"Close to the beach"

"Not worth the money"
Most expensive motel we have stayed at and worst all at the same time. The only thing going is the location. But had mold on shower curtain, only hot thing for breakfast was pancake machine which wasn't working, juices were just colored water. Rate was very high considering the age/condition of this property, I was aware of this prior to booking, but hoped that some of the comments were sour grapes for people hard to please. The positive for us was that we found the staff to be friendly, and the room was clean. "Right on the beach"
Great location if you're interested in hitting the beautiful beach at Isle of Palms. Our only real issue was with the cleaning staff; it was a bit lax (our room wasn't even cleaned by 4pm, and the staff at the front desk actually had to come up to do it!) The front desk staff were great, informative and responsive. The neighborhood was great, noise […] was not unacceptable, room was comfortable, if a bit small. Very much recommend walking up the street to ACME Lowcountry Kitchen rather than next door, it is far superior to the Coconut Joe's there at the beach :) Note that parking is actually across the road in gravel lots rather than at the hotel itself, so park temporarily underneath to unload before moving your vehicle. "Not worth the price"
We stayed at the Palms for a week and were not impressed with the quality. There were no "suite" options, so it was uncomfortable for two parents and two teenaged boys to be staying in a room with two double beds (no cots/mattresses were available for the first three nights). The bathroom and sink area are very cramped--no counter space for toiletries--so […] we lived out of our toiletry bags. The housekeepers did not show up two of the seven days, although the second day they did knock on the door and ask whether we'd like cleaning service (we said yes)--we were only offered a $30 discount for the inconvenience. The breakfast was okay; it would have been nice to have more than two cereal options and meat or hot eggs. There's a restaurant next door with a rooftop bar, so the music from the nightly live band is audible inside the room with the door closed until 11 PM. There is no on-site parking; the parking pass is $50 for the week and cars stay a block away. The location is convenient to restaurants and shopping and the beach is very wide and clean. Unfortunately we do not have any suites on property. Our Oceanfront rooms are our largest rooms with a pullout couch and wet bar. If you choose to come stay with us again, these rooms would be a great option for the entire family! I will immediately address with our staff the attention needed to guest requesting service. I personally go into every check out for room inspections but unfortunately I am not able to make it into all stay overs as well. We are currently working on enchaining our breakfast options, along with the breakfast bar and display arrangement. We are striving to have more options and hopefully so more hot items. I apologize that the parking location and price was not clear to you upon booking. We do not own the parking lot that we supply for guest and we are charged $6 per night per car. We would love to have room for everyone under the hotel but the city mandates that we are unable to park any cars there. "Weekend with the Grand Children"
We were able to check in early which was a pleasant surprise--room was pleasant no outside view which was ok--definitely a older hotel but room was clean. Our Grandchildren are 8 and 5 had loved the pool and being so close to the ocean. "OK hotel - Great Location!"
This hotel is right in the middle of everything at IOP. Beautiful beach steps away. Coconut Joes next door & Windjammer on the other side, shopping across street. We got a suite that had a beautiful view of the ocean. There were 3staying in the room. We tried to check in at 5:15pm& were told the room wasn't ready & that someone would call when available. […] We had spent some time on the beach & wanted time to clean up before dinner but our room never became available so we went to dinner at a nice restaurant a bit funky. After dinner when we were finally able to get in our room around 8 pm we found the bathroom mirrors & balcony dirty. The rest of the room seemed clean but ...? There were only enough towels for two and coffee for one. I called the front desk and told them of the condition of the room, towels and coffee. They brought us towels and coffee but no one ever came back to finish cleaning. We didn't make use of the pool but I called and asked if there were pool towels that we could take to the beach and was told that there were no pool towels and to use the room towels. Pretty useless if you plan to shower the same day. I asked for a late check out and was told they would have to charge me for 1/2 day so I reminded me that I was unable to check into my room until after 8pm the night before and they were a little more accommodating. The staff that was there was nice and helpful. However they did have a few staffing issues with the cleaning staff. "Great town and location"
We read the reviews and felt most of them were accurate. This is like one of the three-star hotels in Myrtle Beach, but in great location. Hotel was walking distance from shops and eating. We arrived at the hotel 50 minutes after check-in to be told our room wasn't ready. It took another 45 minutes before we finally got a room. Once in the room the bath towels were missing. Had to go back to front desk for towels and extra blankets. Parking was a nightmare too. No oarking on premises. Had to unload under the building then park across […] the street. Streets were single lanes and divided so you had to go around to get to the parking lot. The nice things I can say was the room (an interior room) had no ocean view but was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. Needed a room in Isle of Palms for the night. Had I known how bad this hotel was, I'd have stayed in Mt. Pleasant. Rooms were very dated and the AC / Heat was not consistent.
