"The quintessential Banff experience"
If you make it to this little corner of heaven, treat yourself to a stay in one of the most historically significant hotels in Canada. Coming to Banff and not staying at the Fairmont is truly cheating yourself from an amazing experience in a grand hotel. Sure, some of the rooms are rather tight, but they are spotlessly clean and well appointed. Besides, […] you're there for the view!! Make sure you get a room at the back of the hotel which has a picture perfect view of the mountains. Finally, the service here is unparalleled. We splurged on the Gold level room and the quality of service was well worth it. Right from the time of check-in we were treated extremely well - and this with a pre-schooler in tow! No request was deemed too difficult, and we were always well attended to. This is a lovely old hotel and is very well run; treat yourself to an experience travelers from all over the world have experienced for over 100 years. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A great place to stay"
The hotel, although old, it is well maintained. The location is superb, but what was the best feature of my stay was the personnel. It's very well trained, courteous and very helpful. I want to congratulate both them and the management of the hotelGenuine Expedia guest review
Best vacation ever with my kids! Would highly recommend our itinerary. The falls, iceland parkway, jasper, lake louise. Will return.Probably the most beautiful scenery that one will ever see. Great little town. So much to see.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is definitely the place to stay if you go to Banff! The hotel is beautiful and it is in a great location.Genuine Expedia guest review

Fantastic experience at the Fairmont Banff Springs for xmas 2012. Staff were wonderful, the hotel was well kept and well equipped.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful, updated, perfect"
I was a little worried about this reservation when I made it because I saw some questionable reviews, but it was stunning and beautiful! It was just the romantic weekend we were looking for. The restaraunts are fantastic. I thought the italian restaraunt was delicious and classy. Breakfast at the grill was god but WAY to much money, could have had the […] same thing at a golden corral however the views were phenomenal and I guess thats what we were paying for. The hot spring pool was very wonderful. We loved walking and exploring the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Looking fancy outside, but old insdie"
They really need to renovate their inside. This hotel looks really classic and nice outside, but their interior is at least 30 years old or something. For the price I was paying, I'll go elsewhere next time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It wasn't a good experience as I didnt get the rooms confirmed in my booking. I booked two rooms but ended up using One. I had a special needs child with three other kids and the rooms I was given were not adjoining as promised at the time of booking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Banff Springs Hotel review"
We stayed at the Banff Springs Hotel over the Easter long weekend and very much enjoyed our stay. I have been to Banff several times over the years but this is the first time staying at this hotel (or 'castle' as they prefer to be known). The Banff Springs certainly lives up to all expectations of quality and service of a hotel of this stature including […] the remarkable architecture and history. The hotel is incredibly large and sometimes easy to get misdirected but eventually you will find your way around. The grandure of the hotel is amazing and the views of the mountains from all sides is breathtaking. Anyone visiting today will have the same sense of awe as those who stayed in the hotel a hundred years ago. Although the hotel is on the expensive side, it is certainly worth the money if you can afford it. We got an incredible deal through hotels.com though and came out to be less expensive than some of the other hotels in Banff. If your budget allows, you have to treat yourself to this type of luxury at least once. The hotel is owned by the Fairmount resort chain and therefore expect to be treated well. The character of the hotel is amazing with stone and marble throughout and lots of large windows on the main levels to take in the mountain views. Several old pictures adourn the hotel and an abundance of tables, chairs, lighting, and other fixtures that take you back to days gone by. There are still of course the modern amenities as well as shops in the hotel. We really enjoyed the Rundle Lounge and sitting back in large comfortable chairs having a drink and listening to music in the evening. What a way to end a day of hiking. Although we had one of the smaller rooms, it was still large enough for the two of us with a queen sized bed, chairs, table and dresser. The bathroom was on the smaller size but I expected as much being it is an old building. The bed was very comfortable and woke up well rested. In addition to some of the on-site restaurants, there is also Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Banff Springs Hotel"
Was so amazing. We stayed here for our "Valentines Celebration" the friday of the long weekend. It was all it is cracked up to be. The bedding is so soft and comfy, the two of us were lights out as soon as our heads hit the pillows!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very historic and upscale; however, noisy in the evening. Difficult to get a sound sleep. We traveled with another couple and they were on a different floor and they said the same. We could hear people in the hallway at all hours of the night. Perhaps it is because it is an older hotel. Also, we both got stuck in the elevator at separate times Yikes! […] We both pressed all the buttons but no movement. Pressed the last floor that the elevator opened up on and ran out. I reported it to the front desk and they called to get a maintenance man to repair it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Banff Springs Hotel Alberta Canada"
We enjoyed our stay, the staff was terrific on every level, but I thought that they lacked a little in the housekeeping department. We noticed that in the eating areas, the cutlery, dishes weren't that clean, tables were sticky, windows were really dirty, and there was a lot of dust on the light fixtures. Our room was the same, clean bedding of course […] but dust and dirt that looked like it had been there for months on surfaces and fixtures. If it were any other hotel I probably wouldn't bother with review but it is not a cheap stay and I think that that should be reflected in the overall maintenance, cleanliness. I also have been there over the decades throughout the different ownerships. I hope the Fairmont group isn't letting one of the most beautiful hotels in the world, not to mention one of Canada's national treasures slip into a lower standard of hospitality. "Nice luxury, unforgettable views"
My husband and I had a wonderful experience here. Paid a little extra for a "view room," which turned out to be on the eighth floor with a great view of Mt Rundle. We stayed for one night only, and also sprang for the fabulous breakfast buffet - worth it only if you want to eat a lot - and the fancy afternoon tea. When they found out we were on our […] honeymoon they gave us a table next to the window and complementary champagne (real champagne)! The service in the Rundle is particularly classy, and the view is unforgettable. I dreamed of staying here since I was a kid and it did not disappoint. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Beautiful views of the mountains, falls, golf course, etc. the histort of the building is very interesting. On the negative side, I would recommend self park because valet was very busy and the wait was 30 to 45 mins. I am not a big fan of having to pay for wireless internet ($15/day).Genuine Hotels.com guest review

