"Hotel great, pool not"
Only complaint was pool. The hotel does not have it's own which was not clear when we booked. You are given free access to busy YMCA's pool and gym faculties next door. Budget hotel service and quality but priced higher because of location. Elevator wasn't working, so we had to carry luggage to the upstairs lobby ourselves. No service staff were positioned on ground floor to help customers. "Definitely worth consideration"
The price seemed reasonable. Our view was something to be left to be desired and parking was not included (although I'm not certain how many other hotels in the area would have parking included, and if they did, I'm sure they're still charging you). They did offer overnight valet parking for less then $50 which was in and out from the time you check […] in til the time you check out. We were greeted with two warm chocolate chip cookies and when we checked out, we asked if we could have a cookie for the trip home and they gave us two. Our only minor complaint, and it is minor, was that we could hear the sirens from the ambulances constantly visiting the Tufts center directly across the street.....but it's the city, so you expect to hear some noise. "Car valet theft"
Be careful when using the valet service at this hotel. My husband left his wallet in the car. Returned a few minutes later to find the wallet with id and credit cards still there. $200 in cash was gone. Only two guys were working. Both denied taking the money. "Great location; terrible service"
Location is right next to the orange line tufts medical center stop. Which is really nice. Sadly, the hotel staff are incompetent. e.g. we ordered room service one morning. Room service didn't answer, so we ordered it from the front desk. It should have taken 15-20 minutes to arrive. 40 Minutes later, neither room service nor the front desk would answer […] phones. I went down to the front desk to ask where our food was and why no one was answering phones. I was told there must be something wrong with our phone; they were busy and forgot to put the order in. They put it in on a rush order(still 15 minutes more). By the time I got back to the room, they had called my wife to say they were out of the french toast. I called back cancelled and ate at the starbucks in the hotel. There are many other stories I could tell and we only stayed 3 days. The worst bit is the staff apologies without sincerity and does not appear to feel bad about it at all. It's as if they apologize for being bad so often that it's just part of the job now. Horrible experience. We booked our room a month in advance, we were in town for a fitness competition I called the hotel to let them know we would be checking in later than the 3pm check in time. They told me it was perfectly fine and they noted it on our reservation. We get to the hotel at close to midnight, exhausted and hungry! Needless to say they basically told us we were SOL so we ended up leaving at 1am to drive an hour and a half back home! Check-in was smooth as butter (and we were late, but it was no problem), the front desk personnel were super friendly and quickly got us our key and cookie (DELICIOUS!!!) and sent us on our way. Sadly, we only stayed one night so we weren't able to sample all that the hotel has to offer (pool, dining...), but what we did experience was heavenly. The location of the hotel was good right in Chinatown, within walking distance of good food, t stops, and not a far walk to most attractions. The room its self was on the so so side. We went with 2 other couples and all of us complained the bed was hard and not comfortable. In addition the room squeaked. Anytime anyone walked around you heard the floor […] creak. Our one window looked over the attached YMCA's playground so if a kid slid down the slide to fast he probably would have hit out window which also means we had to make sure the blinds were closed after showers. Unfortunately, unlike other Hilton Hotels/Inns we have stayed at, this one charged $40 per night for parking and $12.95 per night for wifi.
