"Not good for non-couples"
Great location, nice bed, easy access to airport BUT really stupid slatted dividers between the bedroom and bathroom, and on bathroom sliding doors - Why? Absolutely no privacy / sound limitation for bathroom, tub, shower, and toilet. This is a SIMPLE fix-change divider into a real wall and change door into a solid door! Unloading at curb was complicated. Surely many are returning rental cars. Why not allow better temporary parking for check-in? I do not want to leave rental car keys with a valet to "move it just in case." If it's dented, it's my payment.

We will be beginning our guest room renovations shortly and our plans include having these doors adapted to provide better privacy. Please also accept my apologies that unloading your bags at our front door was complicated. Gateway Valet extends a period of 15 minutes to our guests to unload their bags and check into the hotel. Due to airport security standards, any guest leaving their car unattended at the front door must leave their keys with the valet. Thank you for your input. "Great to stay the night before a flight out"
We always stay the night before we fly home at the fairmont. Having the convenience of being already in the terminal, especially for an early flight is terrific.

had to stay at the airport for a really early flight. this hotel made that a pleasure, rather than an inconvenience. they upgraded our room, and my son took full advantage of their pools, weight-room etc. the staff couldn't have been kinder and more helpful.

Excellent service, workout, swimming and sauna facilities. Wifi and self parking are each 15/day and wifi was unreliable. Still, the staff was great and having the hotel attached to Vancouver International Airport was awesome.

"You discover a great hotel through their staff ..."
I had a relatively short stay (I arrived after 8 p.m. and left the following morning). The problem was that the heating in my room was not working properly. This meant that I did not have as restful night as I had hoped for, in between flights from Los Angeles the previous day and Tokyo the following day. The maintenance man came very promptly and tried to resolve the issue immediately, but it required a spare part in a pipe that could not be fixed that night. As it was after 10 p.m. and I was too tired to pack all my things again and ask to change my room, I used extra bedding to keep warm and decided to put up with it. When I told the hotel staff on checkout about this, I received a very generous gift card and was offered other free amenities to make up for this major inconvenience. I found this very professional. Things can always go wrong in a building, but it is the willingness of the staff to try to make it right, which they did to the best of their ability, which indicates that you are dealing with a great hotel. That is why I will happily be returning to the Fairmont, despite this incident, as the staff's unquestioning courtesy and competence inspires confidence in me as their guest.

"Fairmont is grand"
Except for the slow drain in the shower and a telescope that wasn't threaded correctly, the hotel was great. I wish they had put out breakfast at 5:30 instead of 6:30. Much too late to catch my flight on a full tummy.

"GREAT hotel...though bar is overpriced"
Excellent stay, love the Fairmont and proximity to airport...right there!!!! You are treated like a valued guest form the moment you encounter the bellhop at the airport ticketing level. Impressive customer service for sure. The only drawback....two glasses of local BC wine set me back $47. which is absolutely ridiculous....and we aren't talking 9 oz pours either.

"Wow! Wow! Great Hotel!"
Wow! From the plane spotting guide to the water by the bedside, this hotel pays attention to lots of luxurious details. They had a charging station by the desk and even provided a global adapter for the power. The staff were unbelievably friendly and helpful. They were sincere and genuine in their kindness to me.

Only big disappointment was having to pay $15 for wifi... Complained at the front desk and they did remove it from my bill, but they really shouldn't be charging for wifi at their room price. Even McDonalds has free wifi!!! It is 2015 after all...

"great stay"
Very good location for an early flight in the morning - we were able to return the rental car the night before, and just walked down to the airport the next day. Also, discounted parking rate for self parking at the airport lot is available through the front desk. This is the first hotel that our kids have stayed in ever (age 3 and 4) and they were impressed.

Right inside the airport, convenient for early flight. Expensive for that convenience and would only stay there because of early flight. I have stayed at other much less expensive hotels that provided at least a half hour free WiFI. Not at the Fairmont - $20+ just to check, so go to the terminal and use the public system. My room faced the runways and it was well sound-proofed.

"Friendly staffs, excellent facilities"
The hotel staffs always greet us during our stay. When we had problem with our room key, the room service lady nearby opened the room for us and gave us complimentary bottle water for the inconvenience.

"Best airport hotel."
It's totally convenient right in the airport. The beds are super comfortable. The fitness center is nice and clean. If you forget something they are quick to get it for you. It's probably the nicest airport hotel I've stayed at.

"A convenient and a quality property"
Very convenient for an early morning departure, just go downstairs and you are at the ticket counter. Their on site restaurant has been improving their menu and it was excellent for supper. The hotel is well worth the price in regard to convenience and quality.

"Very convenient and staff very helpful"
Only glitch was coffee pot didn't work even though the maid assured me it did. For a coffee addict who had to make a 6 a.m. Plane, this was a disappointment. Concierge comped a minibar snack in exchange and that was nice, but I still missed my coffee!

This hotel was very family friendly. Nice heated pools for the kids, comfortable bar with friendly servers for the adults. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. The floor to ceiling windows overlooking the runway made our kids day. The best part...you couldn't hear a lick of airport noise!

"Nice hotel within the airport"
Coming in late, this was a perfect first night's stay in Vancouver. Price worth the convenience, though I don't think worth it if outside the hotel. Decent food in lounge as well as a nice breakfast (ordered off menu as the buffet price wasn't worth it for us.)

Room was ready by 10:30 a.m. for an early check-in. Concierge and bell services were amazing and helpful. They even helped us with getting our bags to the airline at 4:30 in the morning.

"Fair mint Vancouver Airport"
Rooms were large and comfortable. The staff looked for ways to insure you enjoyed your stay without being intrusive. The food was well portioned and tasty. I recommend this hotel when flying in or out of Vancouver

"Great service, oddly cool location"
We weren't flying anywhere, but there were no other rooms to be had in the city. I had accidentally pre-booked the room with one king size bed instead of two queen but we had two kids with us. They worked very hard to make sure we kept our luck serious room and also had a cot for our daughter to sleep in. That cot was better than her bed at home! The room service was excellent and the pool was weird but cool.

"Quiet and convenient"
This is a luxury hotel, conveniently located right IN the Vancouver International Airport. Very quiet, easy check-in, professional staff. My major criticism was with room service--I found the food very expensive and very disappointing. The beef in the french dip sandwich was literally unchewable, the roast chicken dinner was tasteless and cold. Save your money and pass on the food, but enjoy the room--just remember not to touch anything in the mini-bar. Each item is apparently hard-wired to the accounting office, triggers a charge if you so much as lift it to read the label. Really. A touch too big-brotherish for me.

"Luxury, convenience and QUIET right IN the airport"
Luxury with all the bells and whistles right IN the international terminal in Vancouver. Top of the line everything: linens, decor, tech support in the room, and service. Location is literally attached to the international departures for Vancouver airport, so you can check in, check your bags and head back to your room for a spritz and room services before checking out and leaving. And don't worry about airport noise: their triple-pane windows keep everything amazingly quiet!
