Found all staff to be very friendly and helpful.
"Good place to stay at... if you don't need WiFi"Reviewed by Karen of "Edmonton" on Jan 30, 2012
Hotel is close to boutique shops and restaurants. The front desk catered to my requests without any problem, such as a room with a city view (facing Robson street - don't request this if you like having your window open while you sleep). Enjoyed the heated floor in the bathroom. I did not use the parking facility, but it's right beside the hotel. Tip: if you want to use the hotel's internet, you have to bring a small laptop that has a internet port. I'd stay in this hotel when I come back to Vancouver.
"Super 8 in Langley"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 30, 2012
if you don't mind frequent trains passing by, (tracks across the street from hotel front door) this was a really nice place to stay. Beds very comfortable, rooms very clean.

"sandman vancouver city centre"Reviewed by Derek of "Vancouver Isalnd" on Jan 30, 2012
Good hotel for the price; convenient for all the the places we wanted to go in downtown Vancouver. Our request for a room change was dealt with efficiently and courteously. Only negative was the high level of late night street noise; the windows in our 8th floor room didn't provide much sound insulation. Would stay there again - with ear plugs.

"Excellent stay"
We stayed overnight at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and had the best stay! The hotel was close to everything and the concierge and check-in staff were phenomenal! Looking forward to our next stay!
We always love Hotel Vancouver, mainly for its classiness. Our room was very neat and was of excellent value for the rate as we booked with a great discount via hotel.ca. The only thing was that there was a slight thumping noise from above almost whole night long. Not sure where that came from.

"the hotel Vancouver a great place to stay downturn"
Close to everything downtown and the Skytrain to the airport.
"Great Hotel"
Best I've stayed in Downtown Vancouver. Mix of classic old hotel with comfort and location Pan Pacific has great view rooms but this is more comfortable.

The only concern is that there are quite a few charges we did not know..there was a charge for local calls which I did not realize. I did not read the fine print on that but I have not experienced that before...Loved everything else!
"Fairmont-Hotel Vancouver"
The hotel is located perfectly to walk to restaurants and shops. The Conceriege gave great reccomendations for attractions and dinner and got us great tables wherever we wanted. Highly reccomend this hotel.
"Buffet Madness"
Hotel hugely overbooked with tour operator traffic - the business man must fight his way to the buffet overflowing with everything-included-tour-tourists gorging themselves. Not at all what one would expect or hope for at a Fairmont.
"Lovely hotel"
We stayed on the Gold floor and it was very nice. The lounge is a nice oasis to relax in, and the staff is excellent and attentive, but not overbearing. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. It had the charm I expect from a historic CPR hotel, without being either cold and souless or overly fussy. I'd definitely stay here again when I'm in V […] ancouver Read more
"The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver"
Tha Fairmont hotel Vancouver was an exciting and comfortable stay. The meals we enjoyed were exceptional, as was the service by all the hotel staff. The hotel has an old world look, with all the pleasures of modern day convenience. It is just a few minute walk from Vancouvers best shopping locations, as well as the Olympic torche. We are planning another […] stay at the Fairmont very soon. Read more

The staff and service was incredible. Best hotel experience I have ever had . It was beyond my expectations . The staff on the Gold floor were incredible ............all of them. Just a incredible experience . Thank you
"Fairmont Downtown Vancouver"
everything was ok except for maintenance, they had to put an electric heater because the central heat at the room was not working and in 2 days nobody came to fix it, and for the price the service in that part was not good. people kind and restaurants very good. for the rest is a Fairmont........ok.

Love the hotel and the service we first class. It's just a shame everything comes with an additional cost. Example it is $30 to rent an umbrella , I would honestly expect little touches l,e this to come free of charge given the nature and cost of staying at a fairmont. This type of charge just tarnishes the quality of the experience . Francis
Great friendly motel, good neighbourhood, safe area.

It was a good time. Nice pillows.
"Fairmont Hotel Vancouver"
While I understand this a historical landmark the hotel was very busy and noisy as it is located in the middle of down town. It was in easy walking distance to areas of interest. The dining was good and not as pricey as the bar. Our room was rather small/tucked in a corner and cramped yet rather expensive.
"Fairmont Hotel in VancouverBC"
The Hotel is beautiful and the service really was impeccable. We were travelling with children and the pool made everything perfect. My only hesitation in coming back or encouraging others to stay at this hotel would be the expense.

