"Great Lobby but otherwise disappointed"
The Fairmont Palliser is in a great location. We rented two rooms, one for ourselves and one for our son and daugh-in-law. The lobby is a wonderful, grand, vintage space, nicely restored and maintained. We used it each day for visiting and for enjoying a wonderful dessert from the Rimrock restaurant. The rooms, however, were disappointing. The beds […] were comfortable but the carpet was stained and unsightly. We could live with the fact that the bathroom was very small and cramped but the tub tile was long overdue for replacement and the sink faucet was undersized and difficult to use. We were very disappointed to discover that the advertised WiFi availability was $14 per day. In this day and age that seems silly and stingy. We were glad to be near Starbucks for free WiFi. The parking, including taxes was $38 per day. Overall: disappointed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great for an extended stay"
Living out a of a hotel for three weeks is difficult for anyone! The Palliser helped to make my stay more comfortable while I was here. The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and attentive. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone. Cleanliness of room/hotel: Excellent. Quality of Service: Excellent. Hotel amenities: Great, however, there were some things […] the hotel didn't have (Such as aspirin. Additionally, the pool was small and shallow and the work out room was also small but for a brief stay I think they're suitable.) Hotel Location: Great Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Change in Rooms"
The rooms are very Old. The carpet is so Old that you dont even want to touch it. The bath tub was old as well. The hotel has a great location they should invest in better rooms. Change the carpets, change the shower(better pressure) change the bath tub.Genuine Expedia guest review
"I would like to come back on a weekend"
Travelling on business. The exercise room was an odd shape but was well equipped. I didn't eat at the hotel because there were so many other options in town. The room was very quiet although the hotel was fairly full. This hotel must have been a gem in its time - a good location to shoot a movie. It is still well kept and charming, but not trendy. You […] must pay for wi-fi. My room had a mini-bar fridge. I don't use those anyway and this one was not cold. Plenty of public space - nice chairs and tables on the lobby level but also the basement and mezzanine levels. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hidden fees make stay way overpriced"
No public wifi available, internet service and parking very expensive for what you were getting, front desk service was very hit or miss regarding knowledge, courtesy and availability, lobby area stark and uncomfortable with no amenities at all, nothing romantic, functional or cost effective with this stay. Even location was compromised by traffic flow […] and location of mass transit. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fairmont Gold is grand"
The entire staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. It is definitely worth upgrading to the Fairmont Gold service level.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great place to visit"
We got a great rate at the gold level which included breakfast and afternoon snacks. All of the people working there were friendly and helpful, especially the ladies in the gold level club room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice hotel w/ great location & outstanding service. Would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel staff was excellent. So was the food. Health center was very good. Excellent location near good restaurants, coffee shops, and wine bars.Genuine Expedia guest review

Great place to stay, would definitely come again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Beautiful hotel and room. But we were also very drunk. Unfortunately too drunk to fully enjoy it. Blast. Next time.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not even close"
The bathroom looked like a hostel. mold in bathroom, HomeDepot hardware and fixtures, Caulking around tile instead of grout, basically third world type repairs and materials in the room. Seriously, Im pretty easy going as far as this stuff goes, but it was not even on the same planet as a 3 or 4 star joint, not even close... The lobby was amazing, the […] bar was kind of classic and wore its age great.. the staff was really great, but those rooms were totally disgusting. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Fairmont Palliser is a lovely hotel."
It has a wonderful atmosphere, harkening back to the days when travel was more leisurely, usually by train. It is connected to the Telus Convention center by the city's overhead walkway system, but unfortunately it does not go much beyond that. Fortunately, it can be accessed again a few blocks up the street, which is handly. The staff are very helpful […] and courteous, and the food is generally good. I would stay there again. "Great charater and location!"
