Great value! Clean, crisp new rooms. Close enough to Colonial Williamsburg and Richmond ave for restaurants. Friendly front desk.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a great room, the breakfast was fantastic. The one frustration was a $25 charge for a cot, when they initially told me it was $10, and then when I checked out and asked about whether I needed to sign something for the cot charge, they told me there wouldn't be one. So besides that confusion(and frustration), it was impeccable!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to stay with my family."
We were in town for a baseball tournament. The hotel was a reasonable distance from the ballpark and everything that we needed while visiting. Everything was very clean, the staff was friendly and breakfast was a nice touch.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was nice and clean, very well maintained. Would recomend this hotel to anyone. Very pleased friendly, helpful, accommodating staff. Enjoyed my stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice to know the entire property is nonsmoking. Neighborhood struck me as very quiet and very safe. The only negative: the staff was unable to keep the breakfast buffet stocked (at least during the time I was there, about 9 a.m.).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cinnamon rolls and a pancake printer"
Breakfast was very good and a little unusual. They had very good, fresh warm cinnamon rolls kept in a special warmer. They suggested we take a couple with us and we did. Rather than the waffle maker that has become common in similar hotels, they had a machine that looks somewhat like a desktop printer that makes pancakes. You push one button and a couple […] of minutes later two freshly-made pancakes roll out of the end. They were very good. The service was great and everything was immaculate. Coffee was available at all times. The gym was small, but clean and adequate for a maintenance workout. Would stay there again any time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Almost what I have come to expect from HIX"
The room was very well done with the exception of the King Bed which I found to be a bit hard for my taste. Other than that I have no complaints about the room from their new high tech Near Field keys to the beautifully done bathroom. Staff was helpful even when under stress. The breakfast was rather basic for my taste, but it was free (There's an iHop […] on the other side of the hiway). Other than the bed, I wouldn't complain about anything. "Newly renovated hotel - great location"
The hotel staff was very accommodating to our large group. We had a wonderful stay. The facilities were clean, the breakfast was plentiful and fresh and our students enjoyed the pool. Thank you for hosting our group.Genuine Expedia guest review
"One day stay"
Everything at the hotel was nice and new. The beds were way to firm for our liking. The price was reasonable. The breakfast was lacking but you get what you pay for. It was reasonably close to Busch Gardens, Yorktown, Jamestown and colonial Williamsburg.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
First of all, yes it is bit pricier than most of the other hotels that's actually closer to Colonial Williamsburg. But I chose this hotel over others because of all the good reviews; and it did not disappoint me other than one thing with the bathroom. Friendly staff, great breakfast, and cozy and nice room was definitely what most of us are looking […] for. However, the bathroom had a couple of issues. The bathtub had slow drainage. I think that's why the tub might have had some scum on the tub. That was a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, it's still close from Colonial Williamsburg--a 10-minute drive is doable. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is less than a year old and everything was nice. The heated pool was a favorite for the kids and the continental breakfast was nice. The rooms were nice and we would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to all attractions in the Williamsburg area."
Wonderful hotel, newly built, very clean, friendly and helpful staff. Loved the decor; so unique and calming. Excellent continental breakfast. Would definitely stay here again. "Modern & quiet"
Overall look and feel of the hotel is a good value for your money. Modern, new decor in grey and chrome. Decent breakfast. Indoor pool is a plus. Not far from the highway. However, I would have preferred to stay closer to Colonial Williamsburg and walking distance to shops/restaurants. I also found urine stains on the toilet seat and a grey hair in […] the bathroom. It looked like the room had not been used since last month, because the clocks had not been changed to account for Daylight Savings Time. I also wish I had ordered a king size bed because we were only a total of 2 travelers. I found the two beds to be cumbersome and rather small. Also, I prefer shower gel instead of bar soap because there is no soap dish. Plus, the first person who greeted us when checking in at night seemed inattentive and grumpy. Apart from these minor details, it's fine for a one-night stay. It might even exceed your expectations if you're used to cheap motels. If I had to do it again, I'd splurge a little on something a bit more high-end for me and my boyfriend. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I give a 4 for a room cleanliness because we found the Kleenex in the bathroom all wet. But beside that it was a nice pleaseGenuine Expedia guest review
Overall this was a great hotel and very conveniently located to all the places we needed to be. My only gripe was that the breakfast area was crazy! I found it very frustrating to move around with food and drinks in such a tight space but we managed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel close to Busch Gardens"
Very clean, great breakfast, newer hotel. We slept comfortably.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel with a great price"
The room is a perfect size and all new furniture. Stayed only 2 nights for a trip to Busch Gardens. The location is perfect for the parks and the outlet mall. Only issue is with the breakfast. They start putting things away an hour before the end time which is annoying. Also, they kept running out of items (milk, yogurt, eggs).Genuine Expedia guest review

Overall we had a good night there. It was a very clean and new hotel. Service was very good. The only issue we had was that there seemed to be a leak above us in our bathroom. "Met all my requirements"

