Hotel Staff - especially on Reception very friendly and efficient. Given a disabled room - when we queried this on checking out we were informed it was because the hotel was very busy and we had booked a double room! Breakfast awful - certainly not worth staying for. Staff nowhere as 'customer friendlly' in Breakfast area. Frequently items were running […] out e.g white bread and guests had to keep asking for replenishment. Good news was that the hotel was very close to the venue we were visiting for the evening. Would not be my first choice again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The walls in this hotel are extremely thin as on the first night we could hear a man in the room next door talking on his mobile phone. The next night was worse because a neighbours TV kept us awake until 3am. We managed to get some sleep until 6am when another room decided to dry their hair and woke us all up with the hair dryer! The breakfast was […] a let down too. The only hot option were sausages, beans and scrambled egg which tasted of pepper. When I asked the staff if there was any other oprion for the hot breakfast, they just said that was the standard breakfast. On the whole we were all very dissapointed with our two night stay and will difinately not be staying there again!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

located around 4 miles from city centre which was an easy drive. as with most ' budget ' hotels, noise was a bit of an issue in the rooms ( get the builders to put more sound proofing in! ) and i found it very expensive for what it was.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Value for money, shame no Bacon for Breakfast, just needed to ask for extra pillows as only 3 , same with mugs only two in room when four of us staying.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fine for good value business overnight stay"
The reviews I read before staying here were spot on. The rooms do have thin walls and it is a bit noisy. I was given a twin room (despite wanting a double-however, I had booked via secret savers and am told that there was nothing the hotel could do about that as they were 'fully booked' (in September on a week night?). The breakfast does lack any […] bacon and is poorly attended by staff. I had to ask for sausages to be cooked and then again for bread rolls to be re-filled. It can't be that difficult to monitor the trays and ensure there is enough food out? That said, the breakfast is adequate and good value for the room price. There was no shower gel in the room. Again, how difficult is it for the cleaners to check supplies when servicing the room. I would stay here again on business. Nothing special, but convenient, clean and good value for money. If you are looking for a luxurous relaxing break away - this may not be the place for you. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"nice place to stay"
The hotel itself was lovely although the bed wasn't very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean and well maintained. Only downfall was that it was situated in a bit of a rough area. The pub next door to the hotel was NOT to be recommended and as the hotel offered very little with regards to food our only option (as […] a family), without travelling 2+ miles, was the Mcdonalds. A better restaurant and comfy mattress would have made our stay perfect. The staff were brill and very helpful, no fuss checking in or out!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great stopover place"
Got a really good deal at this hotel and we weren't expecting much but we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was surprisingly good especially as we were expecting to have to go to a franchise place for breakfast. Thanks for a really pleasant stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good value hotel"
We just stayed at the hotel for one night. We had a car so free parking was a plus and we wanted somewhere within easy reach by car to the city centre. The hotel fully met these requirements and was excellent value with clean, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. We ate in an adjacent pub which was good value, but there didn't seem to be many other […] options for eating nearby. We had breakfast in the hotel which was included in the room rate which was an unusual bonus for a budget hotel. Altogether the hotel was good value and a pleasant experience. Hotel was excellent, room was lovely, breakfast was very good and hotel was very clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Easy access to City Centre. No complaints whatsoever. Will definately stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very friendly staff no problems at all, room clean, breakfast good, we stayed mid week so peaceful and good nights sleep.Pub next door does 2 for 1 food which was OK and not a bad price, It is close to a McDonald's as well, and the hotel does its own evening meal which we did not try. All in all very happy especially for the money you cant go wrong […] we will use this hotel next time we are up in Manchester. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Family room was big enough for the four of us. Very quiet area, McDonalds nearby and close to bus stop. buses very regular into city centre. 15mins on the bus to O2 Apollo Centre. Breakfast was lovely, filled us up before we headed to the Trafford centre. Will definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"does what it says on the packet"
Hotel was fully booked for the night as there was a Cheerleading event at the Velodrome. The hotel was really, really understaffed in the bar/reception area. Staff were very apologetic but extra staff were definitely needed. Breakfast the following morning was good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel - but don't go to the pub next door!"
The hotel itself was absolutely fine - clean, comfortable, friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Recommended. The surrounding area isn't very appealing, but the hotel is next to 2 convenient eating establishments - one is a McDonald's (love it or hate it, you know what you'll get), the other is the a pub called "The Bandstand". We decided to eat at the […] pub, as it looked fine from the outside, but ended up having probably the worst dining out experience, ever. This isn't a review of the pub, but if you value your stomach (or any other part your body / soul), I'd definitely stay away from it - stick to the hotel itself and you'll be fine! great hotel, stayed for two nights while attending friends wedding. breakfast was good and well stocked. the only downside was the shower was not enclosed, meaning the majority of the shower room covered in water! otherwise, great and no major problem. local taxi service good value and reliable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"You get what you pay for"
I am a business woman and need to stay at locations near meetings and events. I would not recommend this for other businesswomen as I had two incidents where male guests, seeing I was alone, made inappropriate remarks. Also, the carpet in the room was badly stained and the room had a musty smell. The staff were the best thing about the hotel as they […] were polite and helpful. "2 star hotel at best"
I had a group of family rooms for a team. One of the rooms the keycard opening mechanism was not working and therefore the only lock on the door was the one like a chain- where the door would be able to be opened a few inches before being stopped. Went to the front desk to ask if the room could be changed and their answer was people wouldn't go in... […] Not quite reassuring. After going down a second time they finally agreed to switch the room. The secondary bed (the pull out couch) in some rooms was fine in other rooms it was very dipped and uneven. The walls are paper thin and the door-hallway isn't insulated much better. You can hear all the doors opening at all hours including any drunken people coming and going as well as any nighttime activities. Note quite appropriate for those with young children. It was what was to be expected of a 2 star hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Room was perfectly adequate for one night stay for 2 adults and 2 kids although could have used a couple more pillows. "Where Drunkards Apparently Stay and Party."