Niced and best place to stay in Calgary, period. Great charter and location. I paid extra to upgrade to Gold and it was worth it. I payed less than the on-line price for Gold because I bought it at the desk at check-in and they offer it for less if they have availability.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Calgary's best hotel"
This hotel has the long legend, so the building looks older. However I didn't feel discomfort. Each amenity is very good and the space of rooms is large enough. The quality of furniture in rooms is high level.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Palliser Hotel Experience"
We came for wedding night and when we booked we where told we'd have a 4 star room and a gicuzie tub. When we got their we were told our room had just gone to the last people to come in. When we got to our room it was very disappointing, our room was very small and the tub was smaller than our standard size tub at home. I went down to the front desk […] to see what they could do about it. I was down there for 15 minutes on my wedding night trying to get the hotel staff to do something for me. I finally suggested they upgrade my room and add a complimentary breakfast. To which they complied, however it cost me precious time with my new bride. I'm not sure if we will ever be back. My job has taken me from the U.S. to Canada, Brazil, Europe, and North Africa and this hotel has the best overall combination of service and facilities. I won't stay in Calgary unless it's the Palliser.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Classic in Calgary"
Got a great rate, so decided to stay here our last night before flying home. Overall a nice hotel, service in Rimrock room started slow.....did get better. Disappointed that on a Saturday night NO entertainment.Genuine Expedia guest review
Large room. Staff were very helpful. Located in the heart of downtown near the Calgary tower.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"The Fairmont Palliser, Calgary, Alberta"
The hotel is historical and close to downtown attractions, restaurants and shopping. Parts of the Palliser, including the lobby and pool area are beautiful. The room, while comfortable, was small and the carpeting was filthy. The bathroom was nice and big. The hotel staff was all very nice and helpful. The cost of parking was also reasonably priced […] and next door to the hotel. Overall, our stay at the Palliser was a positive experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The Fairmont Palliser, from its website and virtual tour, looks gorgeous; however, though the hotel is beautiful in its own right, the overall experience is disappointing. The pool is smaller than it appears from the description—it’s basically just another hotel pool and hot tub. Internet costs $15 a day, while it’s free in lower-class hotels (such […] as Super 8). We had to pay for any outgoing calls we made from the room, even local ones. The bar is overpriced and lacks atmosphere and a decent selection (I believe a hamburger was $18 and a alleged quality microbrew $7). The serving staff was rude and inattentive. The hotel is located, according to the concierge, over a mile away from the “worthwhile” shopping and dining areas of Calgary (not within walking distance for most groups). When we asked him for interesting stops closer to the hotel, he had only one unoriginal suggestion. On the other hand, the rooms are very clean and comfortable and the housekeeping staff cordial and prompt with service. We were not appalled with our visit, but, next time, we would look for other places to stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Possibly Calgary's Best"
I cannot recommend this hotel enough. I was in Calgary on business for a day and had been told by locals that this was THE hotel I should pick. Indeed, it was a wonderful experience. My room was spacious, beautifully decorated with a closet that was more like a dressing room and a nice marble bathroom. I came to regret that I did not have more time […] to spend at the Palliser! I will definitely stay there again when I need to return to that city. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Beautiful building in a great location. Rooms were not the best, but overall a pleasant stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Service is second to none"
We make a point of staying at the Palliser before christmas most years. The hotel is decorated beautifully and we always enjoy the ambiance. A relaxing drink in the lounge where we were served by the same charming and efficient waitress we had last year, followed by dinner in the Rimrock restaurant - a very relaxing way to wind down after a busy week. […] No matter if you arrive in designer suit or blue jeans you are welcomed! The Palliser is a classy spot the only downside is the bathrooms are showing their age. "Very disturbed night"
Extremely disturbed first night with trains hooking up and coming and going outside my window. No coffee in room. Have to pay for wifi. They did move me to a much better, quiet Jr Suite after I complained. I asked twice to borrow a charger, which they said both times they would bring to my room - it never appeared. We actually really like the Fairmont Palliser. Especially for Brunch. However, unless you upgrade your room, the rooms are quite small and dated.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The stay was amazing!! The first room we got was supposed to be non smoking but wreaked like stale smoke. I'm pretty sure this is a ploy to get you to upgrade your room....which we did. It was a Fairmont gold room and very very nice. Great view of 9th Avenue. A little pricey but we'll worth it!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Close to all our commitments and local sights. Staff were Very helpful with requests and special considerations. Disappointed in the quality of the Thanksgiving dinner served-relative to cost.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location (except for the railroad tracks)"
Beautiful hotel. Loved the central location as I had several places to visit around the city. Room was smaller than expected, but comfortable. Room overlooked the railway tracks, so you could hear trains occasionally throughout the night. Didn't like that I had to pay extra for internet wifi access. Other reviewers mentioned the expensive parking. Their […] valet parking was just over $30 per day, with come and go privileges. However, I parked next door at the Impark lot. Because it was the weekend, it was only $6.00 per day (but you don't get in/out privileges; you pay each time you leave and enter). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Could be better"
Not much value for money - hotel has a gorgeous lobby and a vintage feel but the rooms seem old and tired and rough around the edges and were very small. Everything you expect to be included with a normal hotel costs extra (parking, internet access) - beware parking in the attached garage - it was outrageous!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Night at the symphony"
We were able to get good rates through a booking agency and the location was perfect. (We came into town for a night at the Calgary Philharmonic (Spectacular!) and a nice romantic dinner.)The room was small but very clean, and the fixtures/ interior were a bit worn but fit the age and history of the hotel. The public areas were gorgeous, old world elegance. […] I would stay again if we take another trip and are going to an event in downtown Calgary. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Stunning hotel, great staff!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice room, staff very professional and friendly. Great downtown location. Stayed for one night and would definitely return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a lovely stay at the Fairmount Palliser for a weekend in Calgary. The only complaint we had was on our second night we had very slow service in the lounge restaurant for dinner with our 2 year old. So slow we ended up leaving and ordering room service as our Daughter only has about a 30 minute sit time and it took 35 minutes to just get our drinks […] with no sign of a menu. Other then this the room was beautiful, the pool, hot tub and steam room was great. And the lobby is stunning. The parking that was attached via a pedway on the mezzanine level was very reasonable priced from Friday night to Sunday around 1:30pm it only cost $18.00. We would stay again for sure.