"The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, 900 West Georgia St"
Location is good, close to nice stores and restaurants. Old world stile if you like that feeling. To me, rooms can be updated and bathrooms need a complete renovation. Holel staff is excellent and nice, they will make sure you have everything you need to make you stay confortable.
"Vancouver Fairmont"
It is a grand old hotel, and I was initially impressed. However, we had just gotten off a cruise ship from Alaska and asked the concierge for a recommendation for a moderately priced restaurant. upon his request, we went to Cin Cin, where the least expensive bottle of wine was $100! And there were lots of other good restaurants in the area. I had a […] fabulous Get Fit room service breakfast the next morning before our trip to Vancouver island. However, on Sunday morning I discovered the in-room coffee pot was broken, and then the bathroom floor filled with water after our showers. However, the hotel staff was very pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Our room was spacious, unlike our friends', and comfortable. Read more
"Elegant and centrally located"
We stayed at the Fairmount Vancouver before and after a cruise. It's beautiful, on an upscale street that's only a 5-minute taxi ride to the cruise terminal. We booked a deluxe double for a family of 4 and it was spacious and perfect. The staff is helpful and everything was clean and elegant in a classic old-world way. I would enjoy staying here again. "Fairmont - Very Attentive Service"
The staff at the Fairmont were very attentive and courteous. Normally on weekends, the complimentary breakfast area opens at 7 am. Upon check-in, we were informed it would be open at 5:30 am to accommodate the early start time of the Vancouver marathon, which was great for my wife (who was running in the marathon).

"Overhyped and overrated"
We were very excited to stay at this hotel. From the pictures it looks beautiful and it has been touted by numerous websites and guidebooks as the place to stay in Vancouver. I suppose all of this information led to higher than usual expectations, which this hotel didn't meet. The outside is pretty, no question, but the inside is tired and certainly […] not as "grand" as it was made out to be. The hallways were worn and very dated, and our room was small and dated. Luckily, we went in the off season and got our room for a very low price, so I can't say I regret staying here. However, if we had come in the summer and paid the usual rate, I would have been very disappointed. When we return again in the warmer months, we will not be staying at this hotel. Read more
"elegant hotel for business or holiday traveler"
The room was large and the desk was setup with "useability" in mind. It could use a few more electric outlets. As a business traveler- I notice that. I treated myself to their wonderful brunch. I would recommend this hotel. Service was excellent & it had an elegance often lacking in newer hotels. I also enjoyed that they are dog friendly. The hotel labs […] are a delight. Read more
"sounds of Vancouver"
This is an old beauty of a hotel and a true Vancouver landmark. It could use a little modernizing, for example the wallpapers are a bit old lady-ish, but in general lovely. The only draw back, and it was a significant one, was the noise. There was an intermittent loud booming noise, all night and day. Not sure what it was from, other doors closing or […] parking or whatever, but my sleep was interrupted by it which was less than ideal. otherwise, a great place. Read more

"Fairmont -Hotel Vancouver"
Beautiful hotel - perfect location across the street from the Count Down Clock for the Olympics (now at -0-) the Art Museum, and restaurants, shops, movie theaters. Could not be easier to access from the Airport. I hired a driver to pick us up at the airport and take us to the Hotel - and I felt sort of silly. The road out of the Airport is a straight […] shot to down town Vancouver and about 2 blocks over is the Fairmont Hotel. You can see it and navigate easily. Room just like in the picture. Classic traditional furniture. Four down pillows, TONS of drinks and coffee in room. Large size coffee maker (by Hotel standards) fully stocked mini bar (they warn you at check in its electronically monitored and so when you lift something up you have 20 secs to return it or you are charged - sounds funny its just modern and latest techonology. Lots of bottles of water in the room for you (you cannot add anything to the mini bar friedge to chill it - due to the system to monitor the use of things in the mini bar.) Large bathtub and shower over the tub. Nice CLEAN bathroom - traditional Pedistal sink, hair dryer - all the little soaps and shampoos and shower cap you could need. Free newspaper. Room service is NOT 24 hours - I called at 11 pm and they had "gone home" I put out the hanging request for room service on the door at 2am and did not receive breakfast. They apologized profusely. I told them no problem - I put it out at 2am which is normally too late. Great breakfast buffett downstairs in GRIFFINS - really good food. A manager came over to apologize about the lack of room service breakfast again - and again I said NOPE it was me - not you. Check out was again easy - I askd to have a movie removed - they said normally not, as another company operates it but filled out the paper work politely. Could NOT be MORE CENTRALLY LOCATED. The entire stay was great, wanted more time - the city is clean the hotel is clean, its all safe and beautiful Read more

"Over priced"
What more can I say then the hotel Vancouver is over priced for what you get. The service was lack luster. The meals were WAY over priced for what you get.
"Great hotel in perfect location"
The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver was the perfect property for our first stay in the city. Centrally located, we were within walking distance to the best shops and restaurants, as well as close to the water. The hotel itself was understated luxury, the staff very helpful and the rooms clean and spacious. I would recommend this hotel to all visitors staying […] in Vancouver! Read more

"Well Kept Vintage Hotel in Great Central Location"
We always search for vintage hotels for our trips and The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver did not disappoint! Well kept and in a great central location with the new Canada Line to/from the YVR Airport less than 3 blocks away. The bed was very comfortable while the bath soaps/lotions were of high quality. The only thing we would change would be the very thin […] toilet paper used. Staff were helpful and friendly and there's loads of places closeby for shopping and dining. "Hotel is good, service was not great."
The Hotel is clearly a good hotel, with the best location in Vancouver... but it is old. Our room and the whole floor smelled old and musty. The service was not great either, I feel that for the price you pay the people working at the Hotel should be more friendly. All in all, it was a good stay, but not great!