I recently stayed at this hotel on New Year's Eve/Day. I chose this place for its location and cheapness, hoping this hotel, being out of the way of the crowds and the big city, would be an ideal place for a bed-down. I got in at 130 AM. The floors of the hotel were in full swing. You'd think it would be stupid college age kids; sadly it was a bunch […] of fat old people in their late thirties early forties. At 3AM, a fat chick bedazzled in what looked like neoprene rags was especially annoying. Hearing her drunken obnoxiously loud cockney accent was bad enough, but then to hear her just randomly screaming. Classy. Another respectable hotel patron thought it fun to start running up and down the hallways, banging on doors and screaming. The walls in this place are so thin you could pretty much hear another person farting in the room next door (and other people calling and complaining about the noise), so to hear a bunch of drunk French people storm the hallways like drunken buffalo that have never been released in society sucked. The spineless desk clerk just pretty much came up and gave the drunkards a slap on the wrist for their disgustingly annoying behavior. He came up at least four times during their drunken tryst of childish stupidity (MIGHT I ADD that it lasted until after 7 AM). You are paying your hard earned money for at least one night of sleep; in this case you can't even be guaranteed THAT. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I made a booking for a double bed and paid fully afternoon of 31.12.2011. When I got there I was offered a twin room in return. I raised the concern with the hotel manager and I was told there was no double. Why did you take my booking if there was no double I asked. We offereing you twin instead he replied. Isn't silly and unprofessional misleading […] people and trying just to get them in? It's like going to restuarant ordering lamb for dinner and they bring you beef instead because they ran out of lamb. Had I been told that there was no double I would have tried other alternatives. However I think this is not right, hotel should have been honest with people. Another important point which was casue for concern: I left my credit card by the reception for food and drink (open tab) after 1:00 am on new years day the stop serving because the management locked the system I was told. Just imagine how ridiculous is it that on new year you ready to party whole night and they tell you go to bed no more drink, we all fell like kids. I would never go there again and surely not recommending it to any one else Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The Staff were kind, helpful and nice, very good service and clean environment but rooms and toilet not airy (no airconditioner) which was not good especially in a room with 4 people due to this problem we had to use the toilets in the corridor. "Holday Inn Express, Manchester East"
This is the 2nd time we have stayed here, mainly to go to the Velodrome. It is very convenient for all sports enthusuiasts as near/and easy to get to, Sportscity. The hotel is very competitively priced The hotel staff are all very friendly and it is very comfortable and offers a very varied breakfast to suit all tastes. I am not sure how convenient […] it is to the City Centre and it is a pity the surrounding area is not better with more choices of where to eat in the evening. The hotel was ideal for our stay in Manchester. Its the opposite side to Legoland and The Trafford Centre, but good roads meant it didn't take too long to get there. Hotel and room was clean. We had a double bed and a foldout sofa bed. The room did get terribly hot and stuffy at night which meant that we had to sleep with our window open, but it didn't […] make much difference. Shower and toilet were very clean, lots of hot water and great shower. Free breakfast was great. Sausages, scrambled egg and beans. Four different cereals. Croissants and pastries. Yogurts. Juice. Tea or coffee. Toast. We didn't eat in the place next door. There is a Crown Carvery about 10 minutes away and an excellent chippie about 5 minutes away (fish and chips 3.05). "Extremely helpful staff"
The staff's attendance to detail and helpfulness was what really stood out for us at this hotel. They were very polite and hosptiable. The rooms were very clean, however my room mate complained about the "cardboard guest bed" saying she had a very uncomfortable night. This was disconcerting as we had paid triple the usual price for the room (most hotels […] in Manchester seem to have increased their usual rates during Take That's visit to Manchester). "Debdale Park - Manchester"
I was excited about staying at another Holiday Inn Express having stayed in one at Gatwick however the Debdale Park Holiday Inn Express was nothing like the Gatwick one. The holiday was dated and unfortunately, we were put into a smoking room and none of us smoke so the smell was awful. We were unable to change this when we were there. The breakfast […] that was included ran out on both mornings as the hotel was full and they did not cater for enough people. If you are looking for a hotel that is central to things, then Debdale is not the hotel to book. It cost us £15 for a taxi to Old Trafford which was 6 miles away. Ok hotel if you want something cheap and have your own transport to get around. Would I stay here again, no. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"good value but can get noisy"
This hotel can be a victim of it's own excellent value, in that at weekends it can fill up with a rather boisterous crowd whose bedtime may prove considerably later than yours. If this concerns you request a room on the upper floors - downstairs can get rowdy......Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A great place to stay"
THis is a great place to stay. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is very well kept with clean rooms and common areas. The rooms are extremely comfortable and have everything you need.
