The service i received on my stay was excellent . Upon arrival my vehicle broke down in the parking lot. I was not going to be able to get it fixed before my check out time. The staff allowed me to stay over until it was fixed. Everyone i dealt with was very courteous. Jenn was the front desk attendant when i arrived and departed. She allowed me to switch rooms because the room i received was not a smoking room like i had booked. I would recommend the Hilton Garden Inn as a top notch hotel and would gladly stay there again. s a top notch

Fikrst room had TV that didn't work under any circumstances, and light switches that didn't work even when we tried different lifht bulbs. Second room was OK as a room and bed with TV. Both rooms were poorly laid out, with lighting so dim that I could not see in the "kitchen" area, or on any of the tables in the room until I moved them under a lamp. This was the third year my family had there annual Christmas Eve celebration their and will definitely be our last. We reserved a suite and when we got there was told different stories as to why we couldn't get one, the last being that the suites had no heat and they had to put us in one without the frdige or microwave. Hotel hot tub had all kinds of hair floating and sediment at bottom. Had to clean filter basket myself. Staff claimed it passed inspection 1 day prior, yet hot tub was luke warm. Tiles missing in pool area, controls for temperature falling off walls. Hotel smelled like smoke. Had to go ask for towels a couple of times. Got locked out of the rear door […] because card lock did not work. No maintenance on duty or call. No manager on duty in the middle of the day. First thing in the morning for comp breakfast empty milk jug and they said they had no more,no sugar out and was asked if I could go to the storage room to get some. Our room was clean & the staff was friendly & very helpful. I can't say that if it was going to be an extended stay that it would be the hotel I chose, but we were only there for 1 night for a funeral. The pool could have been wamer, but it was clean. "Airport Inn and Suites:Don't Do It!"
I have never stayed in such a filthy hotel. The walls were dirty...possibly with blood. The inside of the bathroom door had dirty hand prints on it. The fabric on the sofa had some white substance all over the arm. The blinds were torn and the wallpaper was falling off the wall. Furniture had large chunks out of it. Advertised wi-fi is "spotty so you […] can't really connect" and the disgusting bedspreads are certainly not the down comforters they claim. We had to request clean sheets and change the bedding ourselves. Too bad if the TV remote does not have batteries...because they are in a locked drawer at the front desk. The hallways smell of cigarette smoke and the staff is not at all surprised that you found the hotel in such a condition. I was not brave enough to even look at the complimentary breakfast. The place was disgusting, the minute you walked into the front door there was a terrible odor of bleach or something. The pool was small and dirty. There were no coffee pots, refrigerators or microwaves in the room. There was no cleaning service that came in to change the sheets and collect the garbage when staying over 2 days!! I wasn't greeted with a hello or welcome. The woman was extremely rude upon check-in. She didn't want to do ANYTHING, let alone check me in. "Airport Inn & Suites in South Bend, IN - HORRIBLE"
I walked up to the desk, and after ignoring me for a few minutes, the lady asked how she could help me. I told her I was there to check in, and her response was, "Nothing vacant." Very friendly! I then explained that I had already reserved the room, and, although quite the effort, she checked me into the room (after confusing my 5-night reservation […] with a 1-night reservation). Now, the room: DISGUSTING!!! I first saw a jacuzzi tub - yay, right? No. The water jets were so brown and caked with funk that I wouldn't DARE get in that tub. The bathroom was just gross. The curtains that blocked the window were translucent, so you could see everything going on through them. It was a first floor room, so people in the parking lot could see into the room easily, too. No privacy whatsoever. The bed was like an ancient torture device that was specifically designed to cause lower back pain. The overall condition of the room was terrible. I can't believe I paid what I did - it was no-tell motel quality, and the price should have reflected that. I'm kind of disappointed that Hotels.com steered me so wrong. Oh, and let's not forget the fact that Hotels.com calls it the "Airport Inn & Suites", but the sign says "Tara Airport Inn & Suites" and it is not listed under either name in either of the 2 GPS devices we used (nor was the address). People standing out front when I arrived were telling someone over the phone how hard it was to find the hotel, too, and they looked as frustrated as I was. . . I actually ended up staying at my friend's parents house several nights just to avoid the nastiness that was this hotel.
