Hotel was nice inside and out. Staff was excellent. Rooms were clean. Did not sleep very well because pillows were not comfortable to me. Overall this is a nice hotel off the beaten path with friendly staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Newly renovated hotel - great location"
The hotel staff was very accommodating to our large group. We had a wonderful stay. The facilities were clean, the breakfast was plentiful and fresh and our students enjoyed the pool. Thank you for hosting our group.Genuine Expedia guest review
"One day stay"
Everything at the hotel was nice and new. The beds were way to firm for our liking. The price was reasonable. The breakfast was lacking but you get what you pay for. It was reasonably close to Busch Gardens, Yorktown, Jamestown and colonial Williamsburg.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
First of all, yes it is bit pricier than most of the other hotels that's actually closer to Colonial Williamsburg. But I chose this hotel over others because of all the good reviews; and it did not disappoint me other than one thing with the bathroom. Friendly staff, great breakfast, and cozy and nice room was definitely what most of us are looking […] for. However, the bathroom had a couple of issues. The bathtub had slow drainage. I think that's why the tub might have had some scum on the tub. That was a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, it's still close from Colonial Williamsburg--a 10-minute drive is doable. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is less than a year old and everything was nice. The heated pool was a favorite for the kids and the continental breakfast was nice. The rooms were nice and we would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Modern & quiet"
Overall look and feel of the hotel is a good value for your money. Modern, new decor in grey and chrome. Decent breakfast. Indoor pool is a plus. Not far from the highway. However, I would have preferred to stay closer to Colonial Williamsburg and walking distance to shops/restaurants. I also found urine stains on the toilet seat and a grey hair in […] the bathroom. It looked like the room had not been used since last month, because the clocks had not been changed to account for Daylight Savings Time. I also wish I had ordered a king size bed because we were only a total of 2 travelers. I found the two beds to be cumbersome and rather small. Also, I prefer shower gel instead of bar soap because there is no soap dish. Plus, the first person who greeted us when checking in at night seemed inattentive and grumpy. Apart from these minor details, it's fine for a one-night stay. It might even exceed your expectations if you're used to cheap motels. If I had to do it again, I'd splurge a little on something a bit more high-end for me and my boyfriend. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I give a 4 for a room cleanliness because we found the Kleenex in the bathroom all wet. But beside that it was a nice pleaseGenuine Expedia guest review
Overall this was a great hotel and very conveniently located to all the places we needed to be. My only gripe was that the breakfast area was crazy! I found it very frustrating to move around with food and drinks in such a tight space but we managed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel close to Busch Gardens"
Very clean, great breakfast, newer hotel. We slept comfortably.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel with a great price"
The room is a perfect size and all new furniture. Stayed only 2 nights for a trip to Busch Gardens. The location is perfect for the parks and the outlet mall. Only issue is with the breakfast. They start putting things away an hour before the end time which is annoying. Also, they kept running out of items (milk, yogurt, eggs).Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was recently remodeled and very clean and new. Would reccomend to any one. Quick access to I-64Genuine Expedia guest review

Overall we had a good night there. It was a very clean and new hotel. Service was very good. The only issue we had was that there seemed to be a leak above us in our bathroom. The drywall in the ceiling was bubbled down and our floor was wet overnight. This really did not affect our one night there but it could have been an issue if we stayed longe […] r. "Nice new hotel"
Nice new hotel ,room clean and functional but could hear clearly people talking in room next door. Didn't have any cause to speak to staff on front desk probably good job as we never saw anybody there apart from at check in. Location was good for us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Home away from home"

Spent one night here and was warmly welcomed by Chelsea with a smile. The inn is clean and handsomely decorated with turquoise and gray tile. Everything seemed new and attractive. The location was not a disadvantage. The pool is a definitive plus as is the exercise room. Will definitely return.

Clean, except dark tile floor. Queen beds, not full. Attractive. Decent (some hot) continental breakfast. Excellent coffee. Floor space big enough for small kids sleeping bags, but no bigger, if you rent the two bed room. Reasonable rates. Although not out the front door, it is only about 15 minutes from Colonial Williamsburg.
"Exceeded my expectations, will stay here again"
12/23/14 Sam S Wilkesboro, North Carolina
This hotel is relatively new and the decor is attractive. Main lobby is spacious and welcoming. Chelsea, the front desk person who checked me in, was marvelous. Room key cards are the latest proximity type that don't need to be inserted. My room was not large but comfortable, well appointed with all typical amenities except a small safe. Bedding was luxurious. HDTV with DVD player were new and easy to use. WiFi was fast and functional. I especially liked the outlets in the base of both table lamps, perfect for charging a laptop or a cell phone. Free breakfast served in the lobby offered a lot of variety, better than most other hotels. Outdoor patio next to lobby was inviting but unusable due to cold weather. Indoor pool and exercise room, neither of which I used, were well equipped and convenient. I had just a few small complaints: Had to go to front desk to obtain toilet paper, which was nearly out when I arrived. HVAC unit made an ominous noise when starting up. Room and hallway looked like they had gone a day without vacuuming. Key card deactivated precisely at checkout time (although the front desk had already agreed to let me stay an extra hour). There is no unrestricted parking in front or in back of the building because the parcel on which the hotel was built is wide but shallow, so you may have a long walk from your car to an entrance. Still, I enjoyed my brief stay here and will stay here again.