Expedia completely botched the Independence Day reservations we had made at a bed and breakfast within walking distance of the Historic Area. It was only a day before our arrival that we discovered Expedia's error, otherwise we we might have never discovered this fine rural establishment. Everything was tidy, the grounds were clean, the hallways and stairwells were well maintained too. Our room's door was really hard to open and close but otherwise everything was in order. The room was clean, there was no overpowering odor of cleaning solvents. I perform physical therapy stretching for my back upon the floor morning and night and found the carpet had no odor. Towels were plentiful, the shower worked well and the bathtub drained excellently. The soap, conditioner and shampoo supplied were not objectionable. Water pressure was more than adequate. All the electronic equipment in the room worked well. We didn't use the microwave. The air conditioner made no more noise than is usual for this type of unit. We didn't take advantage of the free breakfast, so I cannot comment upon it. Check in and check out was handled expertly and quickly. Vasy was very helpful answering my wife's questions about our reservation.
"Clean, comfortable and close"
If you have ever been to Williamsburg then you know there are an enormous number of hotels to choose from. Anything ranging from small roach motels to bigger, fancier places. I have been to Williamsburg a few times and this time decided to stay a bit further west of the city. While this hotel is further away than the other hotels, don't think that you are too far away. Williamsburg is really not that big. Southeast of Williamsburg is Busch Gardens and Water Country USA. Northwest is most of the restaurants and shopping. One end to the other is only about 15 minutes driving so location of the hotel is not really important. Holiday Inn Express was at the extreme Northwest of the tourist area. The check-in experience was a breeze. All the staff we met was very friendly and courteous. Our room was clean which is one of the most important things. That and not in need of repair. Linens were fresh and crips. No mold or missing caulking from the shower/tub. And the room also had a fridge in it. Always a plus Every morning they have an Express Start breakfast which was very good. Lots of food to choose from: eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cold cereal, toast, muffins, juice, coffee, etc. A good breakfast is always a bonus at a hotel...especially if your day is going to be going to theme parks where food can be pricey. Hotel also had a decent pool area. Overall this is great hotel to stay at for your Williamsburg visit.
"Great value in popular vacation spot"
06/22/14 PeeVee67 Bamberg
This hotel is very popular with families due to attractions like Busch Gardens, Water Country and all the historic sights in the area. It is very conveniently located next to the highway and Interstate, but still quiet. The beds are very comfortable, and the only thing we heard during our stay was the whooping and wheezing of our nextdoor neighbor through the connecting door. In the morning, the breakfast area was quite crowded and sometimes it was hard to find a seat. The pancake machine did not work properly on two of the three days we stayed there, but the choice of food was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was missing a hairdryer, and I did not find out until the end of our stay that I should have just asked for one. Apparently, some of their hairdryers have gone missing because they are not mounted to the walls, so guests have just taken them with them.
"Simple and clean"

We stayed here just one night while visiting colonial Williamsburg. It was easy to find, get in and out of, and had a nice indoor pool for exercise even in winter. Very kid friendly with a good enough breakfast included in our reservation. The night check-in staff were laid back and friendly. Good value to be sure.

Stayed for one night on the way to see family. Rooms were clean and Hotel was in a safe lodging option. Front Desk staff was very pleasant and nice. Close to interstate, dining, and attractions. Will stay again when in the area.

It is not necessary to go into great detail, this hotel is excellent throughout - well maintained, clean and with polite, helpful staff and with a daily rate significantly lower than equivalent hotels in Williamsburg itself but only fifteen minutes drive down Richmond Highway. It is worth mentioning the large indoor pool, a facility becoming less common in new Holiday Inn Expresses.
"Exactly what we expected"

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting the Williamsburg area. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The beds and pillows were comfortable and our room was nice and quiet. My son loved visiting the duck that lives in the pond on the grounds each evening. The included breakfast was nice but not able to keep up with the amount of guests in Saturday morning. Overall a great stay and we would return.

This hotel has been completely redone and it looks and feels like a brand-new hotel. Our king room was very nice - attractive, sparkling clean, comfortable bed and new bathroom. The bathroom was small but adequate. The hotel has a pool but no hot tub. Hot complimentary breakfast includes scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, assorted breads, cold cereals, instant oatmeal, yogurt and an automatic pancake maker. It's close to Colonial Williamsburg.
"Not for us"
05/28/14 cantbelieveit_8 west coast
In my opinion, this property was very disappointing. Our room was not properly cleaned. The carpet was very obviously in need of a vacuum. The person at the front desk was very accomodating and offered us an upgraded room. When I checked that room out, it had issues also. We stayed with our original room and the next day, housekeeping did a better job cleaning. Also, both rooms I looked at were not properly stocked with towels, etc. This could be a great property but it is not properly taken care of. For us it was not a good value for the money.
"MODERN VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE"
05/25/14 SAML1 Norco LA
Excellent place to stay for a vacation in the colonial triangle. Room was as fresh and clean as new. The breakfast was a great start to our day. It is only a short drive to Colonial Williamsburg, then only a short ride on the parkway to Jamestown or Yorktown. I recommend this hotel to anyone, and will choose it when in this area again.
