 of 4 days we had a car, but the parking was so expensive that it was cheaper for us to park at relatives & bus to & from the hotel ($11 return). The AM stations on the bedside radio--all static, so some sort of intereference. We might stay again if another great rate, but I wouldn't make a point of "recommending" it. Read more
"The Fairmont Palliser Calgary - beautiful/ noisy!"
This is a Beautiful Hotel , always has been - with great service , but when you stay in room 436 , you will have a tough time sleeping between the noisy Fan circulation out of the Heating and AC system , but the actual real noise is the constant trains that pass by right below over the weekend....not sure how to confirm this isnt a constant issue - […] just request not to fsce the south side if you are on a lower room floor - Read more