An absolutely beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. We just stayed for one night but had a wonderful stay. Will definitely plan on returning at some point in the future.Genuine Expedia guest review
"The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel"
The add for this hotel fails to mention that you must pay $25 to self park your car, or $35 for valet parking. The room was very small, bathroom very small, and no refigerator was in the room as advertised. There also was no jetted tub or balcony with this room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was a return trip to this hotel...if you stay once, you'll long to visit again. What I like most about Banff Springs is that fact that it's a magnificent building in a spectacular setting, but the staff is friendly and accommodating, rather than pompous and stiff. Sincere greetings and smiles from everyone, from the front desk to the maintenance […] staff. They were just starting to decorate for the Christmas season, and was told by staff that by the time the holidays roll around, the Hotel is transformed into a truly magical wonderland. I'm envious of those who will be able to visit at that time! The rooms are very comfortable; older furnishings (part of the charm!) - but meticulously appointed. Take some time to meander the halls and you'll come across grand ballrooms and other interesting nooks and crannies. This is a well run establishment that truly welcomes you as a guest, and no request is too insignificant. If you're unable to make the Sunday Brunch, try for the breakfast buffet instead. It was delicious - with every imaginable breakfast food available - from fresh baked croissants to yogurt to berry smoothies to your made to order omlette. I'll be back; it's one of my favorite vacation destinations. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Will stay again!"
We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. It was fantastic! The hotel itself is amazing: stately, beautiful, set against the majestic Canadian Rockies. Close to town, but not in town, so you don't need to hear tourists whooping it up outside your window. In addition to the loads of activities you can do in and around Banff, there are lots of activities […] based at the hotel: wilderness walks, caramel apple-making (we went in autumn), historic hotel tours--new stuff every season. Spring for a room with a mountain view! You pay for the experience, but it's worth it. Recommended: taking a dip in the outdoor whirlpool while taking in Mount Rundle. "shoe box room with no king bed"
We booked at King bed room and ended up having to upgrade for an additional $100, only to find we were in a tiny dingy little room with almost no view out the tiny window. I suggest a visit to the hotel for a drink at the bar or breakfast buffet, but don't bother staying there.Genuine Expedia guest review
"hotel service not great; location good"
historical landmark but hotel service is not kept at a level one would expect for a fairmont hotel. dark ambiance throughout. i prefer the newer fairmont hotels. service really needs to be kept up. someone in the hotel is not doing their job for sure.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"History and elegance, if not good value"
We stayed here for the history and class of the Fairmont hotels. Of course the hotel is elegant and historic, but the rooms can be small, especially the bathrooms, and it is quite expensive for what you get. Parking is a problem at this hotel, and you will pay $25 for self parking, internet is not free, etc. It perplexes me that in expensive hotels, […] not only do you pay a lot for the room, but everything else is extra and ridiculously expensive. "Banff Springs Hotel: Lives up to rep"
Weeklong stay lived up to expectations. Only problem: hot water sometimes slow to reach the room. Staff friendly and helpful without being obstrusive; splendid views; good value for the money. This was our first stay in a Fairmont Hotel. It was amazing. They thought of everything. Sure you paid a bit more, but we found it was money well spent. "Nice but problems"
- 80% of staff we encountered were friendly, helpful, and professional - we stayed 6 nights; one morning there was no hot water - on the Sunday night, there was a loud wedding going on with crappy, foreign music. Impossible to get sleep with all the noise. Complaint to front desk person indicated loud music would end by a certain time. Perhaps nOt surprisingly […] it lasted an hour longer than front desk person said it would. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"You would think a castle would have bigger rooms"
A beautiful hotel in a stunning setting, only a short stroll into Banff center. The hotel is a lot of fun to explore however, The rooms are very small and cramped. My washroom only had a tiny shower, with no bath! The bathroom was so tiny that you certainly could not fit 2 people in it... so small and cramped. You would expect a little more space for […] a room that is $450+ a night. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by The Fairmont Banff Springs We are sorry to hear of your disappointment. As the hotel was built in 1888, most grandeur was placed on public areas and experiences and less on size of guestroom. We have maintained that heritage, but with modern conveniences..

"Dissapointment of room"
The spa at the springs was out of this world, expensive but remember you are at the Banff Springs hotel. The food and service was amazing including reception, bell hops, spa staff and valet parking guys. My big disappointment came in the room. We booked 2 months in advance, paid top dollar and was told at check in we had been upgraded - yahoo. Our room […] wasn't in the main building and quite the hike to get to, it felt like we were in the attic, so hot we turned the heating off, opened the window all afternoon and night and even found fans in the room and had them plugged in all night and this was April.