Stay one day - excellent location (if you have a car) - close to supermarket -one of the few in williamsburg. The breakfast is decent as is the newspaper. The staff is professional and the rooms , especially the bed very nice.
"Good stay for the most part."
12/05/14 Michael W Birmingham
Check-in was smooth and pleasant. The staff was friendly. I stayed on 5th floor (#522) in King Exec. Good sized room. Quiet with ample lighting. Fridge placement was not the best being at front door but it may have something to do with noise level for guest. Full bath with shower if you need both. The only thing that stood out to me was the fact that they didn't have NFL network on the 37" t.v. they advertised for the room. I stayed on a Thursday night and would have liked to watch it on the t.v. rather than my iPad on NFL Mobile. Oh well. I know to ask from now on. Hope this helps.
"A delightful surprise"
12/03/14 pjtakk Long Island
We were absolutely delighted with this property and our stay here over the Thanksgiving weekend. Why it was a surprise is that we had such a terrible time making reservations through the corporate site and phone. We had to correct them a few times after we had received email confirmations. Next time, we will deal ONLY with the specific property. We chose this hotel because of the recommendation of relatives who had stayed there and were returning to the HIE the same time we were going. Upon arrival, at 1:00 am, we were greeted and welcomed warmly and cheerfully. Our assigned room was moved to another in order to accommodate some of our requests, and then we entered our room. It was clean everywhere and had all the amenities we needed. The staff was one of the finest we had ever experienced - not only the people at the front desk, but all the housekeeping staff and breakfast area staff. They were cheerful, helpful, welcoming and ready to do whatever we requested. The daily provided breakfast, though not gourmet, was tasty and more than sufficient. We anticipate other trips to Williamsburg -- and we definitely will make reservations at the HIE on Lightfoot Road - and we will make the reservations by calling them directly.
"good basic hotel"
12/03/14 goodguy2 Fenwick Island, Delaware
this is a good basic hotel. No problems. The special deal made it a good choice. The breakfast was nothing special but it beats leaving the hotel for fast food. There are discount store nearby. So, if you are looking for something basic and reasonable in cost, this is your hotel.
"Nice, pleasant hotel"
11/30/14 BankerLady123 Virginia
My sister, daughter-in-law and I just returned home from a 2-night stay at this hotel. The hotel is nice and clean. Our room was pleasant and was cleaned daily. We were very comfortable - each evening, they accommodated our request for extra towels without any problems. The only reason that I rated this hotel a 3 was because of the way they handled breakfast. Saturday morning, the hotel was obviously very busy. There was only one person working during breakfast. While we were down for breakfast, we had to ask that the orange juice be refilled, the pancake maker needed refill, there were 2 cartons of milk remaining, no yogurt, and the famous cinnamon rolls were missing until they were requested twice and the muffins were missing. Hotels have the ability to judge (by their reservations) the number of guest to expect for breakfast. When we were down for breakfast there was still 45 minutes remaining in the promised time for breakfast, but there was very little food options being refilled. Things were a little better Sunday. It appeared there were 2 people working that morning, but it appears that Saturday's breakfast has depleted their weekend supplies. We were told "biscuits were not on the menu" for Sunday. Apparently neither were muffins because there were none. Three of the juices in the juice machine indicated they needed refills. The " famous HI cinnamon rolls were missing, but in their place, they had inserted rolls that come from the grocery store (dry not not very tasty). In summary, the hotel is nice and fine to stay in, but the way they handle the promised "free" breakfast is not up to par with other HI Express that I've visited.
"Excellent for a Holiday Inn Express"
11/25/14 planetraincar Detroit, Michigan
I can't remember the last time I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express, but this hotel definitely surpassed my expectations during a recent three-night stay in Williamsburg. While its location isn't the best for those coming to spend most of their time in the historic section of Williamsburg, it's right off the highway. This gives you easy access to the entire region. The hotel, recently renovated, still has a new smell to it. Literally. Only time will tell if management keeps the maintenance up. Everything about it is contemporary. Best of all, the lighting is bright -- oddly enough, this isn't always the case with hotels. (I stay 200 nights a year in a hotel, so I've seen everything good and bad.) Rooms are spacious and super-clean. Wireless internet was a little slow, but it was free. The pool was very nice, though the fitness facility was pretty basic and in need of some enhancements. The complimentary breakfast was the only disappointing aspect of my stay. I knew it wouldn't be a gourmet breakfast, but I thought some of the offerings -- in particular, the yogurt and oatmeal -- would have been both higher quality and healthier. All things considered, this is a great value, especially for tourists who just need a clean, safe place to sleep while they're spending their days sightseeing. My only real complaint is there's no food to buy on-site if you get hungry in the evening. You could go next door to the gas station, but that has a less-than-safe vibe to it as the cashier was behind bullet-proof glass.

We stayed at this location just one night. It's a short drive for my husband to two different golf course. The room are large and clean. Front desk lady is very friendly and helpful. The price is also very reasonable.
